If you decide to take a deep dive into sabaton, I can promise you WILL end up in tears. Always let the video play out as theres always something at the end, if you react to "Christmas Truce", do the official music video for a very special guest vocal at the end, for "no bullets fly", it's the animated story again lots of surprises at the end of that one. There's also the "Sabaton History" channel here on RUclips, which will give you all the background on the stories being told.
There's also "Pasadena 1984"... (okay, it's Nanowar of Steel _with_ Joakim, but they manage to hit Sabaton's style really well, and it's just pure fun) 😂
Actually out of a crew of over 2,200 men, only 114 survived. And if rumors are to be believed, a cat also survived, Oskar, later renamed Unsinkeable Sam.
"Christmas truce" (official music video) is a must as someone suggested. Just make sure you listen through the credits. You will hear a voice singing which I think you will enjoy. And also "En livstid i krig" live from Gothenburg. Use the subtitles because it is in swedish. It´s amazing "1916" (official music video) It´s a Motörhead cover. "Swedish Pagans" , live from Wacken open air 2019. The use both stages at the same time. One with former members and one with current members. And Tina Guo on cello
I wpuld also suggest comparing Sabaton's version of Christmas truce to the version by Tommy Johansson. Joakim sings it like he is IN the action and is angry that tomorrow he will have to fight against his friends, whilst Tommy's version is more a lamentation from a survivor of at least one moment when the soldiers fighting turned into brothers. And of course, as Tommy is the lead guitarist of Sabaton he kind of covered himself, to to say.
In the start of the video, You see an older Man in an office with many pictures of Bismarck and personal medals. This Man has the Compass. He takes Sabaton to the spot the compass shows and what they witness is the Ghosts of the saga of the Bismarck story. [Through the mist a ship is taking form.] The first battle is Bismarck vs Prince of Wales, a British Battleship. Their also was another British ship that you don't see. The HMS Hood. A Battlecruiser as big and powerful as Bismarck but with less armor. Bismarck and her escort, the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen blow the Hood to pieces and Prince of Wales is Badly damaged. The Last battle is TWO British Battleships, HMS King George the 5th and HMS Rodney along with two British Heavy Cruisers HMS Norfolk and HMS Dorsetshire. The Scene were the Man is engraving the Coordinance in the compass, He is Bismarck's Captain. Ernst Lindemann. Later when mortally wounded he gives that compass to the sailor and the sailor abandons ship. he is one of only 110 Men picked up by the British out of a crew of over 2,000. Then you see that old Man looking at the compass again. HE is that sailor who survived. In real life, his Father was the last surviving crew member of the KM Bismarck. Always research a Sabaton video BEFORE watching it. It really helps.
Sabaton has an annual Christmas cruise. The year "Bismark" was released, the laid a wreath to honor Kreigsmarine and Royal Navy sailors during Operation Rhine
Sabaton, the Metal community’s resident war historians. They are a magnificent live band largely because their songs promote a ton of audience participation. If you continue to dive into their music I guarantee you will laugh, cry and be inspired. Songs like “Christmas Truce” and “Price of a Mile” really bring up the strong emotional response. They also do an absolutely amazing cover of Motorhead’s “1916” the video for which includes a great little tribute to Lemmy.
Power metal is deff one of favorites! I love these bands. Sabaton, Beast in Black, Powerwolf! Love it. Plus, I love how Sabaton has added episodes of history lessons to go with their songs.
as a side note here if no one has mentioned it. The name they gave the boat at 1:27 is taken from an older song by the band, from the older setup of the band.
Youve only just discovered them? Oh man if you love history like you said then you are gonna fall in love with this band. Strongly recommended: Christmas Truce - Official Video - You will cry 1916 - Official Video - Their magnum opus IMO No Bullets Fly - Animated Video - Such an amazing story Lady of the Dark - Animated Video - Possibly the most badass woman to ever exist The First Soldier - Animated video - Some people are just built different As a woman I think you will REALLY appreciate The Lady of the Dark.
Agree on all suggestions. Would like to add "Night Witches Animated Story Video" (the video is with both music video and story). Also "Father Official lyrics video". And many many more from Sabaton =)
The watch case was given to the young survivor from the Bismarck as you saw , the captain of the boat they were playing on was that young survivor , that was the reference they were making . It's a banger of a song and they never disappoint , like everyone is saying here Christmas Truce is an amazing song and video also 🤘
the watch in the beginning is the captain watch given to the young sailor before jumping in the ocean the watch was taken by the rescuer and past on to the son who is the boat Captain remember these events take place som 75 years apart.
