And let's not forget bass fishing heroes like the Bass Professor Doug Hannon, Dr. Loren Hill, Rick Clunn, Tom Mann, Jack Smithwick, Cotton Cordell, Ray Scott, Johnny Morris, Virgil Ward, Buck Perry, Don Butler, Fred C. Young, Alex Langer, and many others, whom all had significant contributions to the bass fishing tackle industry. And don't overlook grandpa's old fishing lures! Do they still work? Each year we looked forward to the Bassmaster Classic to see who would be king of the bass fishing world and what the best bass fishing lure would be for that year. Back when you had to call an 1-800 number to reach Bass Pro Shops or Cabela's, and there was no such thing as Google Maps or Googan Baits.
