    He puts the same amount of focus and intensity into 135 as 800's, really shows you the mentality of the world's strongest man

      Honestly, that is just a common part of being serious about getting stronger. What makes him one of the strongest men int he world is the combination of consistency, being able to work through barriers like finances, ect.., and the fact that he is always on top of his game trying to better himself. World class athletes never get complacent.
      (You weren't wrong at all, I guess I just wanted to add some stuff.)

    Awesome stuff Brian! You along with Larry Wheels got me in to powerlifting! Unfortunately I wasn't blessed with the insane 6'8" height, but even at a small 5'6" 162 pounds, i finally met my year goal of hitting a 405 deadlift raw PR! You're an inspiration!

      I’m also relatively small at 5’8” 176LBS, but I’m only 17 and can do 500+ on deadlift, goal is 600+ soon but planning on gaining some weight like 20 some odd pounds then I’ll take it from there, best of luck to you too man Brian and Larry were my exact motivation to start lifting too

      Nope. I tried it once, chalked up my hands, clapped hard, walked up to the deadlift bar with 500lbs on it, gave it a pull and it didn't move. It was at that moment I realized that the chalk and clapping hands are not a source of power...

    It's an awesome reminder and humbling to see that Brian starts his warmup at 135 and watch the intention and focus he shows on the reps. No different than the focus he puts on an 800lb rep. The mark of a true professional.

    This is actually what I do when I wake up every morning... I have a barbell with 600lbs on it and roll out of bed and pick it up. It’s a great way to warm up your back and make sure your hamstrings are working for the day.... haha but in all seriousness sooo impressive!!!!

    The thing I love and respect is the respect that Brian shows the weight. Sure, its just picking something up and putting it down again but his intelligence and methodology is great to watch. 60kg gets treated the same as 300kg, always. I think not doing this is something we all fall victim to. I know I do.

      Definitely. I noticed that when he only had the one plate on each side. We all know he could most likely use that much weight for skullcrushers or something and he treated it like it was 1000lbs. That is dedication to a routine.

    Also thank you for inspiring me to start strongman this year, I have set so many legendary goals that I plan to pursue in the future and I will try to make this year the best yet, I want to thank you so much for inspiring me to be great and positive again, yet humble past all of my achievements! Hope to see you win World’s Strongest Man a 5th time in 2019! Looking forward to a great year again! (Edit 2021) I am now at the 500+ mark on deadlift, 450+ mark on squat, and 340+ mark on bench press, doing more powerlifting training until after high school is over then starting strongman more or less. Goals are the same, just a different path now 💪🏼
