I have to be honest. I always propagate pothos in water and a tiny piece of stick fertalizer I get for my plants. I change water once a week and put more of the regular fertalizer in it and they thrive like nuts. I could keep them going that way and just let them grlow but I would soon be drowning in pothos "cups" with no room to put them. I have one plant in a huge hanging pot that I have to keep cutting back and I can't bare to get rid of the cuttings I love my pothos so much, so now I have lots of smaller pots all over the place. I am running out of room. I appreciate your videos a lot. I never thought to add the clay balls. ps. I also have peperomia obtusifolia I propagated from leaves the same way and SO many roots and new growth in almost no time it was shocking. Just a short cup with water and regular plant food. I could have kept them that way as well but I like to keep my cuttings on rotation so I planted them after the new growth was a good size. This was 6 months ago now and stuff I put in soil is just now starting to show new growth while the stuff in water has whole new plants and I cut the original leaves off because they were blocking the light to the new growth.
What's a good place to have a pothos. I tried to place one of my pothos near a window but it's always curling up and dying ughhh. I thought these plants would be so easy to care for but to me I don't have a green thumb. I water my pothos and it dies. I don't water it and it still dies. I'm so sad.
I don't know why but every time I plant pothos in soil, they perish. I have tried different combinations but in vain. However the cuttings do survive in water. Kindly suggest the ideal potting mix for pothos. Regards.

Plants die in soil because of lack of oxygen. Lack of oxygen is caused by heavy soil mixes staying wet for too long. Do a 50/50 mix of chunky soil and perlite. Water when dry
It could be a pest called spider mites I think they are… something of that nature… just do a little research and spend 5-10 mins checking trough the plants carefully to try to spot out any pests. Also if your leaves are under water… they will rot and die. In very rare cases I believe you can have a few of the leaves in the actual aquarium but most of the plant must still be out of the water to produce oxygen.
I've had Pathos growing out of the top of my aquarium for months. Lots of folks do this because it grows like crazy and removes a bunch of nitrates from the water column. The more you know!
@@Plantalogy And fish waste and decaying biological material creates ammonia. We introduce beneficial bacteria that turns ammonia into nitrites and then nitrates which the plants consume as food. Operating a complete eco system. Amazing stuff!
Help! I’ve had my pothos in water for a year. They’ve been thriving in the water for such a long time, but suddenly the leaves have been turning yellow. Any idea how I can fix this? Thanks in advance 🥹
Old leaves will fall off, it's a natural process, but if the younger leaves also turn yellow then your plant may have rotting issues. Check the roots, and change the water if algae growth is visible.. Also, you can take some cuttings & make more plants if you have doubts about the survival rate of the mother plant. Furthermore, try to grow in soil for the best results. ☘️☘️🌹🌹
I generally do not like to grow pothos in water except for propagation. But you can use seaweed liquid fertilizer once a month. Slight application of seaweed solution will improve the plant's growth. 🌷🌷
Hello! I have a ton of aquatic plants that grow submerged. Typically we remove active charcoal from the filter system because it sucks up nutrients we are trying to use to feed out plants. There are a ton of active substrates in the planted aquarium industry. Some folks just use dirt from their yard in the bottom of their tanks, but they have lots of experience with aquatic plants.
If you are growing pothos in water then try to use fish emulsion or seaweed solution as a source of nutrients. Banana peel water can attract harmful microbes. ☘️☘️

I have a Crystal Head Vodka bottle that I want to grow a water plant in. I have plenty of pothos vines to experiment around with.

I have pothos growing out of my fish tanks. It’s done super great up until a few weeks ago. Now the leaves have a white mold on them. Any advice. TIA

Yes, it actually consumes nitrates as food. 🌷🌱

@@Plantalogy thanks so much, I’ll try that!
I much prefer soil. The roots holding it down mean I can string it around the house. I do grow it in my aquariums, too!
Yes!!,🌱🌷
Thanks for very.....Informative video. 👌 💐
whats the best plant to filter the air in my small moldy room
Very nice information 😊
What fertilizer do you recommend for Pothos growing in water?

Thank you@@Plantalogy
@@Plantalogydo we need to spray the leaves with the seaweed mix?
hi is activated charcoal a possible substrate in place of the clay leca balls?
I have no experience with activated charcoal. Give it a try & let us know!! ❄️🌱🍁🍁
