Your story resonates with me a lot! I buy and sell audio gear (also in canada) but moreso as a hobby. Just 2 months ago I ended up getting a barn find pair of Altec Lansing model 19s for $100. Cabinets need to be refinished but drivers work flawlessly. Super excited to fix them up. Replacing a pair of Forte IIs I also got super cheap :))
@@Network-o7c amazing! The Alec 19's are absolutely stunning speakers ! Congratulations 🎉 if you need spare parts for anything feel free to reach out I can get most stuff through my friend. Thanks for the comment
both speakersv and AKai system were very high-end i have some almost the same 800´s from B&W also incredible sounding allthough my father was filled with money and he bought the best released in the 70´s and early 80´s ,now all is mine so i don´t need nothing ´till i´m off this world
Yamaha, as the most complete control amplifier i ever seen and all works today being maybe from earlyn 70´s the C1, one can level all sources to the same output volume and sound controls as so many that i ain´t seen any so complete ´till today and sounds amazing good with it´s power amplifier
I swore-off Asian HiFi components, they all share the same parts, & all sound the same. Clean sound but no real clarity. Try those 801’s with a vintage Threshold amp & preamp. You’ll hear the major improvements & never go back. You’ll likely sell-off all that gear, & get into selling real audiophile components.
I hope to score some Mac gear one day just waiting for that crazy deal to come up or classe, krell, sonic frontier and so on but I'll keep the Threshold in mind. Thanks for the advice. Hope you enjoyed the video.
@@daytonszalay1993, North Creek Xover's(original four-box or subsequent revision to two) Krell EQ box(best), Anodyne(next best), JPS Golden Flutes. There are some vibration plates that attached to the rear of the cabinet that were nice.

The stock Xover's were garbage and cheap along with the binding posts and EQ box. It'll take some bucks to get them to world-class.
I enjoy them as is but if I ever wanted to upgrade them I have the budget room since I got them for free
