  • It's time for a day hike in beautiful spring weather on Öland in Sweden. I'm taking the 6.5 km long Tengöleden with Nix, and this trail is special! We walk trough natural, cultural and historical landscapes, extremily species-rich forests and the unique Great Alvar... and you are welcome to join me!

    It is not always about "Bushcraft". Sometimes it is about relaxing and enjoying life. In a photography class I took they said "Don't sacrifice the experience for the photo. Sometimes you have to set you camera down and just soak up the beauty." Love the video!!

    Emelie - Such a variety of biomes on the island. Flies, a big beetle and butterflies, but apparently no mosquitoes yet. That's a good thing - just the right amount of those little blood suckers. Interesting factoid about Road 136. Were I there, I think I'd take a moment to stand on that road and imagine who had walked on it over the centuries, and what their lives might have been like. Stay safe out there.

    They didn't become short, the long ones, there, get eaten. In another place, the long would survive. The seeds contain all possible types of plant. 🌿🌱💚🇸🇮 Öland is a fabulous place.

    • @survivalbushcraftwithemelie
      @survivalbushcraftwithemelie  5 лет назад

      The seed contains all possible types of plant? Well, the ones who are long has been eaten so that allele isn't present in this population anymore. But the seed still carry the gene for the length. It all has to do with how the environment affects the individual. In this case the "short" allele is better adapted. I'm sorry if I can't explain this better, English isn't my mother tongue but I have taught genetics in high school (gymnasium). Same thing happens if you mow the lawn year after year. You'll get more short flowers. At least they taught me that at the university when I studied biology 😊 And yes, Öland is a fabulous place ❤
