This is simply amazing, thank you for having such clear and concise teaching. I’m super grateful for this and I’ve been practicing a lot already. My dexterity is already building and I pray that you continue to make more instructional videos.
I watch this video everyday and learn something different, the I think it was natural harmonics you showed us was absolutely stunning. Thanks alot Jacob!
Thank you for this basic skill, the most boring part for beginners, but it is so very absolutely necessary, they didn't know this practice is gonna grow in time, rewarding as you go. Of course, patience is needed here. I appreciated you pointed out in this lesson, as it is applied to all drummings. Thank you.
Very very helpfull video to explore the paradiddle on the handpan! Have a handpan now for a few months and your video(s) are really helping me! You are a very talented guy! Thanks a lot mate and greetings from the Netherlands! Cheers
this is the best tutorial I have seen since I've started my handspan journey last year ..Thumbs up Jacob, looking forward for more future vids..thanks bro!!!!
Easy enough to understand which I so appreciate! Now for the building of my muscle memory! Thank you for posting this. I’m a beginner and this will be very helpful so thanks again. Please post more. I’ll subscribe now.
Hey Jacob, much appreciated for the lesson, and your time too. Very useful to me as l've just recently been practising & applying the paradiddle to the Handpan. Your finger techniques and rhythm method brings even more scope to it. Looking forward to your new album. Cheers, from Australia, mate!
Sick dude! I love paradiddles, even wrote a book about it! (for drums) But man on handpan I am discovering new ways to apply the paradiddle! Very interesting way and very logical actually! Great work dude!
Thanks man you have a great technique and a simple ease in your teachings. Much gratitude and look forward to spreading the joy of the pan. I'd love to know the details of your drum ie what material, what key / scale and maker, because that is one beautiful sound 🙏👍😊
@@JacobColePercussion i started watching various tutorial videos as i was thinking that i might invest in one, do you have any recommendations of which one to buy? thanks
Dude that's rocks!....can't really tell and not sure you mentioned it or not but are the palms of your hands resting on the drum or are they hovering over it?
My handpan sounds so tingy. Maybe it's because it's stainless steel and yours is nitride? I've tried hitting it softer and in the middle of the tone fields. Just can't get that clean sound you have. Thank you for the free videos though it's appreciated.
Stainless should not be tingy, I think the brand you mentioned is a mass produced pan from China. If that’s the case that could be a quality issue with the steel.
Hmm, I was a little concerned that might be the case. It is in tune though so at least there's that. 😔. The real downside to this is that I paid quite a bit for it as I'm Canadian and you know our dollar isn't that great. So this is my first handpan basically and given it's from one of the more prolific players out there , you know, Malte Marten. I thought I could trust buying from them. Well, I have a ways to go and it'll be good enough to learn with and then I'll get myself another. Out of curiosity what brand do you use, or what would you recommend?
Finally some clear and usefull lessons about how to learn to play this beautiful instrument. Thank you very much!
Dude! Wow! One of the most useful videos on handpan playing I have seen. Thank you 🙏🏻 so much for sharing your technique

Dear Jacob
I notice that your HANDPAN is doubled sided. What size is it and where did you order it from? I only intend to order a 17”, 6 note one!
What scale is this handpan tuned to?
D / G A C D Eb F# G A
Wow
What scale is your pan J.

Dear Jacob
I’ve written an email to you about private lessons. Are your lessons expensive? Do you have any free courses?
Speeding up really ruins the sound and fluidity , but I understand its for show purpose
Anton Gee you must practice slow for a long period before you will be able to play fast smoothly, take your time! ;)
Eahb, thank you
What scale is this handpan?
