You know a song is good when it causes Greece and Cyprus not to exchange 12 points.
I love how people booed when San Marino gave Italy 12 in 2011 because they probably thought it'd be a regular thing, given geography. Little did they know that that'd be the only time San Marino ever gave Italy 12, since they don't use a televote. Since then, there have only been two more times that San Marino put Italy in their top three (15 and 16) and at least one year (14) where they didn't even vote for them!
Well, that sure changed in 2019. Even they couldn't deny Mahmood.
I love how at 10:22 the crowd thought the Norwegian Jury was going to give the set of 12 points to Sweden as they shouted "SWEDEN!", then the spokesperson proceeded:
"Italy!".

With the old voting system, we would've gotten 12's in 2017 from Albania, Malta and Montenegro, and in 2018 from Albania, Malta, Serbia and Cyprus

Fair to say that Italy are quite popular among the other Romantic countries and/or countries along the Mediterranean (also Finland, for whatever reason). They're so powerful they're broken up the Cyprus/Greece bloc more than once! In any case, the hybrid system would've been kind to them the last two years: 2017 would've seen Albania and Malta joined by Montenegro in rewarding our favorite dancing gorilla, and 2018 would've seen twelves from Albania, Cyprus, Malta, and Serbia.
Six more joined in 2019. A warm welcome back to San Marino, Malta, Germany, and a complete welcome to Belgium, Germany and Croatia - even though Germany gave us 12 points with televoters in 2018, but they obviously weren't announced as the televote was announced as a cumulative thing
