However, I do socialize a bit and play about with people, being chill around those I trust. The one music genre I truly enjoy that has that powerful emotional feeling, is video game music. It's so strange but relaxing how music can make you relate to the characters from it's story. Minecraft volume beta is a album that reminds me of how majestic the good old days can be. I know it's just a game but if your that into games, you want to relate to the world of them as well
I find music game can't be a genre, because you can produce a music game indipendently on genre. You can find metal/rock/pop and etc... inside a game. Videogames are art, so music is important, since it does give us atmosphere.
Yeah, for me it is FIFA soundtracks, the nostalgia of playing those games and listening to them is immense. And many I love because of their message too, which is really the point of a song for me
Yeah same. Payday, Terraria, Minecraft and even Boneworks and lots more. Its just amazing what these people can make. Like in payday all the songs have different stages for phases of assaults and it just adds something special. Boneworks is kind of in a weird place because of its theme but the synth and the opera at the end really fit well. Terraria has a soundtrack that I hold really close to my heart and my favourite mod soundtrack is from calamity. Like yahron phase 2 (forgot what the track was called) is just amazing and brings me back to me playing with my friend back in the day.
You should do a video on "music therapy" and how people can listen to different types of music to help themselves psychologically. For example, some music can be "healing" and helpful for processing and dealing with emotional trauma; other types of music can help one feel more energetic, improve mental functions, feel more positive, etc. For myself, I've recently started listening to a lot of adult contemporary jazz to help deal with work stress, depression and anxiety related to the pandemic, and it's helped me a lot.
I enjoy the unpredictable art of wavey air that we call Dubstep. It's pretty uncommon, and that's part of the reason why I like it, but I'm also fascinated by the sound design and music production aspect of the genre.
I listen to several different types of music, the only one I don't listen to is country, classical, or dance music. However most of my songs in the other genres are sad or in different languages. I tend to find comfort in rock or some indie and hip hop music, sometimes even rap. Music is my therapy and my main coping mechanism.
I love how cats are included in so many of your animations. I love cats and this channel, and it's helped me so much. A big thank you to the team for their effort!! PS - Amanda, you're the best voice over!
For me, it has always been metal. After the usual "I'm a 90s kid" eurodance/pop/BSB/Kelly/NSYNC fling, it started with nu metal, proceeded to power/speed metal and landed at thrash/death/black. And yeah...my self esteem could be higher to put it mildly.
As a person with Aspergers/ADHD I love EDM (Electronic Dance Music) but don't really dance to it. I kind of just zone out and stare into space for hours and sometimes fall asleep to it when i'm really tired. Even the fastest most energetic songs are relaxing to my hyperactive brain.
Hey P2G, I noticed you have lots of vids on personalities and learning your personality but not identity. Could you start a series or at least do one or two videos on identity crisis please? That would be really cool.
Your identity is just a collection of your values. 🫵🪞 Values are just information cycles/traps 🪢♻️, that’s been perceived as interesting (especially considering the time and state we’re in perceiving information). Information comes-and-goes, like how a moving thread 🪡 tangles and untangles knots 🪢. That’s how we learn and forget simultaneously, we trap information that fits.
For me, my playlists have most genres, although are primarily stuff like emo/pop/punk type stuff. Personally, i don't look at genre but the song itself. Pretty much if i can vibe with it and i like it, it goes in a playlist. I have a bit of almost everything, some country, some rap, some slightly older from like the 90s/early 2000s, its just a mix of genres and I have one playlist on spotify thats over 24 hrs long so its a lot.
Me an introvert who likes Pop, RnB, hip-hop/rap, soul basically all genres apart from heavy metal and reggae. I can listen to rock music like Queen and maybe Nirvana and I only know one Nirvana song but I listen to pop and RnB but that doesn't mean I'm extroverted.
I don't really have a favourite music genre I just listen to music that sounds good and is fun regardless of its genre... So what does that mean for me?
You can try to estimate towards which genre you tend to go. Like take your 10 favorite songs and check the genre of each of them, it's always nice to know our tendencies, it helps us find new songs more easily and allows others to suggest some too. Just a friendly recommendation.
