Don't you just love how I always have a Pinned Comment? Well this time it's just about that 9-head mode. It works as I explained, but I forgot to mention that it DOESN'T save time or puzzle pieces, so you cannot play on that mode if you're going for completion. This is why I said not to deal with the frame-tight tricks right away, as they're only really useful if you're looking for said Ranks and Pieces, otherwise you should just play 9-head mode. It might be wrong to accuse them of breaking the stages flow given 9-head mode is essentially the same, but I'd argue when going for puzzle pieces at least, it does make things kinda wacky.
The dev probably chose sekibanki because it freaking loves sekibanki, and *then* had the idea of the head puzzles thingy (?)
Id agree with ur opinion, cus i believe the mechanic itself can be implemented into other characters
You're not wrong - it's made by doujin musician Paradot (most known for the "Ultimate Taste" remixes), who also does a lot of Sekibanki artwork+music and even has a website themed around her.
The amount of effort you put into informing and creating content for the Touhou community that is actually game related is second to none. I like how you{ve brought a lot of the old doujinstyle/shrinemaiden knowledge to the masses through your videos. I really admire everyone who decides to jump the fence and create content or at least make an effort regarding games in the shmups genre. I've seen you grow a lot in the past year or so. Just wanted to mention that all that effort and the little things you change from time to time to imporve do not go unnoticed. Keep up the good work. I'll share your channel on Twitter, you really deserve more attention, regardless if one is a fan of Touhou in particular or not.

id like to say that this game had been sitting in my steam library since christmas 2021 unfinished, this video is the push i needed to actually finish it, then after that ill probably just go back to mystias izakaya

Just as a brief FYI, the name roughly translates to "Neckless Recollection", fitting given the main mechanic of Sekibanki detatching her head copies.
Boy did I stumble on something interesting. This actually looks insanely fun yet has some challenge to it.

7:19 Weirdly coincidentally, another youtuber reviewed this game recently and showed in that video how to do this exact level without that headbounce-midair tech, but also noted the slightly weird maneuver he had to do instead.

For some reason, the amount of techs in this game (and the fact some of them are not intentional) reminds me of Celeste and, the more recent, ULTRAKILL. Just like in these two games, there's all sorts of odd stuff you can do with the game's mechanics, from pretty much warping across the levels in Celeste to comboing every single individual weapon tech together in one string in ULTRAKILL, or just launching yourself using game mechanics (such as Malicious Railcannon + Core Eject immediately behind you to zoom through an ULTRAKILL open level *INSTANTLY.* Gotta go fast!), I'll be looking into this game's speedruns for a while!

also btw for your example of the technique being required for normal play it likely is not unless it's required in later stages, for the specific example to you showed the likely intended use was via using a head projectile and beating the normal puzzle with just 1 bounco head
This is cute as fuck. I don't often buy digital only games (since you don't truly own those games) but this game looks real nice. Might get it for my Switch.
