Simple buttercream: Cream together 1 stick of butter (room temperature) and 1 cup of Hi-ratio shortening (scraping sides often) Then add 3 1/2 cups of powdered or confectioners sugar slowly tablespoon by tablespoon on the lowest speed. After sugar been added then mix in 1 tablespoon of vanilla or almond extract. Have 1/3 cup of milk aside to add to the buttercream little by little until you have desired consistency.
that looks like shortening frosting . . . blech. I just can't get used to the waxiness. But using the posterboard as a bench scraper looks great and would work with my all butter buttercream, which doesn't really crust.
Carlo's bakery i've seen that they use in the program an italian meringue buttercream but it takes a lot of time and if you don't have a candy thermometer or something it is time consuming. I just could give you my personal recipe cause the Carlo's bakery i don't have that hahaha

buddy uses italian buttercream. that is not a recipe for italian buttercream