As a rock and indie listener, this was actually really relatable 😅 I can confirm I have lower self-esteem (I'm working on that), I'm gentle (I feel bad for even killing a bug), I'm creative (at least, that's what everyone says I am), and I'm passive. I wouldn't say I'm an intellectual, but my 4.06 GPA, parents, friends, and teachers say otherwise. I guess I'll never know
Actually, as expected, my favorite music genre was not included here. (Expected because I have yet to find a friend in my everyday life who likes the same music.) My favorite music genre...It's orchestral movie scores. Perhaps CLOSE to classical music in that it is orchestral, but the composition style is just different, and I think that's key. I wonder what it says about someone to like orchestral movie scores, I really do. Also wish I could find more people to be friends with who like the same music as me... :/
My favourite music genre varies depending on what I'm in the mood for. I have a personal connection to classical music because it used to be my career, and my family listened to country. I expanded from that to new age like Enya and piano like Yirumi. In the past two years, I have gotten into heavy metal like FFDP because of the deep meaning to the lyrics and how expressive the music is.
Soft rock, Country, Ambient, Vaporwave, Synthwave, and DOOM-like music to play games where you just kill enemies like John Wick. Also Cyberpunk 2077 & Cyberpunk: Edgerunners tracks are the BEST. Especially "I Really Want to Stay at Your House", "This Fffire"... Also yeah I like to listen to Video Game OSTs sometimes, like TLoU & TLoU PART II, and again, Cyberpunk 2077... the list is really big.
I kind of bounced around between genres all my life. In fifth grade I briefly listened to classic rock due to this show I use to watch called supernatural. By high school, I was listening to rap and hip hop, (Pop at times) which I'm convinced was just a phase because that's what most of my schoolmates would listen to and I was very selective depending on the lyrics. Out of high school I was really just playing video game soundtracks in the background while I did whatever. Despite this, I always caught myself coming back to country music, probably because I grew up with my dad listening to it. I feel like each country song is like a story about a point in somebody's life. As a fairly creative person who writes in his own time, this is probably why songs like, "What hurts the most" resonated with me more than anything else. With that being said, I feel this video is only half right about me. I wouldn't consider myself outgoing or emotionally stable, and I'd be down to experience anything new with the right group of people. But making new friends is nerve-racking as hell, haha. It should go without saying, I'm very introverted, but at least being hardworking and being around others, mainly a few close friends who share my interests, does describe me quite a bit. Funny story, on the first day of school in sixth grade, my teacher had everyone write down a question on a piece of paper and throw it across the room and we all had to pick one up. I got the one that asked what music I listened to of course, and not sure what to say since I wasn't really into anything in particular at the time I responded, "Country". The entire class erupted in laughter, and I was extremely embarrassed. When the same thing happened to another kid who liked metal, the teacher got after everyone.
Yeah I believe this video is true for me, I love punk and indie, Green Day being the favorite for me. And yes I'm an introvert and a wall flower, but I guess I know several rock lovers who are the biggest extroverts and are the most outgoing guys I have ever met. So, yeah I believe a music taste can't define anyone at all.
I love a lot of music, but the only genre I can say I don’t like is probably pop. For me, it’s just too mainstream! But (unpopular opinion nowadays) I really love country music. For those of you who don’t like it or think it’s stupid, I think you should look at the lyrics of the songs. Songs like “Brothers” by Dean Brody and “Travelin’ Soldier“ by The Chicks are really beautiful. I don’t always listen to country, but when I do, I feel happy, at ease, and inspired. ☺️ Thank you Psych2Go for an awesome video!! Love you guys 🧡
I love Pop, Rap and Hip Hop, Rock and Heavy Metal, Classical, Jazz Soul + Blues, Dance, Sing-A-Long, Ballad, Soundtracks, Musicals etc. expect for Country, that's not my music genre. Those are my favourite music genres.❤🎼🎵🎶🎤👩🏻🎤
I've always enjoyed a wide variety of genres. But my music journey started with listening Audiomachine, two steps from hell, immediate music etc. Back in 2015 I've discovered Erutan and her unique take on folk-medieval style. After that I've started to dig deeper. Skillet and vocaloid peaked my interests eventually. Currently I'm more inclined towards Uplifting trance and symphonic metal (nightwish) Anime is a big factor in my music taste.
Rock and heavy metal is so true for me, and it's all I listen to (and my dad and sister call it trash, but it's what I like, and it help me drown out everybody/everything else)😉
Yes! I’m an extrovert and creative but my self esteem is low and I hate hard work 😂 I’m a gentle soul too. I love both pop and rock so I’m a combination of both. 😅
Wow. I generally like a bit of a lot of things in the musical realm, but metal is generally my favorite. And your description here hit the nail on the HEAD.
I'm pushing the line of the standard Hip Hop fan. I'm generally high on self-esteem but pretty much an introvert, I'm comfortable in social settings but truthfully never wanna be there lol
My favourite genres are pop, rap and hip-hop and especially the hip-hop description was quite the opposite of me. Though I agree that I like to define myself with music - it sometimes makes me feel energised, self-confident or excited which are things that I naturally miss and would like to have/be.
