*APR Turbo Kit for 991.2 Carrera / S*
flat6motorspor...
Thanks for this.. you sold me... Just did the upgrade and got some custom tunes. And wow!!! You were not kidding, pulls away from any 991 turbo S
I have a 991.2 base Carrera with these turbos, APR stage 3 tune, IPD plenum, AMS intercoolers, BMC filter, Soul Performance full sport exhaust and headers. I haven't tried the e85 yet but this setup is crazy. The rolling 60-130 is insane fast and feels like a baby turbo S.
That must be a fast, fast car. I'm considering those same upgrades. Have you clocked the 1/4 mile time yet??
@@thomasferrarojr.9772 I have not yet. I Will soon. I have a draggy somewhere inside the car, i dropped it snd since it has a magnet its stuck and i cant find it
@@willyf17 Haha, I did the same. That thing gets lost easy. I think with all those mods, you might be faster than a Turbo S. I ran a 154 mph half mile yesterday, launch was not great with all the torque and fairly cold tires/ground. I think I could have eked out 156. There were stock Turbo S's running 158-160. I'm only APR tuned on 91 octane. Your car will fly and I'm certain exceed those speeds easy.
@@thomasferrarojr.9772 I did about 162 mph rolling though. I want to say for a quarter to maybe half a mile. At 145 it went into 5th gear and the car took off again and when i looked down i was already at 162. I get my new wheels the first week of Jan. I will track it then
Are you guys running a flex fuel program? Not having to worry about e85 & 93octane mix or long trips between e85 stations?
I had to stop the video at about 2minutes bro.. You nailed it on the intro and the detailing.. At 2 minutes the video was already very interesting. Love it
Sheeeeesh, not a cheap modification but cheap compared to buying a GTS from factory
Love it! Probably my 3rd time to watch. Looking at Carrera T just for this APR kit. Nice and concise review. Finding a CT is a bit harder.
The T is a nice spec but they're all good! If you haven't seen our video on the broader topic, check it out: ruclips.net/video/P0e1eQgRExo/видео.html
I have billet K04s on my B5 S4 and I wonder if that would help this cars response. K04s FTW. (Old rs4 terbs).
So if you already own a 991.2 gts all you need is a APR STAGE 3 TUNE for those huge gains?
Yes, it would just be a Stage 1 map (offered by APR or Cobb) for the GTS and the net result will be the same!
@Flat 6 Motorsports You mentioned an option from Pure Turbos for extreme performance. Are there any other supporting mods that would be needed to run the Pure Turbo setup? For Example would you need to build the engine in order for it to run safely? I currently have an Audi TT RS on E85, but I'm would like the handling and control of the 911. Thanks in advance.
I believe you emailed, we'll respond back there with some options and hardware needed to obtain your goals. Thanks for the comment!
Love this. Looking for a Carrera T!
Thanks for the video! I will do this with you all soon!
Where are you located, and what is the approximate cost of a mod like this, parts and labor? Nice work. Thanks.

Looks rowdy!! Is it possible to use the COBB Accessport to load the APR files and flash back to stock or does the use of the Accessport require COBB OTS and custom maps only?
So APR makes this kit and does their own tuning. We can offer support with the Cobb Accessport but this is a turnkey package. The turbos are backordered except through APR.
So tial has the most power then pure then gts? Also they all spool at the same time? Also cannot make up my mind between APR and Cobb if I decide to go with GTS OEM turbo
TiAL and Pure are very similar with power.
Is it possible to have the APR maps loaded on the Accessport? I believe that’s what you stated but I wanted to verify. Thanks in advance!
APR and Cobb are 2 different tuners. We're just mentioning we can support a custom tune via the Cobb Accessport for folks who already have an accessport or would rather go that route versus the APR tune.
Which side skirts are those? They look like 4/4S flared style...
You are missing the big intercoolers !
What wheels are those on the car? They look insane!
I would like to see more 991.2 Carrera video's focused on power options. I hear a base + headers + tune = 500 bhp, but I have not seen anyone prove it. What can Flat 6 show for options?
We have quite a few videos and will get more over time. Check out our channel. We also have this guide to help get an understanding on the various power levels: flat6motorsports.com/pages/991-2-carrera-power-kits-by-flat-6-motorsports
Does this put excessive wear and tear on all of the other components of the engine/car? How much is a tune like this
?
More information can be found here: flat6motorsports.com/pages/991-2-carrera-power-kits-by-flat-6-motorsports
What upgrades do you have to do to run e85 other than tune?
With the APR tune, nothing. Their map can support e60-e85.
@@Flat6Motorsports perspective 991.2 buyer here.. can you run flex fuel setup(spark adjusts by e%) or only dedicated e85 or 93 in car?
@@Poppacapp1234 as you see the jury is out...but the jury foreman is leaning to the flex fuel
You didn’t really seem to have any issues with traction. What tires are you guys using?
I don't recall on this particular car. Eagle F1s, Michelin PS4S or Pirelli P Zeros (among others) are built for the task at these power levels. The benefit of a rear mounted Flat 6!
@@Flat6Motorsports awesome. Thanks for the feedback.
Does the stock clutch on a manual version hold up with that power or upgrade of clutch needed?
Stock clutch is sufficient
Have a 991.2 T and just starting to go down the mapping/mod rabbit hole. Any thoughts here appreciated

The S turbos are much more preferable for city driving and instant on throttle boost. The Gts has what it seems a .5 sec longer lag which is a big deal for regular driving.
I have never noticed any lag in my GTS. Ive driven the S as well. I've also driven the 992 S and it seems the same as my GTS. I'm always curious as to this lag people talk about.
Does it struggle to put the power down on E85? Have you used launch control on the E85 map? If so, is sub 3 0-60 seconds possible?
We didn't notice any major issues with traction. Sub 3 is probably possible.
@@Flat6Motorsports the trade off for sub 3 will be...lol
@@effemesseyeveethefourth2841 decent conditions
So is changing large turbos and cobb tuning is enough? I’m daily driving mine
Yes, it's a very reliable set-up.
Can the PDK reliably handle 700 HP?
Yes, it requires a PDK tune though.
@@Flat6Motorsports how much will a manual hold?
@@vr4junkie385 We haven't seen any issues with around 580-600whp.
the base carrera 992 is it easy to get more power similar to the s?
Yes, very simple. All you need is a Cobb Accessport (Stage 1): flat6motorsports.com/products/cobb-tuning-access-port-v3-991-2-carrera
Does it matter if a car is manual or pdk?
Nope
Are there any turbos that have the same or less turbo lag?
Very similar in terms of boost spool up.
how reliable is the bottom end? Do these hold up to the boost?
Very durable, used in the new 992 Turbo.
Nice !!!
Can this be upgrade be done on a 991.1 S?
Nope, the engines are completely different, the 991.1 is designed to be a NA motor.
"very nice specced car" - *plastic doorcover shows up*
Cost for the work done on this setup?
We perform services in the Orlando, FL area. If you need a quote, please email us at info@flat6motorsports.com. The turbos aren't that involved but would depend on other possible components being done at the same time.
Hard to see how it would be a Turbo S Killer with 648hp to rear wheels only.
Considering the 992 Turbo S' make about 545whp on our dyno (991's even less), they make more power and are lighter in weight. Traction isn't a huge issue with decent tires on the RWD 911s.
Can this kit pass California emissions?
It is CARB pending
Wonder what an upgrade in exhaust manifolds or switching to a turbo header would do 🤔
wait you with bmws at home and porsche at job? lol? or is it twin brother? hehe
...Mactan clone, lol
Turbo s killer 😂