Rubbish! Complete claptrap. If you can prove that, do it, because I can tell you sir, nobody from the forward part of the ship survived. So how did the watch get off the ship's bridge? I am so tired reading this BS on every Sabbaton Bismarck video, about a watch being given to the youngest survivor. How was he summoned to the bridge? Did they make an announcement, "Will whoever is destined to be the youngest person to survive this, please come to the bridge?"
Bismarck and the efforts the Royal Navy went to make sure it was sunk boggles the mind. Especially that it was a canvas-covered Bi-Plane that dropped the fatal torpedo that damaged its rudder. If they'd not succeeded, the course of the war could have been very different. And none of those planes got shot down either!
Excellent reaction. Sabaton music videos have high production values and are usually shot on location, not in the studio using a green screen ("Soldier of Heaven" is the exception since the logistic of shooting on top of the Alps is insane). All of their songs are historically accurate and tell tales of the sacrifice, honor, and courage of individuals and groups overcoming the cauldron of war. Sabaton live performance have insane production, immense energy, and incredible crowd interaction. If you are interested in history, I highly recommend the Sabaton History Channel, where the backstory behind the song is discussed by Indy Neidell, a historian and documentarian. BTW, Joakim has no vocal training and never intended to be a singer. When Sabaton was formed he was the keyboardist and brought several songs he had written for the band to consider, and they asked him to sing them so they could get an idea of the melodies. Sabaton did not have a lead singer, and they asked him if he would sing 'until they find one.' As Joakim said, "They never did. Lazy bastards."
the music video for race to the sea is also shot in a studio in hungary iirc, not at a canal by the belgian-french border where the story of the song is about
@@helheimx and their singer is originally a keyboard player that volunteered to sing while the band searched for a new singer after the one they had then left
@@Deilwynna According to interviews with Joakim, "Race to the Sea" was filmed in a mine lake not a studio. And yes, they used actual instruments, admitted ones that were ready to be refurbished.
The captain of the vessel the band was playing was the son of a Bismarck survivor, his father was supposed to be in that role but he sadly passed away before shooting started. Captain Ernst Lindemann was loved by his crew and he was to one scripting the coordinates on the pocket watch/compass.
Greetings from Sweden, gotta love our Sabaton right A song they wanted to write about for a long time, but could not fit into any album. So they decided to make it as a single release as a gift to the fans. Awesome reaction, thumbs up 👍
Fun fact about the CGI: Every fighting szene (where no humans are visible) has been "recorded" in the game World of Warships. You really should check out the "making of" video! It's almost unbelievable that a game can have such realism...
Quite a rabbit hole you have gone down now Raya, as others have said "Christmas Truce' is a must, and watching the official video version, watching right to the end is a must especially because of the little vocal cameo by someone that surprised many. Unless you knew the band members partners ;-)
Christmas Truce or No Bullets Fly are the two most emotional videos. I went up in a B-17 like from No Bullets Fly a week ago just because of their video. Try getting through either without crying!
I really don’t like Power Metal. But the first time I heard Sabaton I was hooked. They are phenomenal. They are also brilliant love if you get the chance. The stage show was phenomenal and they sound exactly the same live
The whole album "The Great war" is a treat And Night Witches, Primo Victoria, 40:1, No bullets fly, En livstid i Krig (Swedish version), Ghost Division, The price of a mile are the ones that are the most reacted to Edit: I forgot one of the most important "Christmas Truce"
You're the first reactor I have seen (and I have seen a LOT) to pick up on the fob watch and the connection between the fishing boat captain and the cabin boy. Also, can say from 1st hand experience, Sabaton is at their best watched live in person, but that energy doesn't come across on live recordings at all. You're better off looking at the official music videos to get the history kick too.
Very important they highlighted the torpedo bomber in the video. That hit on the stern of the Bismarck sealed its fate since it jammed the rudder during a turn and left it circling instead of able to run to friendly forces.