My Playlist on Spotify is so mixed that it's difficult to pin just one down. There's Broadway, female punk, lots of LGBT, but i think if i had to pick one genre over all the ones i enjoy it'd have to be Celtic music. I LOVE Irish music so freaking much!
@@azura.lit.des.livres Actually yeah! Beach Bunny is one band i really like to listen to. It's not exactly punk but it's got some great poppy sounds to a rebellious female vibe.
As a creative individual, I appreciate various genres of music primarily due to the emotions they evoke. Depending on the situation I may prefer to listen to a specific genre at any given moment, mainly so I can immerse myself in the music and learn from its emotions.
What about people who listen to songs they relate to? I listen to a lot of Vocaloid which can be difficult to categorize due to its branching genres. But I listen to a lot of the…depressing songs. (Ex: Rolling Girl, Lost One’s Weeping, Jishoumushoku, Inochi ni Kirawarete iru).
My favorite is dance music, and it fits with me id say. Love to be myself, usually involving lots of random voice changes, and off the cuff jokes, to make people laugh where I can. P.S. I LOVE that you included art of "Mayday" from "No Straight Roads" as the art under Rock. Such a great game to play through, even if i was a bit conflicted fighting AGAINST my favorite music style the whole game. I really enjoy seeing the gaming easter eggs you slip into these videos.
Couldn't have been more wrong about rap and hip hop. Many rappers came to music due to mental illness, trauma, and/or isolation, and the fans are into it because it speaks to them personally. It can give comfort mainly to isolated introverts.
I listen death metal and black metal for some people its just a noise but not for me i can understand what they saying i found out i have talent in guitar last year i bought my first guitar and at the first week i started to play thunderstruck perfectly now i can shred my fav death metal solos after playin 1 year of guitar!! I dont care anmyore people saying its just a noise, im a gentle person and i often say to them music is subjective and i dont really talk with people if they talk or need help i would love to help them
They asked if your headphones were blaring out loud rock music before the video. Oops! I just came from watching a skillet music video with my pink, light up cat ear headphones! ❤
I'm a big music lover and love a variety of music, but classical music speaks to my soul! I felt that track you playing for classical music in a special way I can't describe. The traits for that genre were pretty spot on for me as well :) Also, the picture for the country section with the person playing guitar and singing with animal friends was so pure. I wish I could do that in real life 😊
What about folk/pseudo-folk? My favourite playlist is a bunch of songs you could potentially hear on a fantasy adventure. Dulaman, the Misty Mountains, Sa Rider Jag Mig, Rolandskavedet, etc.

It’s weird because I guess it goes with dance and I love it, yet I’m not extroverted.
Who's ur fav dubstep artist tho?
Nice
As someone who’s favourite genres are rock, metal, and indie, you’ve literally just described my whole personality
I listen to several different types of music, the only one I don't listen to is country, classical, or dance music.
However most of my songs in the other genres are sad or in different languages. I tend to find comfort in rock or some indie and hip hop music, sometimes even rap.
Music is my therapy and my main coping mechanism.
Same here. Music really does smooth the savage beast, like my mom likes to say. :)
What about confidence? Also, you gradually got into Metal
I'm 43 and got into Metal and playing instruments in 1989. You were a transplant. Welcome to have you, but you aren't the norm
i like pop, hip-hop, rap, electronic music genres
As a person with Aspergers/ADHD I love EDM (Electronic Dance Music) but don't really dance to it. I kind of just zone out and stare into space for hours and sometimes fall asleep to it when i'm really tired. Even the fastest most energetic songs are relaxing to my hyperactive brain.
What's ur fav subgenre of edm
@@EDM_Ashir Probably either electro glitch hop or trance it kinda depends on the artist i'm listening to.
@@froghaven oh
@@froghaven can u name some artists that u love listening to
@@EDM_Ashir Fearofdark, Waterflame, DJNate, DJStriden, Mididuck, Toby Fox, and like 1000 more.
i just love that miku was included i love vocaloiddd!!
If you haven't give Will Steston a listen, banger English covers
Hey P2G, I noticed you have lots of vids on personalities and learning your personality but not identity. Could you start a series or at least do one or two videos on identity crisis please? That would be really cool.
Your identity is just a collection of your values. 🫵🪞
Values are just information cycles/traps 🪢♻️, that’s been perceived as interesting (especially considering the time and state we’re in perceiving information).
