- This is an alternate ending not featured in any of the releases. It includes Julianne calling George, who is at home and meeting a new man and dancing with him instead

I wouldn’t mind this ending if they had introduced the guy earlier in the movie, but as much as I love him and would’ve loved her to end up with someone at the end, the real ending with George is so much more clever, sweet, and funny
I would’ve HATED the movie if it ended like this. That final scene with George is magnificent.
Y todas esas personas que actuaron en el final alternativo? :( aunque no me gusta ese final, me imagino la desilusión que deben haber sentido al ir a ver la película y notar que sus escenas fueron descartadas.
Bueno, ahora ya son más conocidos 😅
I loved the cook choir, but they held it too long. But what makes me love this movie is that it in no way has a happy ending for Julianne. Because she made the wrong decision by not being together with Michael in the past. She did something wrong by trying to separate him from his fiancé. It would be unrealistic for her to have a happy ending, for Michael to come back to her. Likewise, it would be unrealistic to meet someone new immediately. But with George's return, this movie showed us the importance of true friends in our lives. Because we get through every bad thing that happens to us in relationships, and we share our happiness with them. That was a very good message. Also, Rupert Everett did a great acting, he was great. The only thing that's too beautiful to be realistic here is this: Can we really have friends like George?
Glad this scene was cut. The actual ending was much better and made more sense.
To people that say THIS IS THE BETTER ENDING: do you not understand that shes not supposed to find someone YET. Shes gotta process all the emotions that she closed herself off to for so many years. Dating this new guy will make her realize that she still wants the other guy. She gotta give it time to heal.
I agree but it would be nice the cookers singing while she dances with George don't you think?
Wasnt it some kind of competition for her, was it love? I cant decide
I'm sorry... Did we watch the same ending? Does it end with her getting married to this guy? Does it end with her immediately hopping into a relationship with him and moving in with him? No! And ends with her simply meeting him. As in, hinting that after all the hell she's been through and the pain that she's had to deal with, after she does the right thing and let's go of the man that she loves and fully supports him moving on in his life with someone else, she meets somebody to begin the next chapter of her life. Why is that a bad thing?? Let you tell it, she's supposed to go and sulk for the next couple of years in heartbreak and loneliness, and maybe eventually she'll meet someone... Or not. Yeah, such a better ending.
@@jlcii The ending of a film sends out a strong message. It is what resonates with people after the film is over. And for a film that wanted to subvert a lot of romcom tropes, this film would not end with an ending of, there are plenty of fish in the sea. No she is not supposed to sulk for the next couple of years in loneliness, she has to take however much time is needed to process her emotions. To figure herself out, and the things she needs. A lot of people immediately jump into another relationship without having processed their previous one. Time heals nothing, its what you do with that time that counts. If they had gone with this ending, it might have come across as her not needing George, and that there are other guys out there. But that contradicts a lot of the themes of the films. She does not need to be with anyone right now. She isn't ready for a relationship. So yeah, it was a better ending.
it also completely blows the entire premise of the film of A) how desperately in love Jules is with Micheal B) the desperation and futility of "it's too late"
I love it that George was the one with her at the end. We can find love in different forms through different relationships. George's love for her, though not romantic, is just what she needs after a heartbreak. Just like how we need our friends and family after goin through a loss.
Platonic Love
I read that the original film fed to test audiences didn't feature George as much. He was a very minor role, and they hated the movie and Julianne. They decided to make George a more prominent character and call Julianne out often. This also changed the ending.
Glad they went with the final film version then this one. The ending they chose was cuter and more upbeat with George being a true friend who knows Julianne is hurting and is there to cheer her up. Julianne seems genuinely happier dancing with George in the final film ending. It makes more sense that the band played that paticular song because George requested it , rather then it just being a random and convenent coincidence. The film ending is thankfully more realistic with no singing and dancing wedding staff. It's also more realistic that Julianne is not being rushed into finding someone so quickly after just conceding the man she loves. The whole point of the ending is that she redeems her scheming behavior by showing that she does truely love Michael and everything she did was out of that love. She would not be ready to move on so quickly and George as her friend and confidant would know it. This is why it works so well in the final version that he is there to support and comfort her. The film ending with George taking over the role of her best friend now that Michael has moved on with Kimmy is far more touching then her symbolically moving on by dancing with a random guy. With her pal George there to support her it leaves the viewer knowing that eventually she will move on.
