I LOVE indie music and artists like Clairo and Red Dress Girl cuz I just luv the vibe of the music and the soothing sounds of the singer’s voice as they tell a story with their songs
It's a kinda niche genre, but I'd love to see folk music. Whether it be covers of actual old folk songs or modern songs in that style, it's my favorite. An example artist is Heather Dale.
Shoutouts to comedy music enjoyers, i'm talking Tenacious D, The Lonely Island, Tom Cardy, Weird Al, Jazz Emu, Brain David Gilbert, Psychostick. Gotta be one of my favourite genders fr, the art of comedy and the art of music mashed together
If you do a part two, could you expand on more subgenres? I'd kill to see grunge (90s rock. Think Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, and more) personified since it's my favorite genre lol. I have a feeling that it might be too dark though, since substance abuse and suicide have plagued many grunge artists in particular 👊😔
Also, for the last category, I will say. Jazz EMU produces some great music for this. Like still waiting, talks about the dvd logo. And the corner of the TV screen, which is great. I think there are some other ones that are really funny by him. Listen to him, he's great, please.
I was hoping there would be someone in the comments who also loves Vocaloid songs, I got into Vocaloid music only recently but I am absolutely loving it...
They can fall under a lot of genres since it's more like a device than a genre I love vocaloid songs in general tho! But i listen to more melanie martinez
Honestly, the revenge country vibes are my favorite country music. The other "beer, girls, and truck" stuff is too boring and just not my vibe. I need more rock or pop in it. I also have some sad girl music, but instead I just prefer clever lyrics with emotional or interesting stories with some vibe (Lemon Demon is an example..... turns out you mentioned it at the very end lol) I'll listen to hyperpop when needing to stim or just go adhd haywire
Your analysis of indie was spot on. I don’t only listen to sad songs, but I really love how open and honest artists can be when they’re not trying to please everyone
Amazing drawings!!! They’re so cute!!! Also, anyone else just love J-metal or J-rock specifically that’s really hard rock-like and you didn’t realize it but it’s really dark and about the world burning? “USSEEWA” by Ado is an example or “Mind Brand” by Maretu, literally any Maretu song is an example. At least for me, I’m a sweetheart who’s very loud and loves a fun time
You did amazing on this video. I dont usually enjoy “what this __ says about ypu” videos bc they are usually so surface-level. You actually went into serious detail and thought about what drives people to love what music they listen to. Brava!
Your art is so incredible! I love the depth and detail to them, and the explanation behind them. It’d be cool to see a part two! I personally listen to pop punk, occasionally spirit phone, but overall it’s more alt
As a smiths fan, their music does not bring me down at all. It's like, looking at life's worst parts and accepting it with a bit of humour. "Ask" is such a chill song.
Depends on the song I'd say. This Charming Man and Panic are gonna make me have a damn dance party whereas Asleep straight up makes me feel suicidal ngl.
I can respect that perspective on pop music enjoyers. It was surprising to learn that Adam Savage, a great creator inspiration of mine, enjoys it just cuz that music was there for him in through times and he's definitely not very "normal" but is really down to earth.
I love all your in depth observations on each genre! I think for the hyperpop character, there should be lots and lots and lots of accessories like layered chain belts, lightning earrings, garter belts, chockers, ect! Like harajuku fasion! (Because hyperpop has a LOT of things going on! 🎉) I love all the designs tho!! ❤❤
Me personally, it's just video game OSTs. Mostly indie games. Then also a bit of classical. And like, maybe a little light metal. But I don't really listen to like, actual metal. And also, like dumb songs that get stuck in your head like on the radio and stuff. And then like, original piano compositions. And I like guitar though. Oh, and I also love drum & bass music. I also love oh god I'm realizing I love literally all music
Oh these are really interesting, we’d kind of want to see like this type of take with err we don’t really have any other examples but will woods music, that sort of evil jazz genre, ya know?