Do you listen to Blink?
I hope you listen to Green Day and not that one guy
lol same i basically listen to the exact same stuff.
I really love heavy metal and rock. The description was exactly my personality
Me too
You can try to estimate towards which genre you tend to go. Like take your 10 favorite songs and check the genre of each of them, it's always nice to know our tendencies, it helps us find new songs more easily and allows others to suggest some too. Just a friendly recommendation.
I love heavy metal and various electronic genres (mainly vocaloid :D) and the the rock and heavy metal section perfectly described me lol
As a rock and indie listener, this was actually really relatable 😅
I can confirm I have lower self-esteem (I'm working on that), I'm gentle (I feel bad for even killing a bug), I'm creative (at least, that's what everyone says I am), and I'm passive. I wouldn't say I'm an intellectual, but my 4.06 GPA, parents, friends, and teachers say otherwise. I guess I'll never know
Hey! Metal and heavy rock fan here I am very introverted and have social anxiety so it's nice to know my music taste matches my personality lol
Lol same
This must be one of my favorite videos since I'm really PASSIONATE about music and I plan on making a career of it, TY so much Psych2go ❤️
My favorite genres:
All of the above.
(All music is great as long as it fits with the situation)
So do I! When I'm gaming, I choose any to all video game music on Spotify when I'm playing.
Yes
Actually, as expected, my favorite music genre was not included here. (Expected because I have yet to find a friend in my everyday life who likes the same music.) My favorite music genre...It's orchestral movie scores. Perhaps CLOSE to classical music in that it is orchestral, but the composition style is just different, and I think that's key. I wonder what it says about someone to like orchestral movie scores, I really do. Also wish I could find more people to be friends with who like the same music as me... :/
what’s your favourite one?
I like those 2
I like rap, pop, rock and heavy metal.
Can we talk about the K ON reference 2:14? I loved it.
I don't stick to one genre of music
I always pick any type of genre that depending on my mood
Same
THE K-ON REFERENCE- 💛💛💛
Soft rock, Country, Ambient, Vaporwave, Synthwave, and DOOM-like music to play games where you just kill enemies like John Wick. Also Cyberpunk 2077 & Cyberpunk: Edgerunners tracks are the BEST. Especially "I Really Want to Stay at Your House", "This Fffire"...
Also yeah I like to listen to Video Game OSTs sometimes, like TLoU & TLoU PART II, and again, Cyberpunk 2077... the list is really big.
I like the Rock, Indie and Classical genres and I'm an introvert with high self esteem.
Really like Electro Swings, not a really popular genre but damn, if you found a good one, it hits hard as hell
Sounds interesting! Can you suggest a song? I'm really curious!
empires by the electro swing circus is pretty good imo

Electro swing is pretty cool ngl
It’s impossible for me to find out my personality based on this… I just love so many of them, it’s hard to decide!

Something my dad taught me when I was younger is that every song you listen to tells a story, and it's up to you to figure out what that story tells.
💯💯💯💯
I love a lot of music, but the only genre I can say I don’t like is probably pop. For me, it’s just too mainstream!
But (unpopular opinion nowadays) I really love country music. For those of you who don’t like it or think it’s stupid, I think you should look at the lyrics of the songs. Songs like “Brothers” by Dean Brody and “Travelin’ Soldier“ by The Chicks are really beautiful. I don’t always listen to country, but when I do, I feel happy, at ease, and inspired. ☺️
Thank you Psych2Go for an awesome video!! Love you guys 🧡
completely agree with you, country music is not all that popular today, and I personally think country is one of the best genres of music,
Me a metalhead who also loves classical music: guess I got the whole creative introvert package right there 😅(kinda true tho)
I was waiting for the Indie music to pop up. Turns out everything you stated is true.
Damn, this really gives a whole different meaning to "Ya like jazz?"
Currently I'm more inclined towards Uplifting trance and symphonic metal (nightwish)
Anime is a big factor in my music taste.
I like those first 3 too
Rock and heavy metal is so true for me, and it's all I listen to (and my dad and sister call it trash, but it's what I like, and it help me drown out everybody/everything else)😉
The metal part is 100% accurate
I'm pushing the line of the standard Hip Hop fan. I'm generally high on self-esteem but pretty much an introvert, I'm comfortable in social settings but truthfully never wanna be there lol
My 2 favourites are indie and rock and it matches me a lot-
My favourite genres are pop, rap and hip-hop and especially the hip-hop description was quite the opposite of me. Though I agree that I like to define myself with music - it sometimes makes me feel energised, self-confident or excited which are things that I naturally miss and would like to have/be.