I agree completely! I am sooo glad that they scrapped this ending...it defeats the whole theme and heart of the film which is true friendship. This film is brilliant because it isn't technically a "buddy love"/romantic comedy movie...it's actually a "Rites of Passage" themed genre (you can look this up in Blake Snyder's Save the Cat book if you're curious) which consists of three stages (very much like your beginning middle and end). the first (beginning) being: life problem. In this film's case: Julianne is presented with a life problem; she's afraid of losing her best friend because he's marrying someone else. The second (middle) stage is: wrong way. She goes about dealing with this life problem the wrong way but trying to sabotage the wedding and break them up. The third and final (end) stage: acceptance. She realises the errors of her ways, that to truly love her best friend Michael she must do the right thing which is to accept that he's marrying Kimmy and let him go, which she does. but the heart of this film, as i said before, is friendship. She's afraid of losing her best friend but she doesn't actually lose him. But when George shows up to support her, he reminds her that she still has her best friend and will always have her best friend, who knows her loves her and is there for her always, because George is her best friend too. The original ending always leaves you smiling. :)
Well said
I actually agree with this 100%
This was the SECOND ending - muckamucks didn’t think audiences could handle the ending as written, but needed a HAPPYENDING.
First test audience response - HATED it - silence from the first indication that they - and our girl - were being treated like idiots.
Cringe
terrible ending. So glad they went back and re-shot it with her gay bff.
are you homophobic , my friend
@@shawngoesonn how is that homophobic, moron?
I agree
TightFes that wasn’t even homophobic? George is gay. He didn’t say anything horrible about gay people. You’re just reaching
Sorry but no, it never been fact that her bff is gay. It is just his mannerism stop assuming things.
The ending they chose was REALISTIC which makes the movie so darn good and remembered as a classic. This ending is so unrealistic, in the sense that what are the odds of a woman finding another man that fast and quickly right after chasing a man they just watched get married while wondering around his wedding on the phone to a gay bestfriend? Life doesn’t work this way, life is all about lessons and experiencing. The ending they chose with her friend arriving to the wedding to be there for her and give her some wisdom and truth to then dancing with her and making her smile again was just perfect, honestly. This ending truely makes you appreciate the one they chose 👌
The original ending is WAY BETTER!!! The original ending definitely puts a smile on your face.
Lufthansa631 yes! And a lection!!
Absolutely😊
Girl, this is THE original ending. We hated it in the screening so they changed it.
I don't like the new ending should have kept this
@@liev3057 I didn't think she meet this ending,I think she meet other ending they end up with.
No I definitely prefer the original ending. This felt a little bit off and a bit forced, lacked chemistry between the two. Also it's harder for the audience to relate to this other guy as we've only just met him, but we've seen George throughout.
The original ending is so much better... Jules loses Michael but keeps her gay best friend George. Life goes on, hoping that she finds the next perfect guy for her... kind of like how life is. In the meantime, there will be more dancing until she does!!! :-)
Thanks for posting this make appericate the Other ending a lot more
*Tv*Movie*Sparks I guess
Yes. This is a bit too much 😂
I was yesterday's years old when I discovered this was the original ending. Glad they went with a different (cinematic) ending instead!
@@Joekool88 me too
This ending would have ruined my favorite movie.
ikr
the original ending was much better and memorable
I like the George ending better. George was one of the people that taught her a lesson in life. He was a great friend to her. He was a little rude at times but it needed to be done because he cared about her
Imagine telling your kids you met their dad at the wedding you were trying to crash cause you wanted the groom?
I loved the original ending it was definitely something that could happened to a 30 yr old single person.
