Honestly, that is just a common part of being serious about getting stronger. What makes him one of the strongest men int he world is the combination of consistency, being able to work through barriers like finances, ect.., and the fact that he is always on top of his game trying to better himself. Great video Brian. You inspire me not only in lifting and all that, you inspire me in posting on RUclips. Thanks for all the wonderful motivation man. You are the best.
Awesome stuff Brian! You along with Larry Wheels got me in to powerlifting! Unfortunately I wasn't blessed with the insane 6'8" height, but even at a small 5'6" 162 pounds, i finally met my year goal of hitting a 405 deadlift raw PR! You're an inspiration!
I’m also relatively small at 5’8” 176LBS, but I’m only 17 and can do 500+ on deadlift, goal is 600+ soon but planning on gaining some weight like 20 some odd pounds then I’ll take it from there, best of luck to you too man Brian and Larry were my exact motivation to start lifting too
Nope. I tried it once, chalked up my hands, clapped hard, walked up to the deadlift bar with 500lbs on it, gave it a pull and it didn't move. It was at that moment I realized that the chalk and clapping hands are not a source of power...
As a fellow big and tall man, I really enjoy watching your training videos! You’ve really inspired me to start getting into weightlifting (although I’m not able to lift as heavy as you lol)
It's an awesome reminder and humbling to see that Brian starts his warmup at 135 and watch the intention and focus he shows on the reps. No different than the focus he puts on an 800lb rep. The mark of a true professional.
Love your content Brian. Between you and Martins it’s cool to get this kind of in depth insight into how an elite Strongman competitor trains and lives.
Brian I really love your videos and you really motivate me to get bigger and stronger! Yesterday I tried my first PR for deadlift and got 185 and I'm always excited to get back after it!
This is actually what I do when I wake up every morning... I have a barbell with 600lbs on it and roll out of bed and pick it up. It’s a great way to warm up your back and make sure your hamstrings are working for the day.... haha but in all seriousness sooo impressive!!!!
I'm a big guy, but it's mind boggling how small he makes a normal bar and 135 look. Looks more normal when he's pulling the truck tires and a modified bar.
The thing I love and respect is the respect that Brian shows the weight. Sure, its just picking something up and putting it down again but his intelligence and methodology is great to watch. 60kg gets treated the same as 300kg, always. I think not doing this is something we all fall victim to. I know I do.
Definitely. I noticed that when he only had the one plate on each side. We all know he could most likely use that much weight for skullcrushers or something and he treated it like it was 1000lbs. That is dedication to a routine.
Also thank you for inspiring me to start strongman this year, I have set so many legendary goals that I plan to pursue in the future and I will try to make this year the best yet, I want to thank you so much for inspiring me to be great and positive again, yet humble past all of my achievements! Hope to see you win World’s Strongest Man a 5th time in 2019! Looking forward to a great year again! (Edit 2021) I am now at the 500+ mark on deadlift, 450+ mark on squat, and 340+ mark on bench press, doing more powerlifting training until after high school is over then starting strongman more or less. Goals are the same, just a different path now 💪🏼
Brian!! You got this!!! You got 2019 WSM and Arnold Strong Man! Just a moment ago I was feeling lazy, laying on my floor contemplating if I should take my sons offer to go to the gym after he comes out of work...after watching this video I feel like I’m at the top of mountain, that deadlift session was awesome. Even for someone who is as y’all as you, doing a damn near squat....a Front-Arms Down-Dead Squat Lift! lol
@Birdman PB That's not what I said, but ok. All I meant was that Brian also weighs a lot -- in this case, nearly as much as the bar -- and that's just crazy to comprehend as well.
Good he shows what it actually takes to be your best. Too many young lifters do far too little, too worried about overtraining, and do not understand the requirements.
Brian - AWESOME Video!! You're not only strong, but an amazing Gentle Giant of Men and who posses an onscreen personality. God Bless you and your family for an amazing 2019!! Happy New Year!
Nice video Brian can’t wait to see you compete at the Arnold, also just a compliment I love how consistent your breaths are from the first lift all the way past 350kg just awesome I wish I had control like that
He puts the same amount of focus and intensity into 135 as 800's, really shows you the mentality of the world's strongest man
Honestly, that is just a common part of being serious about getting stronger. What makes him one of the strongest men int he world is the combination of consistency, being able to work through barriers like finances, ect.., and the fact that he is always on top of his game trying to better himself. It's called discipline 👌💪
This Dude Very well said brother
Exactly 👍
if you lift light weights like they're heavy, you'll lift heavy weights like they're light.
Brian Shaw: not the strongman we deserve, But the strongman we needed.
He’s too good and pure for us man
I dont get how he could lose to Thor.. that overhead press, how could he lose to him! I was so dsaippointed that Thor won WSM
Hi Brian!
Martins Licis cute
A little depressing that your comment fell so flat ahaha.
Brian, I am in the marine corps and am currently stationed in Africa, your videos have really helped me get into lifting. Keep it up brother, you’re a beast
How's the gym in Africa?
Jmac Bourne44 awesome brother! Stay strong out there
Thank you for fighting for us
Appreciate your service!
Love this guy's training ethic. He maxes more than 900 lbs yet warms up with 135 for reps every time. Stay humble
Glad to see you got Dom’s warmup weight ready
He uses that as a door stop
Dom doesnt do legs
Skirtin BED he doesn’t need to he’s too *stronk*
"I get all the legs I need running from my problems" our lord and savior Dom
Skirtin BED yeah dom deadlifts with all lower back

You should make a playlist on Spotify and share it!
There is something so satisfying about watching a well preformed deadlift.
These raw training videos with no music or edit is the best. Good shit man. Hope you win the Arnold and WSM this year.
Love your content Brian. Between you and Martins it’s cool to get this kind of in depth insight into how an elite Strongman competitor trains and lives.
I love the fact that you can tell Brian doesn’t take anything for granted. It’s awesome to see considering you don’t see it very often anymore.

You’re in great shape right now Brian, keep it up!
Watching him pick up my max like it nothing is so demotivating yet motivating at the same time
Once I was doing a deadlift and when I lifted the bar up it hit my balls and I died for a solid hour or 10
Middle tuck that bitch
Happened when I pulled 315 for 2, hurts like hell
Im lucky man, with my leverages i can`t hit my dick
My balls are so small I don't have to worry about hitting them.
😆 Yeah, you can't let slide up your legs.. it will grab your package on the way. Especially with heavy weights. Shit hurts like a mutha
What a savage. tearing up your leg with the bar and just keep going
I love watching these sessions.
I love it. No bands. No chains. Just big ass weight! I wanna see Brian compete in a powerlifting meet and beat Thor's total.
