I still wear a veil, and i think this poet is the best.. I still wear a veil, and i hope those minds can still be fixed.. I do wear a veil, oh believe me when i'm telling you: I AM NOT OPPRESSED.
Farah probably went through circumstances that made her take her hijab off. from what I know, she studies in France ( La Sorbonne which is a bit too French , secular and classy as a Uni) I study in France too and I started wearing hijab in this country. for the moment nothing is against it and I can wear it freely at Uni with no problems with studies nor teachers. but you know the perspective of hijab here is way too negative :-/ I actually started working at McDonald's as it is mandatory to have a professional experience before graduation year at Uni and I have to take it off unfortunately. Allah is Merciful and we ask him forgiveness.
The fact that you're not wearing it right now does change everything..It simply means you dont respect it anymore..Its your choice just dont make poems justifying it..
No , it doesn't. I live in US and I previously lived in Middle East. The problem with wearing it is that people wouldn't look at you as an individual ,but as a religious symbol. It is hard for them to distinguish your voice. I think she took it off for poetry ,so people would hear her. It is not a requirement and I love it ,but if I had to take it off to prove a statement or to be heard I will.

I can respect you for ending world hunger, but it doesn't mean that I'll do it myself... Respect and doing are two different things.