THANKGOD THIS WASNT PUT INTO FILM. My Bestfriends Wedding is THE most memorable heartbreaking/heartmelting/moment grabbing film for me. I wouldnt change it any other way 😊😊❤❤
Oh wow. This is horrible and corny. Wtf with the dancing staff?! Glad they didn't choose this version
I mean the whole intro was corny lol but they kept that
The original ending was better. The Director said he kept the original ending because it was about how Jules didn't need a man to be happy. She will find love again but in the meantime she can enjoy life with her bff and move on with her life, independently. It's a good ending.
I love the idea of her getting a very good looking man but I have to say I love the ending with George dancing with her best🤗 since it's more heartfelt and realistic not every girl gets the guy
I like the original ending better, but I wouldn't say no to dancing with John Corbett either
And what was up with the chefs and cooks singing and dancing for forever. What is this Beauty & The Beast? Just cuz it says "Forever" in the song doesn't mean this should. 🤣
That was like 50% of the reason this ending was so horrible. They were in the ending longer than Julianne was!
Awful! Glad they went with the other ending.
is that aiden shaw from sex and the city hitting on jules lol!
I also thought that.
Yep and he also is Ian on My Big Fat Greek Wedding :)
Aiden always going for the wrong women
I kinda like this ending. It is not as good as the original one but the people singing at the end was a nice touch and I like the fact of seeing Julianne giving herself a chance. Yes, she was terrible and it was too soon but I see this as an alternative universe nice to observe but not good enough to live in
when the kitchen staff started singing... no...maybe a end credits thing but no. thank god there was a rewrite
Después de tantos tantos años hasta hoy vengo viendo esto? Me siento mal!! Es mi película preferida y no sabía que tenía un final alternativo!!!, pero bueno, millon de veces mejor el que quedó como final de la peli💕
I prefer the other ending. The song "I will be ok" during the credits really goes with the whole idea.
Yes. The final ending is far superior. However, that being said, it is always interesting to see what the writers came up with as alternatives. I loooove the “making of” bonus features on DVDs. The audience sees the polished finished product looking supposedly “spontaneous” but in reality some scenes take days and days to complete after several takes just in order to look as realistically “spontaneous” as it can. Just an observation.
Love this movie so much.. This ending doesnt feel like its an ending tho😱😱 Much glad they used the actual ending, love it with all my hearts ❤❤
I feel bad for John Corbett (the guy asking for dance), he got his one chance dancing with Julia Roberts in a hit movie...and everyone, even the director, hated the only scene he's in.
But yeah, the ending was crappy.
I think he’s alright... :)
The only thing that's good about this ending is that we see Julia Roberts' lovely gown in all its glory! But her dancing here is more forced and awkward. She looked a lot happier dancing with George!! But the singing chefs is a cute touch.
I heard about this. When they ran it for test audiences they hated this ending. It seemed no one was ready for forgive Julianne to the point that she got a happy ending. They had to do a massive reshoot and we got the ending that we got.
She still did get a happy ending with George. The friendship ending was just much better.
John Corbett would have to have shown up earlier for to this ending to have had any real meaning. Maybe hitting on her at the rehearsal dinner or something. Anything really... Also, the singing wait staff was a little cheesy.
lol... cheesier than them singing off-key in a restaurant?
@@thatlittlezombie perfect and memorable scene?
It was cheesy, but you have to admit they were good😂
seriously now... don't you think Michael might be running looking for his best friend whenever he has problems with his wife?
When his wife is too loud.
I have a feeling after what happened, Kimmy would not want Julia around Michael.
@@ZeldasFinalFantasy I would not blame her and I don't think Michael wanted anything to do with Jules after she tried to ruin everything
Thank God they didn't choose this final version. I love the original one with George and Julianne dancing.
As much as I love John Corbett, this ending just falls flat. The one they went with is so much better.
Like the original ending because it is realistic, your best friend will always be there for you in sadness and happiness.
Omg!!! Can’t believe I’m just seeing this now!!
