Hi David, when I first saw your Intro I thougt I would never manage to learn this, but you explained it so great, that I now can do it, thank you so much
Hi David. I've been watching your training and I think you are doing a great job. Could you please suggest a good Hand Pan for me to buy online? Thank you!
I'm interested in learning more about playing the handpan with mallets. I'm a little concerned that it might damage the instrument, though. What are your thoughts on this?
I'm currently looking for a handpan. Even if the price is very high, there is some Zenko or cheaper instrument to train first if this instrument is for me. I really like your way to learn the Handpan. It's awesome and well explained !
Hi David Thanks for the lesson. I am a little confused by the rhythm as it starts with 113, 13, 113 by thereafter its 113,113,13. Sorry for being a little dull but my brain keeps wanting to do 113, 113,13 all the time. Is it necessary to start 113,13,113 ? Thanks for your help BW Jan
What scale are you using for this? Also does it matter for beginners which scale to buy? Im almost ready to buy my first ever HP. I like some Mystic and Ake Bono.
The instrument I play in most of my videos is an Ayasa handpan and the scale is F#m. I've written an article to help beginners choose their scale : www.masterthehandpan.com/blog/how-to-choose-the-scale-of-your-first-handpan
Hi David. Are you using a stand for your hand pan? If so where can I find one for my rav vast 2 drum? Thanks you for the beautiful lessons I am loving going through them
Hi David, have just found your lessons and I am really enjoying them, thanks! I am considering your course and just wondering if you feel it is completely applicable to Rav Vast playing as this is the instrument I'm learning on. Seem to be so far :)
I’m fascinated with these handpans, but am admittedly scared of one thing: the handpan you’re playing on starts at $500 and goes to $1,200 and up... I haven’t seen any beginner lessons using any of the $40 to $100 steel tongue handpans I’ve seen on eBay. Are the lesser expensive ones that crummy?
Yes, they are costly...but having a hand pan is like entering into a relationship - it takes an investment. First, you see the object of your desire - you focus and save, practice the rhythms and after a period - you have the money and you enter into the negotiations, make the commitment and finally you can begin to manifest the relationship. One of the easiest paths into the world of these instruments is through the RavVast...it is about half the financial cost; yes, it is a different drum altogether - but it’s in the family and you can become a player more easily.
Just great. Thanks. I can play this Arpeggio :) I received my handpan last week. I never played an instrument !!!!! I am 70 Yesssss

i love how you teach to feel it instead of pure theory, it helps a ton

Hey still looking for an instrument ?
I'm interested in learning more about playing the handpan with mallets. I'm a little concerned that it might damage the instrument, though. What are your thoughts on this?
Consider getting Manu Delago's masterclass. He addresses that in length. 👍

Thanks for your kind words! Zenko could be a great option. Make sure you have a central note if you ever plan to learn with this method. Cheers
David thank you.

Great !!
which scale is it?
For a tutorial like this, do I need a specific; HandPan -specific scale? Or will any HandPan do?
Nope you can follow with your own instrument and scale
Wonderful lesson! IN which Key is this handpan? I have a Native american flute in Am. I want to play together with a friend with these 2 instruments
F#m :)

Hi David, great lessons. But I can not find your website, would you please post your link?

This is great! But in my country handpans are difficult to buy because no one make it... I'm from argentina
How can you do it so fast
a bit of practice everyday :)
you could narrate paint drying and I would listen to it

i want a handpan so bad ; ; but they are so expensive
just go to bali and get one there, got mine at the drumfactory somewhere in Bali, I dont know where exactly but they cost around 800 euro's there
Just do what I do and handpan on the desk :-D

@@voidlaser02 That is not the handpan anyone needs to start out with. Yeah, they're cheaper but quality suffers a lot.
Chad Jarnigan I’m saving up for one. I ordered a 5.5 inch Steel tongue drum to start out with, (I can’t wait to get it) They’re like $60 on amazon.
Bonjour,
Est-ce vraiment important d'utiliser son majeur dans cet exercice?
J'arrive mieux à faire sonner ma note en utilisant mon indexe.
Oui tu peux utiliser le doigt que tu veux :)
