35 minute run time was something I wasn't looking for, but knowing that I've never deadlifted properly I decided to put myself in Eddie's hands. Everything you need is in the first ten minutes.

Thanks bro, all the stuff from u and Shaw is killer. I actually saw u before I knew who u we’re at the Phili Art museum. You were so huge and saw The Beast Tattoo. I googled you and found your channel and have really helped me get into lifting so Thanks man
I hurt my back deadlifting three times. Since then, I watch this video every month, and I learn something new. I no longer deadlift heavy, but every time I deadlift now, it feels like a Sunday stroll. The deadlift is tough because it's very easy to cheat on it, where you cannot do the same on squat or bench. As a result, I see so many guys at the gym lifting weights much heavier than they should because they want to look like the biggest mother***** in the gym. TAKE IT SLOW on the front bar deadlift. Your back will thank you in your thirties, forties, and fifties.
Eddie, what was your deadlift training programme like preparing for the 500kg? Did you deadlift daily, weekly? Did you do different deadlift variations etc? I think this would be a great video to go in-depth about.

I've watched that video several times. I think part of the problem he had the head rush was because they / he held the weight up for such a long time. I'm glad he hasn't given them up. I still deadlift 405 for 6-8 reps 3 days a week at my current body weight of 175. It's a nice comfortable weight. Plust i work ten hour shifts. So my 3 day all in one day power lifting workouts work well for me this way. I borrowed it from reg park.
And that use to work 14hours a day, trained 4 hours and worked the doors 6hours and only slept 5hours all in a 24hour day. The math don't work out but that's only in a normal person's brain

Its so cool listening to the best explain how they do things. Some do it better than others, Hall just so happens to have a really good way of explaining.
6' 2" here. I just started in August, and quickly built to the 225lbs, and I had a mental block since I see 2 - 45lbs plates per side as a lot. I could do that and 245lbs 10 max and nothing more for months. Then I used the rubber weights and miscalculated what i put on and fooled my mental block. Now I can do 11 reps at 285lbs with good form, but 3 at 315lbs with poor form! I think my weakpoint now is my forearms with my upper back being a close #2. Unlike other exercises, this winds me like cardio after a heavy set.

No he is just still sweating from the 500kg lift

Just from watching this video and adjusting my set up on deadlift and how to do it I’ve suddenly jumped 20kg to my 5x5 deadlift since last week! You are a legend and love your videos
I find Eddie so inspirational. I love his no bullsh*t way of getting things done💪🏼
Edward my boy, havent even watched the full video yet, but a "how to deadlift" from the deadlift god himself deserves an instant like 😊
Oh man, This is the ONLY correct and most INFORMATIVE instructions I have ever heard in all youtubers.
"Lifting weights is so yesterday, its all about lifting people" - Eddie Hall (The Beast)
I paused the video, came back to it and read your comment before continuing the video and the next sentence he said was that lmfaooo what a way to get back into the video
Bro thanks for the info , I’m a 56 year old Man that decided to start training for powerlifting several months ago! You info is greatly appreciated my friend I have your videos saved and go through them constantly !! I have my first!! power lifting comp. I’m March I know I’ll do well because of your help .Keep it up Beast mode💪🏽✌🏽🇺🇸
Really happy to see Eddie's channel grow slowly and steadily.
He definitely deserves millions of subs.
Without doubt, the best deadlift instruction vidoe I've ever seen. Clear, easy, and concise. I'm going to watch this before everytime I do my back.
Eddie got so dehydrated teaching us, thank you Eddie. May your fluids replenish eternally.
Thank you! The best video any strongman has posted in quite some time! Great info from the best.
Send this to Robert Oberst!
Hit my deadlift pb by 10kg tonight thanks to this. After watching I found out I didn’t stand close enough to the bar on my set up, big love beast!
27:20 Lactose free milk isnt made by removing the sugar lactose but rather by adding the enzyme lactase, therefore the sugar content is the same as regular milk. They do make ultrafiltered milk now where a lot of the sugars have been removed.
That simple A to B philosophy just made my deadlifts so much more efficient!
I would have totally bought this as an ebook. Yet you are sharing it for free??
Long live the king!!
shhh dont mention selling anything to these guys
Was that 3 sets of Deadlift at 260kg (after warming up with a lighter progression) and then 2-3 sets of two super set upper back movements? I think that's what he said right?
This is the only man that can make a deadlift tutorial that I’d listen to.
Anyone else wondering where are Eddie's legendary sleeveless hoodies? I thought they were glued on.
For the times in life you’re cold and hot at the same time.
Think environmental health had them condemned, lol
I knew this video was coming soon as Oberst said what he said about deadlifting on JRE
Thought the same thing
What did he say?
@@Jacob-le6nh look into it