You were never supposed to see this in the first place
bad ending. good thing they decided to change this
This is a car crash ending- one of the many things I loved about the ending they went with us that after ‘giving away’ her and Michael’s song (The Way You Look Tonight), she and George Will now always have THIS song for their friendship! Julianne is way too independent and was untrue to herself in all her scheming- she never needed Michael or any other romance. Plus this ending is far too long and clunky! Definitely made the right choice for the ending
glad they went with the other
KAT TEMPLE Agree!!!
it only makes sense my friend............hugs to u
This ending is charming and cute but completely schizophrenic. Unless it was a musical and the kitchen crew was apart of the whole movie it makes no sense at all.
Thank god this didn’t make the final cut, otherwise Toula Portokalos never would’ve had her happy ending lol
Do you use Windex to wipe your phone screen?🤣🤣🤣
The phone call lasted too long
I like the original ending better. Rupert Everett is so good as George, and quite the scene stealer.
"And the movie ends with a gospel choir dancing.. In the KITCHEN" - who thought this was a good idea.
There's a stigma that reshoots ruin a film, but these reshoots saved the film. Also, was this on one of the VHS copies or something? I have been looking for this for the longest time - thanks for uploading it!
😂😂😂😂😂
Right. Cringeworthy!
This ending has a lot of people of colour playing wait staff considering how white the cast is. Very cringe worthy.
Shut your fuckin mouth bitch 😂😂😂😂
pretend amnesia what are you laughing about... bitch?
Then you have to remember it was the 90’s. Hollywood was completely different than it is now 🤷🏻♀️
Wait that is realistic people of color are the staff!!!
Agreed! Thank you!
Can we acknowledge this Andy guy is the AIDAN we get to love from Sex and the city?
I love the ending of this movie . George is so funny.. also says she doesn't need a man she has george always.. that would never have worked
Interesting ending! Have to agree with the comments that the interaction between Julianne and Andy [New Guy] seems forced.
Besides it was the ending where she dances with George that gave me the warm + bittersweet feelings
I like this ending because it's still a potentially happy ending with the possibility of love for her. You never know where or when you may find love.
Yes, this would have been a better ending in my opinion. U can hear the young man's AWESOME VOICE MUCH CLEANER & CLEARER. Before looking at this ending. I'd already made up in my mind that after looking at the main ending. Nothing was going to top it. I WAS WRONG. This ending would have been better. Just my opinion.
The real end is one of the best in comedy. Gosh 🤤 whstis tjis? 🤢
Rupert any day!
This is THE ORIGINAL ending. Then they changed it. The director talks about this in an interview.
Very intriguing ending, but the original ending where Juliana dances with George is way better. It’s more uplifting and fun !
Nah. Puts me in mind of the ending of a school musical. Like the one we got instead. :)
I think if I didn’t know the real ending I would like this one too. But I love the original ending so much more because that is what I have repeatedly seen for so long,
Im glad everyone agrees that the film ending is way better than this alternate ending. The film ending is just amazing and one of the best ending scenes ever! It shows that sometimes all you need is love and support from your friend. It doesnt always have to be a romantic love
The disgusting evidence of betraying a character and insulting an audience…. & that the *real story won* is a story in itself.
Writer Ron Bass says that when he finished his screenplay he *knew* he had a hit - different and *perfect.*
But somebody with clout decided that audiences can only handle HAPPYENDINGS.
Before the first shoot, they had it rewritten in Chicago without telling him.
So Ron Bass is at the FIRST PREVIEW when he finds out what had happened to his perfectly different story.
Turned out to be perfect justice, because *he was right there* when the first Preview *Audience went totally DEAD* from the moment they realized that both they and our heroine were being treated like idiots. Yay.
I, with the other people who watches this film sooo many times, prefer the original ending. I don't get the feeling same as the original, and this is being forced, like Julia has get a new man to replace Michael. Thank God George came to the ball for Jules, and what I get from the ending is the genuine expression from Julia : a beautiful smile that we want everytime we saw her.
En definitiva el final elegido, fue mucho mejor q este, aún cuando en este planteen q ella no se queda sola.
after 20 years? and i watch it just today?