Im a history Geek ! Can't go wrong with Sabaton they have a history channel, their drummer is married to someone, good vocals great videos and Tommy produces wicced metal covers as well
I found Sabaton a year and a half ago and fell in love. Joakim's voice is incredible, Tommy sings and rocks that guitar, Par Chris kill in and Hannes is amazing on the drums. Their songs are all about people of moments in military history and are just moving. Their songs get you either fist pumping or teary eyed. 1916 cover, Christmas Truce, Night Witches, Red Baron, Last Stand, Resist and Bite, The Attack of the Dead Men, Stormtroopers, Soldier of Heaven and so many more. Great reaction!
Sabaton definitely has some excellent music videos. "Christmas Truce" and "No Bullets Fly"(the animated story video) will leave you in tears. "Lady Of The Dark" is another really good one(again, the animated story video would be best). "To Hell And Back" and "Uprising" are also fantastic songs, but I would recommend finding videos of them performing those songs live because the crowd REALLY gets into them. :) Oh, and if you want the spiritual successor to "Bismark", check out "Dreadnought"
Great reaction! I must welcome you to this rabbit hole of Sabaton. You have quite a jorney to take on. I already see that you have several suggestions in the comments so I leave that. You were absolutely right about the compass and the inscription. But one interesting thing about it is that the older man in the beginning is the real son to the sailor that survived and brought the compass from Bismarck. It should have been the sailor himself to shoot the video but he sadly died shortly from starting the filming, so his son took the part instead. Sabaton is very meticulous with the details. The video itself is a collaboration between Sabaton and the game developer World of warships, and it is sure top notch! Seeing forward to see you react to more Sabaton!
Yes, Most of their songs are about Military History. They tell the story without taking sides. Formed in 1999, lead singer Joakim Broden and bassist Par Sundstrom are the primary songwriters, nad the 2 original members left. Chris Rorland and Tommy Johansson on guityar, and Drummer Hannes van Dahl (Floor Jansen's husband) complete the current lineup. A 2019 stand alone single, the video was made in conjunction with Wargaming, the company that makes the World of Warships game. Joakim rolls his "R's", what is sounding like a Scottish brogue to you. I think he does that to make English pronunciations easier for him. Btw, he pronounces his name more like (Yo-a-kim). You can hear him say it on the band's RUclips history channel, either he or Par co-host most episodes with Indy Neidell. The name painted on the boat the band went out in is Primo Victoria. That's the name of their first album released, the title track is about D-Day at Normandy. The captain of that boat is the son of the last survivor of the Bismarck. 114 survived from a crew of over 2200. Bismarck had sunk the British battlecruiser HMS Hood, only 3 survived of almost 1500. For more try the music video for Christmas Truce. Or any of the animated story videos: No Bullets Fly, Night Witches, The Red Baron, Lady of the Dark, and The First Soldier.
About Joakim's rolling "R's", he grow up in a part of sweden that has rolling "R's", so I guess its just easier when you sing/talk in a foreign language to go back to ones roots of pronunciation. I sometimes stumbles upon people that seems to think that this is something he ads. I just think its the opposite. Probably for what you say, it might be easier.
"They tell the story without taking sides" except they do take sides and are biased. when they sing about germans they talk about terror and fear. when they sing about anything related to the allies then suddenly its all about heroes and saving the world.
Sabaton will make you cry with some specific songs: 1916, christmas truce, no bullets fly (animated music video!!), en livstid I krig (live in gothermburg), price of a mile and some more. You can check what their most viewed videos are and please do more reactions to sabaton, they are AMAZING!!❤❤❤
The beginning of the song is when Bismark more or less one-shot-kills the cruiser HMS. Hood, then the end is when she was sunk. The CGI was sponsored by the computer game company that made World of Warship.
On a side note the Bismarks Captain Ernst Lindemann actually referred to the ship as a He which is unusual as the convention had always been to refer to ships as She.
At one point you see an American made PBY airplane which is historical. After the sinking of the HMS Hood the Bismark escaped detection until a PBY given to Great Britain via Lend Lease spotted it. Little known is the fact it was flown by an AMERICAN giving lessons to the British on how to fly it when it was sent on a long distance flight to search.
You are the second person I have seen react to this video that has picked up on the watch... and the first one to see it went VERY deep into an analysis of this video. Good job!
One of my favourite Sabaton songs. Love the "iron and blood" reference to Bismarck's famous speech in there, too. Plus the video is of course amazing, which is a general truth for Sabaton. They are also one of the greatest live bands I've ever seen. My recommendation in that regard: *Primo Victoria* live from Woodstock 2012 in Poland. Absolutely mindblowing show in front of a huge crowd.
