Cameron's character in this movie is so nice and ahead of her time, trying her best to befriend her fiance's best girl friend, like, i dont know if thats a cultural thing, but where i live some crazy straight people still think is like illegal to have friends of the opposite sex if you're in a relationship. Also Julia Robert's character is a rotten human being, id be like "sure, bring me back to the wedding, but then you stay outside and never come close to me ever again or im getting a restraining order against your crazy ass"

People don’t like their partners having friends of the same sex you’re attracted to. I understand it, like you saw in this film, you get people irl like Julia Roberts character, only instead of the man basically saying no he’ll go ahead with it. Not all men, women etc but if your S O has a friendship with the same sex they’re attracted to it does increase the odds of someone cheating doesn’t it? I’d be suspicious of my boyfriend (I’m gay) having another male friend and if my boyfriend was bi I’d be nervous of him having both male and female friends. Is it healthy? No. Is it a bit psycho? Yes. But this is how people’s brains work and the struggle that people have with trust, loyalty, cheating and paranoia.

I think this movie is the only thing I've actually watched that was ever reviewed on this show. And I'm so glad I watched it as a kid cause now I think it's toxic as hell. But on a more positive note, I'm in love with Trixie's knee high socks with those white heels 😭

Watching this movie again as an adult I'm like, OH, Julia Roberts played the villain in this! I didn't even get that when I was younger. She's pure evil in this but get's redeemed in the end.

The director of this film said he loved the idea of having the most attractive, intelligent, intriguing, and likeable character in the film be gay (and unattainable). And of course, he wanted the narrative and ending to defy our romcom expectations. This is my favorite romcom of all time!