Menos mal q usaron otro final!!!este es feo😱Estuvieron cerca d arruinar un film q les salio redondo.😊
What a horribly contrived ending
Es en serio ? Jajaajaj igual creo que fue hermoso como término . Al final la vida siempre continua
What??? Nooooope!!!!!
First of all you can't hear that conversation she has with the guy when she goes back into the tent. I mean Jules is only the main character don't worry...
I do love the actual ending and George's mix of gentle comedy and sympathy for his friend!!
But I think my biggest gripe is this: Name me the most genius scene in a movie ever? It exists of a restaurant, a giant red lobster and a family, nay an entire restaurant joining in with Say A Little Prayer!!! Now why would they feel the need to replicate that magic with a buncha unknowns at the end of the movie???
The actual ending is waaaaaaaaay better than this!!!
This was a terrible ending lol so glad they changed it
I like it… But I don’t love it. Much prefer the one they implemented instead.
THE CRAPPIEST ENDING I'VE EVER SEEN HOW LAME AND FAKE!!!!!!
glad this wasnt the ending
Both endings are great! Thank you for share us! One of best films ever ♡♡♡ Cinderella/Jane Bond should dance again...
No way...thank God they changed the end cause it's a masterpiece😍
What I think is super interesting about this ending is that Sarah Jessica Parker was considered for the role of Jules. So if she had gotten the part and this dude would’ve ended with her, it would’ve been an ending in which Carrie and Aidan end up together.
This is terrible! No wonder the preview audience in Phoenix hated it.
I like both "endings"
I feel like if we met the character of Andy earlier in the movie and seen how his and Julianne's relationship was this ending might have been better or have a flash forward where they meet again later on and then start a relationship I might have liked this better. Glad they went with the other ending
Horrible ending.. love the actual movie ending
All those people that never made it to the final movie... Is that Aidan from SATC? I like both endings. But this one feels more emotional IMO.
i agree with the focus group, this ending is garbage
I know the original ending is better, but... hey Aidan ❤️
I love this ending too!!!!
This would have been horrible and not at all iconic. Thank god for pre-viewers!
Um, I see a very white wedding suddenly turning into a scene of a lot of The Help singing...
Omgd I loved this movie growing up and when I realized it was aiden from sex and the city I literally squealed he is so handsome I love him so much
Hmm...prefer the other ending but this isn't that bad
4:10
Oh. This is terrible.
i wish they released the solo version of this song
mejor fue el otro final
si
John Corbett always on the rescue of the bitter spinster
This is really BAD. I'm so glad they haven't chosen this version. Ughhhhhhh.
Obviously, I enjoyed the OG ending. It was what I saw and what I know, but--this one wasn't bad. Would I love the movie *as* much with this one...? The world may never know.
Me gusta más el que quedo en la.peli.
I really enjoyed the all the Chefs singing along at the end, but ending for the Jules character was right in the movie.
Fun sequence but makes for an unsuitable ending. And John Corbett is such a bland, forgettable face and presence to be a good replacement for Michael (actually wasn't very keen on that character either). Rupert Everett (looking quite handsome here) as the witty and charismatic George simply sweeps John Corbett away into oblivion. No competition!
But I feel bad for all those actors and actresses - especially the cooks etc. In the kitchen who got to dance and "sing" (well mime anyway) - who got cut from the film. They only had tiny roles but it was in the final few minutes so they had a chance to grab the audience's attention and shine a little. It's nice that people got to see these scenes and the efforts of these cast members.
Wt*... where did you get this from?
London .CHANEL I held the director at gunpoint and made him give me this video
christhegeek517
I seeh .. 👌
christhegeek517 😂😂 thanks thought
Interesting how the guy she was originally going to meet was John Corbet from My Big Fat Greek Wedding. If they were prescient they should have had her say, "Sorry, I'm not Greek."
Gracias a mi equipo espiritual
Thank God they didn't use this! It is awful. It woulda broke the whole movie. You realize how much Rupert Everett just lit it up!
awful!!!!!!!!!!! awful!!!!!!!!!!!
