Great video by the way! I'd be curious to understand the hydrophobic properties of the PPF compared to ceramic coating. I.e. does the PPF lose it hyrdrophobic properties and shine (even though it will protect from bush scratches longer than ceramic? I've got a black WT on order which won't go off-road so not sure if PPF worth the extra investment - but do want the black to look shiny as long as possible. (Should have put PPF on my LC200 which did does have bush stripes on the sides). Will the PPF need a polish or ceramic applied in a couple of years to bring it back to the same level of shine?

Ceramic coating is a good option - however generally only lasts a few years and needs to be reapplied so that’s also something to consider. Ceramic certainly makes cleaning easier than no protection on the paint.
PPF is a big cost investment so is not for everyone. It’s essentially the best you can get, so if planning to keep the vehicle long-term could be something to consider. Congrats on the new car purchase 👍

What brand and % windo tint you running? And why didn't you do the front bumper?

Does the heat of the sub can stand the PPF? What if your car was park outside scorching the heat of the sun then suddenly rainfall. Does the PPF will not damage? How much does it cost in SUV and Pickup? Comparing to Nano Coating Vs. PPF which is lthe best and last longer? New subs here❤❤❤
Main thing with PPF is only wash with PH neutral washes (so no auto car washes etc). It’s design to handle the heat, rain etc. Haven’t had any issues with what you have mentioned above - you’ll get water marks if it dries suddenly, but if these don’t wipe off with a microfibre rag, there are some PPF safe water mark remover sprays on the market.
Re cost it will vary quite a bit based on size of car and if you’re wrapping all panels vs just the areas which are most prone to scratches.
Ceramic coatings are very different to PPF. It will make cleaning easier and repel water, but won’t protect against scratches or stone chips - and will generally last 3-5 years only depending on the product you use and care of car.
PPF is a self healing film so will generally last up to 10 years. The Premium Shield product is guaranteed to 10 years if cared for correctly. Cost wise could be up to $8k if doing a full ute, but a lot of people will only do the bonnet, headlights and sides of the car. There are cheaper products on the market but will be differences in quality.
Suggest if you’re interested and in WA, give Aaron a call at Dentless and he can give you some options. If outside of WA, worth looking at some reviews in your local area. Hope that helps.
How much did that set you back? I've ordered the everest platinum in black and want this done to it too. I'm based in Sydney.
Not a cheap exercise. Full coverage will cost around $8k (minus bumper) but as I mentioned in the videos you can do as much, or as little as you like. Sides will set you back around $4370. One of those things you can do as much, or as little as you like. The quality of PPF can vary also from brand to brand so best to do your research and if unsure, Aaron at Dentless would be happy to give you some advice. The product on my vehicle is called Premium Shield.

@@paultabone2010 Not sure mate you can scratch the crap out of the panels and respray them 10 years later for that money. Fact is people will spend money on a new car and baby it but won't on a 10 year old car
Am thinking the same thing. What is the cost to totally rap the Ute/truck? I believe the total cost to fully repaint would be 10k or less. In saying this I very much like the idea. Just comes down to economics . My new truck when I purchase will not be garaged, stored facing north. Hence I very much like the idea especially for stone chips and resulting rust.
@@darrensmith4661 not cheap. You’re looking around 8k for vehicle but you are retaining original paint vs cost on instal. Also to weigh up the time savings of cleaning - I can do car in a fraction of the time as before as I can be quite rough - any scratches in cleaning will disappear. A bit to weigh up and depends how long you plan to keep the car etc

@@Jessemakesvids yes definitely cheaper mate but depends which way you want to go. If you want to retain original paint and not cut back with deep polish then wrap is best but comes at a cost. Plus deep scratches can be incredibly hard to remove. Previous vehicle was white and hit the scratches pretty well. Black and dark metallics are a different story
Had a clear wrap on a black Mazda 6 years ago & it was the worst mistake I ever made.
It last only about 18 months before it started to break down.
After about 21 months, it started to crack & it went all Smokey & then started to flake off.
Worst money I’ve ever spent, never again !😢
That sucks. I’ve gone with a high quality product that comes with a 10yr warranty so they must have confidence in their product. Sorry to hear your experience wasn’t good

Absolutely, although for the cost involved you’d want to keep it wrapped as long as possible. The Premium Shield PPF comes with a 10yr warranty, but can last longer if you look after it