@@Jacob-le6nh he said deadlift isn't worth doing because of the risk of injury, idk why you haven't just watched the clip though
35 minute run time was something I wasn't looking for, but knowing that I've never deadlifted properly I decided to put myself in Eddie's hands. Everything you need is in the first ten minutes.
Man I was so happy for you when u finally won the WSM nobody deserved it more than The Beast!!! Huge fan Eddie
im REALLY curious how he would look like with bodyfat at under 10%
That would just be scary seeing that
he'll look a lot older
@Jim Levy hahahahahaha
I wonder what weight he'd be at
He would lose muscle while losing body fat tho
Not only did i get a good video on deadlifting but a good motivational one as well.
Eddie should do work out guides he teaches this stuff real well
Anything that has Eddie Hall and a deadlift is essential viewing...period. No one comes close, because of both Eddie’s achievements and the huge knowledge base he has. You can learn so much.
Hafthor
deadlifting like a cat taking a shit? I'm going to have to watch my cat the next time he takes a shit now...I thought he was using good form
You can watch some Infinitelgintensity for some cat-taking-a-shit-deadlift
🤣
Eddie was making the point that so many people incorrectly round their back when deadlifting....which is what a cat does when using the litter box.
Make sure your cat is actually taking a shit and not just deadlifting
hahaha, my kind of humour :)
Thanks bro, all the stuff from u and Shaw is killer. I actually saw u before I knew who u we’re at the Phili Art museum. You were so huge and saw The Beast Tattoo. I googled you and found your channel and have really helped me get into lifting so
Thanks man
Nice one brother 👍👍👍
Great shout.
seconded, that would be fantastic
Pretty sure he has a video about him preparing for the lift
There are some videos about that. Deadlift once a week. One session speed reps and one heavy session the next week.
I have started my pilgrimage from Finland to the United Kingdom. I will walk all the way to the UK and touch that deadlift bar. Then I will turn Super Saiyan. Wish me luck.

Eddie, I think you forgot to mention you deadlifted 500kg...
;) Awesome video, really informative
Oliver Slaney he did
50cal Elite Sniper I think he’s being sarcastic bc Eddie mentions it all the time....hey I would too.
kmfiz true true 😅
I've watched that video several times. I think part of the problem he had the head rush was because they / he held the weight up for such a long time. I'm glad he hasn't given them up. I still deadlift 405 for 6-8 reps 3 days a week at my current body weight of 175. It's a nice comfortable weight. Plust i work ten hour shifts. So my 3 day all in one day power lifting workouts work well for me this way. I borrowed it from reg park.
First Brian uploads and then Eddie does. For once he's not late.
The Unholy Messiah with of course eddie doing something to brian in the thumbnail
Brian's a week behind Eddie
Eddie, first thing he says when he comes into a room of strangers: "500kg deadlift"
And that use to work 14hours a day, trained 4 hours and worked the doors 6hours and only slept 5hours all in a 24hour day. The math don't work out but that's only in a normal person's brain
I mean. Wouldn't you
@@lolathescruff lmao
@@lolathescruff you can't be the beast if your day is not 29 hours dude, everyone knows that
@@lolathescruff I bet you couldn't do a 10 hr day, 'work the doors till 3am' and then get up at 5 am to train even once. Let alone for 10 yrs. 501kg dead lift would be easier...
I'm glad there are still strongmen who deadlift.
Joshua Perry cough*robert oberst*cough
50cal Elite Sniper only *cough* 400kg *cough*
Oberst deadlifts he just doesn’t recommend it unless deadlift strength is required (powerlifting, strongman etc)
Their isn't a time throughout the day your not picking something up. To me it just makes sence to incorporate deadlifts into your workout.
Sooooo...all of them then, including Oberst?
Thanks Eddie, every so often I need to see this video to put my form back where I need to be. Over the course of the last year I have been feeling my dead lift get harder and harder off the floor. And come to find out I strayed way far forward and it completely removed my hamstring and glute activation. Revisiting this video really helps even for us that have been doing it for years
On Brian's channel Eddie is still with him in the States.
🤣🤣
There's actually two Eddie's each weighing 250kg after they split from the half a ton deadlift record.
He can teleport.

Not only does Eddie give you solid deadlift advice. He also gives you advice that you can use in your life
What a fantastic explanation of the deadlift. It’s like getting a guitar lesson from jimmy page for me.
When I am in the gym, the deadlift is the main excercise where people struggle with form. It's painful to watch sometimes.
Also, big up Eddie for the quality content.
11:00 guy in the back quietly taking notes before doing his next set
This is the exact video i am finding to watch for deadlift, really appreciate Eddie's effort on this video
Like who would argue with him?
"I got PhD in sport science, and your advise is bad!"
Mr. hall: "but did you deadlift 500kg."
"No?!"
Mr. Hall: "then shut the F up and take notes!!"
How to have a brain hemorrhage in 6 easy steps

Book smart vs street smart 101. I know plenty of people with degrees and they still don’t know shit. I would listen to Hall any day of the week over some skinny ass with a degree!
@Gore4ever FulciLives Yea. Makes PERFECT sense, to listen to someone without any criticism who obviously belong to the 0.01% of the population in the world when it comes to genetics and is juiced up on maximum amount of gear. I do not see any flaws in your logic.
both have things to learn from each other but neither will admit it. Avoid the us vs them mentality and it might get you further.
This video is absolutely priceless. thanks eddie for sharing how to deadlift properly. You are the Beast!°
I clicked on a different deadlifting video but then saw this one. I instantly clicked on this one because this is probably the only deadlift “how to” made by someone who can lift 500 kg. I learned so much more about deadlifts from this it’s crazy.
Eddie sweats talking that’s how much of a beast he is 💪
22:54 is my favorite piece of advice.
The best deadlift technique video I have ever seen.
yeah he is a funny guy and always has a banter to him but my man has DEEP knowledge of lifting, I mean fcking scientific level. I get out of these video a good percentage smarter than before. Always.
He's a bit of a mad scientist in the gym honestly.
Pfft nothing was scientific watch Jeff Cavalieres video That's exercise science
He's really not into the science at all, just the experiential aspect of things. He may have things 'down to the science' for himself. Some stuff is bro-science, but it's obviously not of much consequence for him. Always do your own research too.
@@raymondmedina7352 science means research not anatomy. Experience on your skeleton beats fingering a dead corpse trying to figure out how it works