Great reaction. If you would like to dive more into the stories that sabaton is singing about, they have a dedicated Sabaton History channel in collaboration with historian Indy Neidell (The Great War, Time Ghost and World War 2 youtube channels). He goes into the history of the events and they also have a small conversation about production or some other related interesting tidbits with the band members.
Swedes tend to roll their Rs when speaking a lot as well. Maybe not that much in the capital Stockholm. But there is a lot of rolling Rs in Gothenburg and the further north in Sweden you go. Sabaton is from the middle part of Sweden and that's where you can start to hear it in their accent.
As a HUGE history fan and metal fan this song is a top 5 for me. The Bismarck was a legend and the story of the allies sinking it is even more legendary. This song is more emotional than romantic songs.
Oh these guys! I adooore them! Their official videos are always remarkable! But they are even better live! It is that energy! And they are masters on evoking emotion! So keep some tissues close! 😉
The difference between most power metal bands and Sabaton, besides their songs mainly being about war/history, is that Joakim's voice. Unlike most power metal singers who have a higher/saprano or mezzo-suprano range, Joakim is more of a baritone range. Don't get me wrong, his voice is as amazing as the best of them, but it's unique.
Great video! I have already seen some good recommendations for Sabaton songs so I think you are set. But, I want to encourage you to use captions/subtitles if you watch "En livstid i krig" (the live performance from Gothenburg) because you really have to understand the lyrics for the song to really hit! Looking forward to see more of Sabaton on your channel!🙂
2:15 I absolutely love this shot from the video. It is, honestly, my favorite moment in the whole thing. 5:51 Singing is one of the most effective ways of communicating information humans have. There is a reason so many mnemonics involve rhyming, and song is just rhyme set to music. I have retained so much more information about stuff through songs than I ever managed from being lectured in school. 6:54 The numbers being etched there are the coordinates where the Bismark sank.
I appreciate how Sabaton's work has/can inspire people to learn about history. It's rarely taught with enthusiasm but Sabaton teaches with inspiration and a desire to know more.
Sabaton is one of my absolute favourite bands of all time! I've seen them live 9 times and counting and there is only one band I've seen live that beats their live show and that is Rammstein! The CGI for the music video was made by a company htat made this huge warships game so that explains how they were able to make it so realistic Welcome to the fantastic world of Sabaton, some recommendations for more songs to react to - Ghost Division Official live video, 1916, No Bullets Fly Animated story video, Fields of Verdun, Midway, Screaming Eagles, Uprising official music video, Race to the Sea, Final Solution, RIse of Evil, Christmas Truce..... the list goeas on and on but those are just a few to start with They also have a Sabaton History CHannel where they break down the history behind all of their songs, it's really interesting and educational!
@@maxw7118 I'm sure they draw some influence from Motörhead and Lemmy, I men they are huge legends in the metal scene, but I don't think they are a major influence, although 1916 is a straight up cover of a Motörhead song
Song was released one year after last survivor of Bismarck died, the old guy in the cabin at the beggining of the video is the son of that last survivor!!! Thanks for your reaction!
The band published a "making of" to this video. ALong with showing the effects and sets, it also shows how they filmed the boat-stage. Yes, out at sea, but also with two trailing boats pointing garden hoses at the band.
The captain wrote coordinates since he knew the ship was going down. He gave it to the boy who then was saved by the allies. The old man who went out with Sabaton to look for the Bismarck was of course the young man.
I believe it was a Watch after watching the video again it marks the exact coordinates and location where the Bismarck did, indeed sink to the bottom of the ocean
You should listen to 1916 by Sabaton. I feel like crying as if I were a small child when listening to it. I think about all my past friends during service and stirs up a lot of emotions. Definitely check it out
Glad to see a new Sabaton fan over here! If you love history you literally can pick ANY Sabaton song and you won’t find a bad song. Personal recommendations? Soldier of Heaven, Seven Pillars of Wisdom, and Fields of Verdun.
I have been last year to their live in Athens, great experience! I love their music, if they make a live near you, just book it and go! You will thank me
Enjoy your trip down the Sabaton rabbit hole, Alice! If you love history, and music, you're in for a treat! Also, there is a 'making of' video for this, if you're curious.
