Yes, there are two bass amp Sims (SVT and Bass Boy) and the guitar effects also work for bass; some better than others. No reason you couldn't use a guitar amp sim for bass if you like the sound, BTW. I'm using it for bass guitar myself.

Noise gate will solve noise problem also we DO NOT recommend iRig, use behringer guitar link UCG102 for noise problems and minimum latency.

Do NOT get the iRig (Apple doesn't play well with Android)...get the Behringer GuitarLink as shown in this video. $39 online.
There is a kind of iRig made for Android too.

I have iRig 1, it "technically" does work, but sounds like sh-t, cause iRig 1 is a piece of sh-t. You may want to upgrade to Behringer UCG102 (A/D device).

I used behringer guitar link and it has latency hmmm
You can set your latency in app settings by clicking "Latency settings". Also make sure that delay pedal is off.