As a “sad girl music” and “silly serious music” (?) fan, I just want you tell you; THE ACCURACY??! Also I hope you can do a 60-90s drawing or anything in between, since it is the music I personally listen to majorly
I’d love to see your take on Lofi and synthwave. Those two I know aren’t really genres to some people, but I’d still like to see how you would visualize them as characters. Aside from pop and rap, pop being my favorite as I mentioned, Lofi and synthwave are my go to genres for chill kinds of music. So yeah, amazing video lavender! Glad to be checking your videos out again ❤
both are music genres lol. lofi is definitely a genre, i love listening to early car seat headrest which is lofi. synthwave is an aesthetic but a music genre was born to replicate that aesthetic ☝️🤓
I’d love to see a k-pop character like this. It definitely has bad seeds who are obsessed with the idols (which a lot of time the companies actually encourage these actions, especially with how albums are full of photos of each of the members, some albums have member versions of the album, and there are many other things that companies push to give fans what they want), but I also think many of the fans really care for their idols (they voice their opinions, they fight for their groups when they think companies mishandle their artists, and even protest trucks and such get set out in front of the companies). I also think K-Pop really markets to people who love performances, who want to see idols who really put 100% into their performances. I also think K-Pop says about the people who listen to it is that you are open minded and really appreciate the artist, since many of them don’t make much money from their music, so basically a caring person who can be obsessive if not kept in check. They also try and stand up for other people online (like they changed an offensive hashtag into something positive on Twitter/X), but there also are fans who aren’t good in the fandoms (like LE SSERAFIM’s fans reacting to merch ad they had a couple months ago having a dark skin model in the ad and basically these “fans” thought she was going to be added to the group and whatnot and basically called her racist names and even stated the stupidest hashtag, keepkpopkorean, which is ironically funny, since many K-Pop songs are inspired by music from the west and some even made by artists outside of Korea and Asia (especially in the company SM Entertainment), and many of the songs taking from black artists sounds, let alone Michael Jackson having been one of the main influences in the creation of the genre).
Next time, when making a long comment like this, you should split it into paragraphs so people won't get too overwhelmed looking at this comment. This is just my opinion, just so you know
Yayy I’m so happy to see hyperpop on here!! :D Hyperpop, vocaloid, glitchcore, breakcore etc are some of my absolute favourites! (I certainly fit the stereotype in this video lol)
My favorite genres are lofi, pop rock, and indie, though I’ll honestly listen to anything (except rap and country, not really my cup of tea) For a part 2, you could do rock, classical, and lofi. It’d be really cool how you interpret those genres :)
I particularly enjoyed this video, because of how wholesome it was. Such a breath of fresh air in an era you’re pressured into self-loathing, because of the music you listen to.
Technically my favorite genre is electro-swing but honestly I listen to everything - pop, some forms of rap, cutesy songs, really dark songs, beautiful songs, songs with deep messages, songs that I just enjoy the sound of - I just like... music. I like it in a lot of different ways and for a lot of different reasons. And honestly, I can find traits of all of these characters in myself, so that fits lol.
Whilst lemon demon is one of my favourite artists and I love that genre of music, I also love will wood/will wood and the tapeworms yet I have no idea what genre he is so I’d love if you made one of these on his music or stuff like it!
I think that's why Will Wood's music is so interesting, its the fact that it's sort of a mix of a bunch of different genres. It just makes listening to his music so enjoyable and you always find some new things each time you relisten.
There are so many genres i would love to see apart 2! My personal genre is like lofi-rap and I would love to see that cuz I never see anyone talk about it!
Im def on Indie, Rock and the Silly Serious music! I always prefer songs to have their own identity and be honest with art expression! (Which kind of why I dont like generic songs about the same thing about romance as I cant resonate with it and can't daydream about stories with it -)
Where in the rocksphere? There is a billion subgenres. Hell, I doubt a straight foward rock single even exists cause it ends up being blues influenced hard rock, garage rock revival, or some other shi.
