Block wall, barbecue or well? The shed/house has no down pipes so they were not collecting water from there.

Such an interesting place. Maybe someone took the water tanks away to use or sell for scrap? It is common to make houses out of sheds here. Great trees and wildlife, too bad someone didn't take it over. Those doors are weathering very well and I love them.

Ratsak usually signals an overrun of mice or rats, which has happened here in Australia.
However, nice chance find. Amazing how people live off the grid.

Found this kinda of late, but the bird sounds are absolutely wonderful. You take care. Oh the urine oder could be from rate and mice droppings be careful.
Would love to go with you to some of these places to get cuttings from some of the plants.That cactus could have been dragon fruit.
Maybe they had an old water truck or just filled up a reservoir kept in the back of a truck. Probably a lot easier than other solutions when setting up a place like this on a budget. Place has a lot of character. I bet when it was fresh it was a great place to live.