1:15 pop
1:39 rap and hip hop
1:52 the best one
2:18 indie
2:48 classical
3:12 country
3:28 jazz, soul, blues
3:52 dance music
I'm a fan of indie rock and metal..... and the combined descriptions are scarily accurate.
My favourite music genre is everything. Keep up the good work.
My Playlist on Spotify is so mixed that it's difficult to pin just one down. There's Broadway, female punk, lots of LGBT, but i think if i had to pick one genre over all the ones i enjoy it'd have to be Celtic music. I LOVE Irish music so freaking much!
do you have any recommandations of female punk bands or songs? :)
@@azura.lit.des.livres Actually yeah! Beach Bunny is one band i really like to listen to. It's not exactly punk but it's got some great poppy sounds to a rebellious female vibe.

Hey, what about people who like to listen to Catholic chants and medieval songs?
Mostly adventurous.
As someone who listens to every type of music I see this as an absolute win
As a creative individual, I appreciate various genres of music primarily due to the emotions they evoke. Depending on the situation I may prefer to listen to a specific genre at any given moment, mainly so I can immerse myself in the music and learn from its emotions.
4:10 Is that cartoon Avicii? 🥺
I'm a big EDM fan, so Idk if Dance really cuts it. The personality traits line up quite a bit though, so I guess so
I think it is, so happy someone else noticed! :)
Hatsune Miku in ur style is so adorable
What about people who listen to songs they relate to? I listen to a lot of Vocaloid which can be difficult to categorize due to its branching genres. But I listen to a lot of the…depressing songs. (Ex: Rolling Girl, Lost One’s Weeping, Jishoumushoku, Inochi ni Kirawarete iru).
That's indie music I think
I love pop music and I even enjoy singing to songs (when no one is around lol) but I'm creative, I draw a lot and write songs. Everyone is different!
I’m a big fan of classical music.
Me too!
Video starts at 1:14
Omg is Hatsune Miku in the thumbnail that's cute
WORDS CAN'T DESCRIBE HOW REAL THIS IS
I LOVE METAL AND ROCK AND I'M SENSITIVE AND QUIET
It's interesting to be a music lover, you capture every genre of music a little bit😅
My two personal favorite genres are Rock/Metal and Jazz/Soul/Blues! Both genres are very similar, while being wildly different at the same time!
I'm a fan of EDM music but my personality fits more for the heavy metal fan. I like metal too though.
MIKU
My fav is industrial hardcore 😃
What if I like a lot of genres💀
ts is literally me
Bro same just look at my playlist
I'm a very universally varied person too in all criteria so ig I've multiple personalities lmfao 💀
When jazz came up i laughed inside, im severly mentally ill and introverted with no friends💯
I personally love pop, rock, indie, r&b and dance music !
2:56 But I did not get mentioned? I see how it is 😔😢😭
My god the description of rock is completely correct for me
Indie , rock and dance are my favourites ! Although i also like metal sometimes!
I listen death metal and black metal for some people its just a noise but not for me i can understand what they saying i found out i have talent in guitar last year i bought my first guitar and at the first week i started to play thunderstruck perfectly now i can shred my fav death metal solos after playin 1 year of guitar!! I dont care anmyore people saying its just a noise, im a gentle person and i often say to them music is subjective and i dont really talk with people if they talk or need help i would love to help them
My favorite genre is pop but I relate more to indie which is my second favorite
i didnt expect heavy metal (my fav) to be so accurately me
They asked if your headphones were blaring out loud rock music before the video. Oops! I just came from watching a skillet music video with my pink, light up cat ear headphones! ❤
metal, classical, jazz. by comparing all of the traits of these and then always picking the dominant ones and ones missing from others, you nail me
I'm a big music lover and love a variety of music, but classical music speaks to my soul! I felt that track you playing for classical music in a special way I can't describe. The traits for that genre were pretty spot on for me as well :) Also, the picture for the country section with the person playing guitar and singing with animal friends was so pure. I wish I could do that in real life 😊
everyone always forgets RnB and it crushes me, it's such an underrated, diverse genre
What about folk/pseudo-folk? My favourite playlist is a bunch of songs you could potentially hear on a fantasy adventure. Dulaman, the Misty Mountains, Sa Rider Jag Mig, Rolandskavedet, etc.
I have to say, my favourite genres are Indie and Soul Blues, but I do like a bit of Pop, Country, Dance, Rock/Heavy Metal, and Jazz. I am introverted.
