This is how a tutorial ought to play out. Short, sweet, genial host, cooperative crew (your son), results. Blo0pers are always appreciated! This one only adds to the tutorial itself. Cheers!

      Thanks mate. Appreciate the feedback.
In getting myself bogged for the video, I dug in too far and was sitting on the fuel tank, diff and chassis rails! What I should have recorded was using the high lift jack on each corner to raise each tyre in turn, fill in some sand and put the recovery board right under it. That's how we managed to get enough traction to drive out!
Check out our just released Tyre Deflators video, which has a similar end where I don't know how to stop my mate's deflator/inflator beeping at me!

I always just drove off after digging all 4 tires, no need for boards...

Thanks for the comment. That's a great point. I mention that when you get stuck, there are a few things you can do - rock backwards and forwards is an example. If that doesn't work, digging in front or behind the tyres and then driving out may just work.

    1st rule…have a Patrol…2nd rule…learn how to use a tyre gauge

Haha. You won't get an argument from me about Patrols. I have owned GQ and GU Patrols which have brought me back from all sorts of adventures. And you are right about the tyre gauge. At the end of the day, most 4WD with a good set of tyres on the right pressures will be up to most challenges. Tyre pressures is the topic of a future Off-road Insight.