In my opinion, pop shouldn’t even really count as a genre because “pop” just means popular music. Like, the things everyone is listening to or is doing well on the charts. It doesn’t really describe the sound and feel of the music. Like, under those rules, Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa would go under the “pop” umbrella and those two things couldn’t be FURTHER from each other
Pop def has a general sound though. Just because something becomes popular doesn’t mean it’s not part of a different genre. That’s an overly literal translation. Madonna is pop, Backstreet Boys, Brittany Spears, etc. simple beat with repetitive lyrics and instruments. Usually just puts the vocals on display.

do you eat bugs on your toast?
@@justagirlwearingglasses No, but I go outside, I touch the grass, I eat the dirt, it's dark outside
My playlist is like 80% ghost's songs and covers of their songs, 10% vocaloid songs from other producers, and the rest are songs by human singers and musicians
I'd love to see a part 2 that includes classical music as well as jazz or swing!! These are some of my favorite genres!! :D
Wheres the video talking about hazbin hotel gone? I was planning to watch it and its just gone?
i think she said she was gonna redo it
She got alot wrong and so she's taken the video down and plans to make a better one soon ! ^^
Thank you everyone for letting me know :))))
I was wondering the same things, thanks ^ ^
songs from each of these genres that i genuinely like:
1. goodbye earl (the chicks)
2. liquid smooth (mitski)
3. sugarcrash! (elyotto)
4. cruel summer(?) (taylor swift)
5. touch-tone telephone (lemon demon)
Dude elyotto is my favorite artist!! Sugarcrash! Introduced me to his music and now Stalker is my favorite song of his :33
As a lemon demon fan I audibly clapped at the last one
Goodbye Earl is awesome! I'll have to check out 🍋 😈 as that genre sounds super appealing.
The chicls are soo good. they were my childhood
God I love touch tone telephone
I would LOVEE a part two with indie folk or just folk music. That type of music is literally my personality :3
Yes! Thank you, I was gonna say the same thing. Some of my favorite artists are The Crane Wives, Iron and Wine, and Hozier, and I wish this genre got the attention it deserves. (Idk if that's what you meant, but still :])
It absolutely is! I love crane wives and stuff like the oh hellos or yealokre. The genre is definitely underrated often when I talk about my music taste most people aren't familiar with it. @@wendigoblin427
@@goblinacorn1843 omg fellow oh hellos fan? I love them, I was introduced through soldier poet king and then ended up listening to the four winds and got hooked
They are my favorite band ever honestly everything they make is brilliant! @@Jakesfji
Lavender out here exposing all of us 😰😰 absolutely gorgeous art btw!!!
I like the "weird" music and the description is sooo accurate (the eye on the hat of the character design was a cherry on top :Dd). I'd love to see a part two!
Do sea shanties apply to this. Im a longest Jhons fanatic and would love to see what that says about myself
Listen to filk
Shoutouts to comedy music enjoyers, i'm talking Tenacious D, The Lonely Island, Tom Cardy, Weird Al, Jazz Emu, Brain David Gilbert, Psychostick. Gotta be one of my favourite genders fr, the art of comedy and the art of music mashed together
Wolves of Glendale is a quality band in that category too
ah yes, 🧠 david gilbert
yes to all of those 💜 especially weird al and tom cardy
gotta shout out my boys ninja sex party too.
If you do a part two, could you expand on more subgenres? I'd kill to see grunge (90s rock. Think Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, and more) personified since it's my favorite genre lol.
I have a feeling that it might be too dark though, since substance abuse and suicide have plagued many grunge artists in particular 👊😔
bro just described my entire music taste 💀
RHCP, REM, and Police can fit in that list too I think
Also, for the last category, I will say. Jazz EMU produces some great music for this. Like still waiting, talks about the dvd logo. And the corner of the TV screen, which is great. I think there are some other ones that are really funny by him. Listen to him, he's great, please.
I'm so happy that you are posting more!