4:00 It didn't just leave in 1940. :) The navy took the ship out to sea without telling the boss that they are taking the ship. Because the boss was too afraid to let the ship out because he was afraid that big ships are too big of a target, and bring shame to their country when they sink. When the ship sunk, Hitler first heard the news that it sunk from the radio from the British celebrating it.
Those rolling R’s stems from his vocal lessions where you learn to pronounce letters like that. There’s a few swedish accents that has it as well but Joakim are not from that part pf sweden.
The wreck of Bismarck was discovered on 8 June 1989 by Robert Ballard, the oceanographer responsible for finding RMS Titanic. Bismarck was found to be resting on her keel at a dept of approximately 4,791 m (15,719 ft), about 650 km (400 mi) west of Brest. 48°10′N 16°12′W
so with the bismark in the video you see several major things. bismark shooting and sinking the Hood. then later that biplane dropping the torpedo hitting the rudder causing the bismark unable to steer. then the ship firing torpedos at point blank range after the rest of the fleet destroying pretty much everything on deck.
Sabaton is amazing! I saw them in concert a year ago in Pittsburgh and wow what a show! When they come back to the US you need to see them. "Last Stand", Soldier of Heaven", "1916", Gott Mit Uns", "Primo Victoria" , "Attack of the Dead Men", "Great War" (among many others) are all awseome.
These guys are absolutely amazing! I met them at a small in house show in Utah way back and they were totally humble in speaking with fans. Joakim has a great operatic influence in his singing.
Uprising in Warsaw is my favorite of their live performances. It's a song about the Warsaw fight against German invasion in WWII. Heck, ALL of their songs are great. Take your pick.
just from what I remember about the Bismarck, it was sent out to cause chaos and destruction on British convoys in the atlantic. The British navy sent some battle cruisers (fast poorly armoured ww1 ships with big guns) one being the biggest the Hood, the Bismarck destroyed it with in a couple of shots hitting the ammo and killing all but 3 sailors. Unable to catch the Bismarcks speed the British were allowed to fly through Irish territory from the Ark Royal to torpedo the Bismarck and managed to hit the propeller causing it to turn in circles and the slower British navy managed to converge and sink it
Technically none of these torps did enough damage to sink the Bismarck. There is pretty good video footage of the torpedo hits, they didn't managed to get thru the inner armor belt. But it doesn't matter bc the Bismarck's superstructure and armament was just a piece of scrab metal
Love seeing people come across this one - it’s such a phenomenal video, song and story. Really enjoyed your video. Sabaton’s work is spectacular. A lot of Sabaton videos have been recommended, and I’ve only reacted to a few myself, so I can’t add to those, but if you enjoy metal, theatricality and the unexpected, may I recommend VoicePlay’s cover of Nothing Else Matters? When I tell you they make a capella metal music work, I truly mean it.
I very much appreciated your experience, I love sharing Sabaton with people, as you say their music is so moving and powerful. If you haven't already I highly recommend checking out their album Carolus Rex and the title song in particular.
The "compass" links the Sabaton to finding Bismarck. Noted that when Bismarck is sinking, the main character (young marine) with the "compass" in his hand was successfully rescued by British sailors. At the same time, the old man who steers the Sabaton boat is also holding the compass, this suggests either he is related to the "young marine" or he is actually the "young marine" who brought Sabaton to the sinking position of Bismarck, the mighty battleship he had once served.
lead guitarist you saw in the guitar solo is Tommy Johansson who also have his own band named Majestica, Tommy also have a RUclips channel where he makes Covers of other songs, He have an amazing voice as well....also, the drummer in Sabaton is married to Floor Jansen who is Nightwish lol
Great reaction, thank you! There is a huge selection ranging from tear jerkers to triumphant epics. Perusing your comments you cant go wrong with the recomendations given. I would like to add some of the songs that most people miss. Stuff like "seven pillars of wisdom" "fields of verdun" and "Price of a mile" to name a few
Nice you are one of the few who paid attention to the compass or medalian the old guy had that is the biggest clue rumor is he is a relative of one of the final survivors of the Bismarck
For me, the "fun" part of the story of the _Bismarck_ is the Polish destroyer that had escaped to Britain, that was operating with the Royal navy. She would dash into gun range and bang off a few rounds then dash back out, all the while transmitting _"I am a Pole!"_ in the clear over the radio.
