Good evening guys! Thank you for dropping in on my latest video. Ever since I've owned 'Leona' my £250 SEAT Leon Cupra R I've wondered whether she's remapped and what power she is pushing out. Well, there was only one way to find out and once more it meant a trip up to Surrey Rolling Road to see what's what. What's your prediction? Let me know in the comment section below.
Of course there's a little question of tyres tyre tread and tyre pressures that might affect the reading and possibly a good run down the motorway beforehand 😁
Just buy a BAM ECU and you'll get 220hp instantly. These early AMK engines were de-tuned to 207hp/210ps, but an ECU swap is all you need. In an ideal world you'd put an Audi TT BFV ECU in there for an instant 235ish, but they're as rare as hen's teeth.
I didn't think it would be mapped otherwise it would be spinning up in first and second. My friends one was running 270bhp but with p4s it gripped well
Don't know about 200bhp I've always been the slowest to move off from the lights either because I want the car ahead to get some distance before picking up speed or because the next red light isn't usually far away lol

I thought mine was mapped too, interesting to see she's standard. Also my reg was RX03EXR (do you see the symmetry in that number plate) black 210bhp model, i did have a forge short shifter, forge diverter valve, ebc drilled discs and forodo pads... And Weitec coilovers fitted by PSI tuning in stoke which where great! Maybe a couple of other things too, however i kept the engine standard because she was around 130k miles at the time. All services and most of the work done between PSI and Awesome GTi. MOTs were quite costly, so will be interested to see ehat you find when the time comes. It was difficult for me at 21 to be paying for £1k+ mots every year. I loved that it had brembos, ronal alloys, 6-cd changer in glove box and recaro branded seats as standard (optional extras). Thought you'd like that the plates are very similar :)

The car isn't named after a person; like many SEAT cars, it's named after a place in Spain. I didn't think a female name would as controversial as it seems you are making it out to be 😅.
@@CarObsession Assigning a sex to a material object, why ? Would you do the same with a bicycle or skate board, do you have a biro with a sex/name? Sorry for planting the questions on this platform, but its part of a paper i am doing regarding people giving sexuality to objects, just gathering peoples thoughts on the subject
I think you're missing the point a bit. As petrolheads, we see cars as more than just a lump of metal, they're members of the family . It's not unusual for cars to have a name, look at 'Eleanor' in 'Gone In 60 Seconds'. No, I wouldn't assign a biro a sex or name as I have no emotional attachment to it, it's just a tool for writing. A car is so much more than just a means to get from A to B. They are memory makers, joy bringers and also wallet drainers 😅.