PLZ DO A PART 2 AND PLZ INCLUDE CLASSICAL MUSIC TASTE 🥺🥺🥺
YES YES YES YES YES I WAS JUST ABOUT TO COMMENT THIS
ABSOLUTELY YESS
There's so many types of classical music and so many different people who listen tho 😭
But yeah I agree classical would be cool
im a diehard Alkan fan, and i love classicall music
@@tinyguyandfriends6536 Cool!!! :D
I hope you do a part 2! As a fellow retired 2000's deviantart weeb, I would love to see your take on j-pop/vkei/vocaloid/nightcore fans.
oh no she already got me once not again-
One of my favourite genres at the moment is Vocaloid songs, or whatever category that falls under
I was hoping there would be someone in the comments who also loves Vocaloid songs, I got into Vocaloid music only recently but I am absolutely loving it...
Yesssss! I hope she does Vocaloid soon...I know it's so diverse but yet it's it own genre I swear...
YESSSS omg I live laugh love Vocaloid so frickin much and where I'm from people just don't get it
They can fall under a lot of genres since it's more like a device than a genre
I love vocaloid songs in general tho! But i listen to more melanie martinez
Ooooo yess I just started liking some vocaloid it’s pretty good
13:35 the best example I can think of is “as your father expressly forbid it” great song btw
OOF, yes, exactly, that song hits so hard every time.
@@dinoheartnerd2265 IKR! I know pretty much every word to it
I LOVE MITSKI SHE MAKES MY ENTIRE DAY SO MUCH BETTER
The last one is literally me :DDD Btw this video is really good!! ★
HOW DID U COMMENT THAT EARLY?.
How did it say 1d ago?
how did you do that
HOW?!
It's cause their a channel member. You can tell from the eye next to their name @@MangoFioat
They are all so cute. You made a great point about pop having endless possibilities. I would love to see rock music if you make another one!
Honestly, the revenge country vibes are my favorite country music. The other "beer, girls, and truck" stuff is too boring and just not my vibe. I need more rock or pop in it.
I also have some sad girl music, but instead I just prefer clever lyrics with emotional or interesting stories with some vibe (Lemon Demon is an example..... turns out you mentioned it at the very end lol)
I'll listen to hyperpop when needing to stim or just go adhd haywire
i’ve always called the “revenge country music” girlboss country!
I felt so called out from the sad girl music genre. I love how well all of them are described and the art that goes along with them.
We obviously need a part 2
Your analysis of indie was spot on. I don’t only listen to sad songs, but I really love how open and honest artists can be when they’re not trying to please everyone
Adorable character designs as always 😩
BREAKCORE NEXT 🗣🗣🗣
Yes please
PLZ YES, or maybe dnb as a whole!!!!!
you are so real for this
Agreed
YES REAL
As a smiths fan, their music does not bring me down at all. It's like, looking at life's worst parts and accepting it with a bit of humour. "Ask" is such a chill song.
reallll
YEAH SAME
I LOVE the Smiths oml YES ❤❤
Depends on the song I'd say. This Charming Man and Panic are gonna make me have a damn dance party whereas Asleep straight up makes me feel suicidal ngl.
I love your art style :D my favorite type of music are sad songs that sound happy or lemon demon
For the first one, You ever heard Bitter Water by The Oh Hellos?
I can respect that perspective on pop music enjoyers. It was surprising to learn that Adam Savage, a great creator inspiration of mine, enjoys it just cuz that music was there for him in through times and he's definitely not very "normal" but is really down to earth.
Whenever Lavender does these types of videos I always am in awe how she explains me spot on😭😭💗
I listen to all of these, not really country but I accept some songs. And I absolutely love the designs, and you described them pretty well :)
I like kpop, jpop and the instrumental osts to anime or movies I've seen :) Also, great video as usual!
Lavender has the best videos to chill to, the voiceover is always so soothing 🥰
i like music with a soft or catchy beat with dark lyrics, or dark visuals, or literally just any music that combines cute with creepy
do you like melanie martinez or jazmin bean? they both have that similar vibe and i enjoy it too
@@mxlancholicrose yeah i love melanie martinez
idk about jazmin bean tho
Samee
J-pop and vocaloid songs fit your criteria 😂 such bangers with depressing lyrics that make you messed up
There is a band named babymetal and their most popular song is just violently screaming how they love chocolate
I love all your in depth observations on each genre!
