  • How to fix the AC vent problem on your Ford Van or Ambulance like my 2000 Ford Ambulance that had this problem.
The problem is when you turn on your vent air or AC no air comes out of your cab AC vents it only is coming out of your top defrost vent on the top of the dash.
This is a common problem on older Ford vans and trucks with the Ford front like a cutaway or an ambulance. Here is how to fix it with 3 low-cost parts.
As part of our ambulance conversion, I had to fix this problem to get the AC and air working right out of the AC vents. It's not a hard job to do.
I made this video to show and help anyone that has this same problem how to fix it fast and easily.
Here is a link to the 3 parts I ordered on Amazon.
    The Vacum hose 6 feet

The valve T connector you will need

And the Ford Reservoir black box you will need.

Fantastic video, solving my current a/c not blowing out the dash vents problem, on my recently purchased 2009 E350 cutaway bus. Your parts list is a great time saver for me. Thank you for creating the informative video and parts listing

Awesome information, and when you think how much it would cost to have it brought to a place where they work on A/C systems , plus the parts you can get real cheap

I have a 06 E450 and the heat blows on the floor all the time. It burns my feet through shoes. Would this help that? It's like the floor heat is on all day

Most of the time you can disconnect the vacuum line on top of the dash. Then spray just a tiny amount of WD-40 into it and reconnect. It has worked on 3-4 vans that I have repaired and my own. Long as the actuator/actuators aren’t bad. Otherwise this is a great down and dirty work around.

I'd like to try your method first, which line on the dash do I need to spray wd 40 into? Which color or location? Thanks.

Did it work for you? I have the same problem, mine is intermittent right now, if I cycle the knob from vent from air to vent i eventually get it blowing thru my front vents again. It works for 15 then quits and I have to recycle..

NO! My debts are stuck on NORM A/C. I can't get my vents to turn to defrost. Do you know how irritating it is to constantly have air conditioning blowing?
How do I fix it. I'm dying here.

Another even cheaper fix is to remove the access panel on top of the dash and just tie the servo that controls the ac doors in the open position and call it good. You’ll won’t have access to the heat and defrost vents anymore. It’ll be 100% dash, but if you’re in Florida like me, who cares. 😂

Try Vantage optics, they sell a kit. You also should be able to get a generic reservoir from any auto parts store. The vantage optics also has a how to video.
