Omg!!! I felt so lost homeschooling my autistic son. Felt like we are just going through the motions but your channel is going to help elevate our lessons ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Needed this! I need to stop and explain each page. I tend to rush and say “no interruptions” but you’ve changed my mind! Switching it up tomorrow and actually looking forward to it! Really great video. So many takeaways.
She is one of the Best! When I was a little girl in the 2nd. grade, I had a teacher named Mrs. Wynn, she was one of the Best teachers I have ever had, she reminds me so much of her!🍎This beautiful young lady truly has the spirit Of Excellence, she’s a Historian, an Awesome Educator on on All LevelsI Love it, She can write a variety of books not only for children, but Encyclopedias, etc. It surely runs in the family, they are all Amazing! WOW God surely made some Awesome people in this world! Blessings!
I’m very happy I found your channel💕. I’m teaching my son how to read. I asked his teacher for resources and all she said was study sight words🤷🏾♀️. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I agree with everything I did these step with my first child without out even knowing I was until I liten to you and he was able to read at grade 2 level at 5years. I however got overwhelmed and stress and haven't done much with my now 4year old but getting back on track
I am so grateful for your RUclips lessons. Teaching parents how to teach their kids deserves global acknowledgment. Questions: What resources would you most recommend for teaching how to read and testing child’s progress out? We are on lesson 61 of “teach your child how to read in 100 lessons” and although my child has learned a lot I’m noticing a lot of phonetic gaps in its lessons. My goal is to know how to evaluate my child’s progress in detail and know where to get her particular educational needs fulfilled. Thanks in advance. God bless you.
Excellent video. In my opinion, reading to our children is sooo very important and I totally agree on your advice about asking questions to encourage THINKING in the child, not just reading the words and quickly turning the page. Another thing that I discovered when my children were young and I read to them often and led to THEM having an interest in reading when they got older, is that reading also creates excellent spelling skills. Seeing different words printed in a book makes the child remember how different words are spelled. Instilling a love of reading in a child is so very important...you just can't go wrong with it. Everything about it is a positive in their future. 🙂
I enjoy listening and learning about these tips on how to elevate my child's reading level. Thanks. My daughter and I do that at times tell each other stories, normally when I am exhausted.
Getting my seven year old to want to read is my struggle. I will be implementing these ideas and order those chapter books you suggested. Please let us know some more of your favorite award winners and I will happily purchase them.
As teacher trainer from Uganda we have our own reading approach called RICA that makes reading simplified but honestly. Am learning a lot from you Akeeba. #Gracias
This is a great video! So clear for parents. I'll be directing some of my parents to this link. It can be easier to hear from other people. Today's readers will tomorrow's leaders, thinkers, world changers.
Love love love these ideas - I hadn't thought about asking my daughter to write down something at times instead of telling me. Thanks darling, keep up the good work.
I receive this message! My son is doing well. I need to work on genres. I fell for the celebrity okey doke and made a few bad book investments (just a few). I appreciate the tips.
Aphiwe is smart and gifted. ❤️ Kids approach to learning is different... There are four types of learners (1) Visual learners (2) Physical ("action-based") learners (3) Listening learners (4) Reading and writing learners
Are use audiobooks in the car, and read aloud‘s if I’m really busy as well. But no research shows that they make people better readers. I think it’s better than not reading because at least they are hearing the words and may be picking up vocabulary from context.
Hi! Thanks for all your educational videos! They are very helpful. Question, if I’m going to be speaking to my child in primarily Spanish, to help them be bilingual should I implement mostly Spanish books and some English books? Or would that be confusing for them? Since the pronunciation is different in both languages?
er sounds, her, water, better, sister, Peter, brother, er sound is mostly found at the end of the word. Sentence. My brother and sister both like Peter. (Thank you)
I agree. I remember a book my grand daughter had called "I've Gotta Go Pee"! In the end, the kid character was running around necked! It was not a potty training book. Not something I think was good reading. Lol!
I’m a homeschooling dad and this has been a great resource to store in my tool box. 🤙🏿👍🏿

Yes! I read to my son, but I don't discuss the text with him. I will now!

You should consider writing a children’s book ! I always enjoy your vlogs !!

Indeed reading and writing are like brothers and sisters. And the oldest ink is better than the best memory.

Hello dear
My daughter is 6.5years
She forgets words very quick
If she writes 20_30 times
Still she forgets
Like grains
She writes grns
Kindly support her to first master the sounds. Then teach her using the word segmentation approach. Like grain. (gr-ai-n)