I think for the hyperpop character, there should be lots and lots and lots of accessories like layered chain belts, lightning earrings, garter belts, chockers, ect! Like harajuku fasion! (Because hyperpop has a LOT of things going on! 🎉)
I love all the designs tho!!
If you do a part 2, nu metal (KoЯn, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, System of a Down, Slipknot, ect. ) would be a cool genre to use
Yes nu metal and make the character wear tripp pants or something
Please do a part two!! These are literally adorable! I love your art so much! You're genuinely so creative!!!💛
I think for the last one bo burnam and Simon and Garfunkel are also amazing as well as Jack stauber but he’s more of micropop imo
They also try and stand up for other people online (like they changed an offensive hashtag into something positive on Twitter/X), but there also are fans who aren’t good in the fandoms (like LE SSERAFIM’s fans reacting to merch ad they had a couple months ago having a dark skin model in the ad and basically these “fans” thought she was going to be added to the group and whatnot and basically called her racist names and even stated the stupidest hashtag, keepkpopkorean, which is ironically funny, since many K-Pop songs are inspired by music from the west and some even made by artists outside of Korea and Asia (especially in the company SM Entertainment), and many of the songs taking from black artists sounds, let alone Michael Jackson having been one of the main influences in the creation of the genre).
bro wrote an entire essay
@@bow_to_gorbIt was an interesting essay though
Next time, when making a long comment like this, you should split it into paragraphs so people won't get too overwhelmed looking at this comment.
This is just my opinion, just so you know
as a will wood, lemon demon, glass animals but also vocaloid and an avid consumer of game osts I DONT EVEN KNOW WHERE I FIT IN THIS VID
tbh my favourite genre is loud crunchy music that makes me go deaf, its like asmr for me
CANT BELIEVE I GOT ON THIS VIDEO 54 SECONDS AFTER IT WAS BORN
Yayy I’m so happy to see hyperpop on here!! :D
Hyperpop, vocaloid, glitchcore, breakcore etc are some of my absolute favourites! (I certainly fit the stereotype in this video lol)
Lol same
Same
omg another breakcore fan :0
My favorite genres are lofi, pop rock, and indie, though I’ll honestly listen to anything (except rap and country, not really my cup of tea)
For a part 2, you could do rock, classical, and lofi. It’d be really cool how you interpret those genres :)
metal, classical, and the mix of both that is so rare but so good
Symphonic metal is great! Prog also dips in there like Dreamthearter
I particularly enjoyed this video, because of how wholesome it was. Such a breath of fresh air in an era you’re pressured into self-loathing, because of the music you listen to.
I rlly love indie, folk, and acoustic type songs with some peaceful piano vibes mixed in
Technically my favorite genre is electro-swing but honestly I listen to everything - pop, some forms of rap, cutesy songs, really dark songs, beautiful songs, songs with deep messages, songs that I just enjoy the sound of - I just like...
I want to listen to her voice all day long, no matter what she’s talking about. Her voice is so relaxing.
Im def on Indie, Rock and the Silly Serious music!
I always prefer songs to have their own identity and be honest with art expression!
(Which kind of why I dont like generic songs about the same thing about romance as I cant resonate with it and can't daydream about stories with it -)
You phrased that so nicely! I totally agree ♡
Where in the rocksphere? There is a billion subgenres. Hell, I doubt a straight foward rock single even exists cause it ends up being blues influenced hard rock, garage rock revival, or some other shi.
real
@@UnforgetableLuncheon
It really depends on the rock song to say least-
In my opinion, pop shouldn’t even really count as a genre because “pop” just means popular music.
I literally love your character design, it’s so cute❤
I just wanted to say I loved everything about this video this is one of the best prompts for drawing characters :)
Your drawings are always amazing!
Next part may be on ambient, synth, folk and some other niche genres.
We NEED a part 2, perhaps grunge or metal?
