🎬Getting stuck with a musical idea from time to time not knowing where to go with it? I hope these can help you with creating your own compositions, let me know if these tips work for you!👣👣😁
I am 71years old and I have bought a handpan, never having played one before. I have just watched your video and was amazed how quickly I picked it up. When I saw the introduction I thought there was no way I could play that, but after 30 minutes I was not only playing it, but playing it fast and with fluidity. I just can't believe how great it sounds. So thank you very much for giving me the confidence to now carry on!
Hi David, 3 years later your lesson found its way to Indonesia. Thank you for excellent way of giving a clear guidance on how to play the composition. You empathized with many newbies here and put a lot of efforts in making it easier for them, including me! Blessings. 😍❤
Just got my first RAV drum G Pygmy. I LOVE your teaching g style! In particular, not only the ease of which you break things down but also your notations to follow. So glad I found your tutorials! I'm grateful for your sharing your amazing gift and knowledge with us newbies!
I chose this video to leave this comment but I've been appreciating all of your tutorials. As a new handpan player, with some drumming background (mostly during my teen years), I've found these videos super helpful. Thank you! Positive vibes ~ 🙏🏻
Vielen Dank für dieses Viedo und die klaren Instruktionen. So kriege ich als absolute Anfängerin bereits einige schöne Rhythmen und Melodien hin, die auch in einem langsamen Tempo funktionieren 🙂
I just came home and the first thing I checked: Is the new video online. It is such a great gift to get these videos free. I‘m also practicing with the first part of the Handpan Dojo and call myself an absolute greenhorn. It‘s real fun to practice with you. It inspires me to explore my own handpan world. Thank you David 🙏🏻
Hi David, this is one of the best tutorials I have seen so far. Very helpful are the notes in the background. You are a very good teacher, you explain very good. I only have my handpan for about 6 weeks or so. But these videos from you make it easy for beginners to learn. Thank you very much. Have a nice day
LG
David, These videos are so nice of you to provide for everyone. There are also very good. I have had my pan about three weeks and your videos are definitely playing a nice part in my progress. Thanks very much.
So well explained! And the clear notation in the background is very helpful! Thank-you very much!!! Especially this video helps me to understand much better how I can play my handpan in a way which brings more joy to me (and maybe to others when I'm getting better...)
Exactly what I needed, to go ahead and start tweaking my repetitive loops. It looks simple but I wa so confident with my repetitive stuff that I didn't want to change them. Thanks
@@DavidKuckhermann I think you touched something very deep here... The frustartion and the expectation ! When I listen to a melody that I like, and the musician is playing in others direction, or some music notes are missing ... I'm waiting to recover the melody ! And I'm happy when it's back !!! (very interesting phenomena...)
@@ray_jack3703 Absolutely. And when you get it back, you appreciate it even more than before. It's really fun to experiment with these effects in music!
Hey David! thank you for the video you make for us! you are so helpfull for so much people. Bdw i have a request, an advance handpan video for the next week if is possible, this stuff its important but too basic! thanks for all this video David!
Danke David! Ich habe schon Deinen Online-Kurs. Aber solche Videos helfen zusätzlich und machen Spaß! Vor allem wenn die Melodie auch noch so schön ist💗
I have just ordered a ver cheap amazon budget handpan . I have been watching a lot of videos. Your is first i have subscribed too . I cant wait to get started on my probably bang out of tune handpan 😅
Wonderful instruction, once again David. It just shows how the breaking down of individual components provides strong building blocks for endless creative expression. Thank you.
Great video as always :-) so glad to be friday! i agree with subo's comment about transitions and patterns changes, that would certainly help to make longer composition
Thanks, was just practicing and felt repetitive or mental blocks in creativity.this will help breakthrough it,gonna use my loop station to create backup tracks.
Thank you so much David. Excellent video as usual. As you asked, here are some ideas for new topics : how to compose an intro, transitions between quite différent sections (rythm & tempo changes), slow playing / chill music, polyrythm, improvisation, hand independance exercises...
Like how you showed people to to alter video speed. Helpful BTW which pan are you using? Sounds like my absolute favorite from your comparison video... Nice bonus; diseases giving me a rough night, so I get to be awake to start my day with devotionals and beautiful pan music! Seriously ache to play one of these.... I know there are TONS of times, but that pan hits me. Thank you even if I can't feel the resonance through my fingers.
David thank you ! God bless you :) i can imagine how much work you put on it, and give it all for free :) unique in our times ! greetings from Poland ( Piotr )
This was such a good one !!!(the previous too, of course).........but this is soooo helpful especially for beginners. Thank you! Maybe you can make another one on transitions with pattern-changes. Where the rhythm from one part to the other is changed completely. Once you want to create longer compositions you can't do other than create nice rhythmical variations to spice up the piece and make it interesting from the beginning to the end. Without being too jazzy.......little surprises in a composition are so nice, but it is hard to make transitions that will connect the parts.
Thanks Subo, glad to hear it. You are right - I have a video planned on pattern changes (creating musical contrast and B-parts), but transitions is a good one as well.
I just got my very own handpan (C# Amara scale). I am far from trying my own compositions, but this is so fun to play and practice :) Even if I only play it at half of your speed :) Thanks David for your great videos!!
Hi David..Thx for the very interesting video sessions. You ask to mention a potential subject for another session... 😉So, perhaps you can briefly explain how to “move around on the tone fields” when there are some bottom notes and where are the difficults by playing those melodies 😀. See you next Friday....
Hey Sharon, glad this one works better for you. Check out the arpeggio video as well, there are lots of more basic patterns in it: ruclips.net/video/AeJB86_qgeo/видео.html
Another wonderful video for a master mentor like you. If one hears it deeply, there is a parallel sound coming in the background when you are hitting in the notes. Are you using a metronome or something as well please. Thanks !
What is the difference between note 8 and note 9? Your videos are helping me so much! And this is the only thing that seems unclear for me throughout the instructions at the moment. Thank you!
Thanks for reminding me to breath, I spent at least an hour to before getting there and I feel like I did not breath at all :-D. PS. That "subtle clicking sounds" noise, I can hear in many of your videos, is that how the ghost notes sounds on your pan? I thought it's a metronome. One more question do you write down a lot patterns when you explore before combining them?
🎬Getting stuck with a musical idea from time to time not knowing where to go with it? I hope these can help you with creating your own compositions, let me know if these tips work for you!👣👣😁