Through this video by SABATON I found my uncle who had been missing for over 80 years. I found his name on the crew list of the BISMARCK. Thanks to SABATON !
You can learn so much history by listening to Sabaton songs, for example I never knew about the battle for Castle Itter (where Germans and Americans fought side by side) until I listened to The Last Battle, and I never knew about the battle of Osowiec Fortress until I listened to Attack of the Dead Men. Unfortunately they haven't made many videos of this quality to go with their songs, but as others have said, Christmas Truce is one that they have, and it's awesome and heartbreaking at the same time.
Welcome to the Sabaton family!!!! it is all history, and all awesome!! also great songs for if you want to work out. the one that gets me mad i learned nothing about in high school was Night Witches....... definately some badass women there. Also they have their own history channel where they talk about the history behind each song in more detail
Love the reaction! Sabaton is a fantastic band, I was able to live in Stockholm, Sweden for about 5 yrs. The only thing I will say is when you say the singers name with a J the J sound is more like a Y sound in English. For example my name is Joe, everyone in Sweden pronounced it Yo. His name would be pronounced like (Joakim) Yo-a-Kim or (Jocke) You-Ka. Also yes he does roll his R's in the song. Would love to see your reaction to The Red Baron, another Sabaton song, it is probably my favorite song all around from them.
Yeah and If im not wrong I think the cat went to another ship after or it was before the Bismarck
@Maggie0582 a total of 3 ships, I believe the Bismarck was the first as the other two were British ships
"Christmas truce" (official music video) is a must as someone suggested. Just make sure you listen through the credits. You will hear a voice singing which I think you will enjoy.
And also "En livstid i krig" live from Gothenburg. Use the subtitles because it is in swedish. It´s amazing

@@Vegeta900X Prove that.
This video was made with the help of War Gaming, the creators of World of Tanks and World of Warship
Well you could say they found a singer (but then they made him play Guitar 🙂)
the music video for race to the sea is also shot in a studio in hungary iirc, not at a canal by the belgian-french border where the story of the song is about
@@helheimx and their singer is originally a keyboard player that volunteered to sing while the band searched for a new singer after the one they had then left
You have to react to Christmas truce from sabaton, it's also one of their best songs, in my opinion.
1916 too XD
I concur.
The whole album "The Great war" is a treat
And Night Witches, Primo Victoria, 40:1, No bullets fly, En livstid i Krig (Swedish version), Ghost Division, The price of a mile are the ones that are the most reacted to
Edit: I forgot one of the most important "Christmas Truce"
1916
And I noticed that in the Bismarck video, they were painting a name on the side of the ship -- and the name was "Primo Victoria."
Sabaton History channel on youtube is also a must. Indy Neidell does a great job explaining the context behind every song.
You might also enjoy "Night Witches," "Christmas Truce," or "No Bullets Fly."
Very important they highlighted the torpedo bomber in the video. That hit on the stern of the Bismarck sealed its fate since it jammed the rudder during a turn and left it circling instead of able to run to friendly forces.
Im a history Geek ! Can't go wrong with Sabaton they have a history channel, their drummer is married to someone, good vocals great videos and Tommy produces wicced metal covers as well
Smooth. Not telling her who he's married to.
@@KisstoryRemasteredprobably because the axis powers were definitely the bad guys
Also they're like having that power to make you be patriotic to the empires, kingdoms, nations that doesn't exist now. That's how powerful it is.
You should also check on Tommy Johansson's channel (Sabaton's guitarist) and his weekly covers.
Great reaction Rachael! I'm a big history aficionado as well. So when I found Sabaton, I thought "This is so cool." And it is!
The beginning of the song is when Bismark more or less one-shot-kills the cruiser HMS. Hood, then the end is when she was sunk. The CGI was sponsored by the computer game company that made World of Warship.
Greetings from Sweden! I have watched many reactions, but I think you are the first one to mention the compass/clock thing.
Glad you got introduced to this wonderful band. Please bring on some more reactions to their songs
You are the second person I have seen react to this video that has picked up on the watch... and the first one to see it went VERY deep into an analysis of this video. Good job!
good morning miss! what a great choice to get saturday started! have a great day! ive not ever given them much of a listen. i think im gonna have to!
Absolutely mindblowing show in front of a huge crowd.
the coordinates are 48°10' N 16°12' W is where the Bismarck lies on the ocean floor in 15,000 feet of water.
Beautiful reaction to a beautiful piece of art! Blessings to you!
Very nice reaction and FINALLY one reactor saw the the watch thing, saw many reactions and waiting for this, thank you!
Great reaction! Love that you looked up the background to the song. You almost had the pronunciation of Joakim. Its you-ah-kim. ❤
I couldn't agree more, his voice is a perfect fit for their music.🤘
And his voice is getting better and better the older he gets!
/ B.
The CGI for the music video was made by a company htat made this huge warships game so that explains how they were able to make it so realistic
Welcome to the fantastic world of Sabaton, some recommendations for more songs to react to - Ghost Division Official live video, 1916, No Bullets Fly Animated story video, Fields of Verdun, Midway, Screaming Eagles, Uprising official music video, Race to the Sea, Final Solution, RIse of Evil, Christmas Truce..... the list goeas on and on but those are just a few to start with
They also have a Sabaton History CHannel where they break down the history behind all of their songs, it's really interesting and educational!
Is this band inspired by motorhead and lemmy the lead singer?
@@maxw7118 I'm sure they draw some influence from Motörhead and Lemmy, I men they are huge legends in the metal scene, but I don't think they are a major influence, although 1916 is a straight up cover of a Motörhead song
The video was done with the help of War Gaming and their game World of Warships team.
@@scottwright236 I know, I just couldn't think of the name of it when I wrote the comment
His son
4:57 literally the first time I listened to Sabaton I thought they where from Scotland, I was surprised to learn they come from Sweden.
Sabaton!... and Amaranthe does a cover of one of Sabtons's songs "82nd All The Way"... highly recommend reacting to both!
I believe it was a Watch after watching the video again it marks the exact coordinates and location where the Bismarck did, indeed sink to the bottom of the ocean
I've seen many reactions to this video, you are the first one I've seen catch the pocket watch at the end. Well done 🎉
The song that made me become a huge fan of Sabaton! Looking for more reactions to their songs!
Ballard who found the titanic also located the Bismarck. It’s an amazing watch
Welcome to the Sabaton universe. You are in for a pleasant journey in history. Great reaction. Take care and stay safe💟
You should listen to 1916 by Sabaton. I feel like crying as if I were a small child when listening to it. I think about all my past friends during service and stirs up a lot of emotions. Definitely check it out
Did you know that was a Motorhead cover?
@@clarissapullen6718 Yes, I think I prefer Sabaton's cover of it to the original.
Also, there is a 'making of' video for this, if you're curious.
out of all the reactions i've seen you are the first person i've seen catch the inscription on the of the coordinates at the end, nice!
In the video, Bismarck doesn't shoot and sinking the HMS Hood.(Clearly a King George V. Class, and the only thing sinking in this video is Bismarck)
I've watched this video a million times, and it is just so powerful, melodies are just out of this world. Gives the feels
Unable to catch the Bismarcks speed the British were allowed to fly through Irish territory from the Ark Royal to torpedo the Bismarck and managed to hit the propeller causing it to turn in circles and the slower British navy managed to converge and sink it
The Bismark sunk the Hood from so far away that the Hood's crew watched their fate coming for half an hour before they were hit.
I'm pretty sure the CGI Bismarck was based on the actual plans.
The turrets are spot-on gun placement is all the same.
I think the 'scottish' vibe comes from the fact that Joakim rolls his r's while singing, like we do in swedish (except for the south province)
Great emotional reaction! More Sabaton, please!
She would dash into gun range and bang off a few rounds then dash back out, all the while transmitting _"I am a Pole!"_ in the clear over the radio.
amazing as always 😛
4:40 they make it grandiose BUT also personal, impactful and aproachable
I love that this is now catching on , loool! been loving this clip since forever now 😂😂😂😂
3:05 i just love it. Loved your reaction here 😂❤ highlight of the video 😂❤
We want more sabaton reactionnn!!
Welcome to the Sabaton family!!!! it is all history, and all awesome!! also great songs for if you want to work out. the one that gets me mad i learned nothing about in high school was Night Witches....... definately some badass women there. Also they have their own history channel where they talk about the history behind each song in more detail
Seeing this band live earlier this year was truly amazing. Continue on with Sabaton, the way they deliver history lessons is 2nd to none :)
