An enjoyable vid Andy, thanks. Mines a Avus silver 225 with a Aniseed yellow interior, I wanted a glacier blue car but could not find one relatively rust free. Having seen a few now over the years, I now like Misano red! If people want a Mk1 TT, now is about as good as it gets for prices and parts availability. Mines my daily driver, but I am thinking of getting a van as well to keep the usage of my TT down and to allow me time to do bigger refurbishment jobs. My mate is a mechanic and he really likes them, tough cars, but they are not a cheap car to run with costs an time

Picked up a Audi TT convertible roadster for 1700 full service history , 135000 on the clock , got a few issues but looking to keep the car so a project , Great presentation, and informative 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Steve. Thanks for your kind words sir! What issues do you have with it? Being a fellow soft top owner I am always interested to hear of other people's gremlins! Let me know! Andy
Hi Andy got a issues with the soft top not going up or down worked fine then just stop working , Oil light comes on intermittent, had the car serviced so oil Level is spot on , And Fuel gauge does not read or come on then drops to the red , I have had the pod taken out and the guy I use said the pod has had work done on it by a company but he saying they may have mess it up ? Which would make sense had the pod lights flicker on the speedo and rev counter, Any way still enjoying driving the car , just going to have to spend a bit ,
Good video Andy. I purchased a 150 TT roadster for £1600 two years ago. Off the road at the moment as it needs new rear callipers and pads , and I think it needs its drainage channels unblocked also. On the plus side it had a major service and new timing belt/ waterpump. I love it.
Thanks for the feedback John. I do need to update this one as prices have changed a crazy amount in 6 months! Thanks for your support on the channel and let me know if I can help at all get you back on the road! 👍
Very informative vid Andy. Have to agree with you on colour choice, Auto Union Cars of the 30's like the silver arrow were obviously Silver...So for me it couldn't be any other colour for my V6 Coupe. Mine is a manual and seemingly quite rare, I've seen but can't varify that one dealer stated, that of about 1 year ago there were only around 367 Manual Mk1 V6's left in UK. There are never many up for sale at anyone time, and silver ones aren't that common, so it took me ages to get the right one, and it was at least 9 months before I saw another one for sale. 225's seem to be the most modded model as well as being available in greater numbers. I'm keeping mine as close to OEM as I can for the duration.
Thanks sir! Yes I found it very difficult to find any non DSG V6 cars on the market so yours would be quite rare! These cars are just at that tipping point (I think) where they are start becoming rarer. I remember the performance Escorts and Fiestas going through this a few years back. Within a few years they become extremely expensive! Keep her standard and on the road mate! 👍
@@andycharger I certainly intend to! Yes I think you are right, at some point soon their value should rise for vehicles in a standard state although the big cloud on the horizon would be what happens to petrol as a fuel in the coming years, but i can't see anything changing there for decades. As for cars from the 80's etc...very rare now even though there were millions of them at one point prices for them now are bonkers, but they represent the last of their kind. I look forward to the next vid...Simon
Hi Andy, thanks for the video. I’ve got a 03’ black 225 that I bought last year, only done 52k with a great service history. We really wanted a QS but similar mileage was 2-3x the price for the one we got. It’s our second car so looking to keep the miles low (we only did 1200 last year 😂). So far I’ve had the cambelt and w.pump done with a full service. It had already been done at 40k but that was getting on for 8 years ago so needed doing. I’ve literally just got it back from a wheel refurb for all wheels and callipers (painted red). I’d considered it for a while but so glad I’ve had it done, they look stunning. Next job will be getting the screen pixels sorted so I’ll be following your instructions on that. Thanks for the content 👍🏻
Thanks for your comment and kind words about the content! That is the thing with these cars. We love driving them but also want to preserve them! It sounds like you have made some good decisions on jobs to carry out. I too would love a TTQS but the price is just a bit too steep to justify. The thing is, it’s only going to go higher! Thanks for your support on the channel 👍
Great video Andy! I'm sure this will be very informative for anyone in the market or someone looking to sell 👍 Only part I disagree with is your comments on colour options... Having spent 6 months searching the market EVERY day for a MK1 V6 and FINALLY pulling the trigger in July... black, blue, red and silver were by far the most common appearing for sale! Rarest colours were Green, White and of course, Papaya Orange. I got incredibly lucky and managed to pickup a V6 Manual in 'Cambridge Green Pearl' which must be as rare as hen's teeth! Wish there was a way to find out how many were produced in each colour, manual/dsg etc. Keep up the great content 😊
Thanks for your comments Ryan and I’m glad you like the channel content! The colours seem to vary across model a fair bit. The majority of the 3.2 cars I found were the blue/silver colour. The 225 and the soft tops seem to be mainly silver! I guess it varies from time to time. I still stand by my preference for the silver!😀😀😀 how are you finding the car? Well done on finding a manual one! Drop me an email if you fancy featuring it in the channel at some point mate!
@@andycharger no worries Andy! Yes, agree the colours vary across the models for sure. Audi offered an incredible number of options back in the day. Believe over 50 different colours were available on the MK1 TT's... can't say you'd get that much choice nowadays! Silver definitely is THE colour TT's were renowned for though 😊 Car is incredible thanks mate! Don't think I'll ever get bored of that V6 sound... she does need some work doing though. Alloys need a refurb (might just buy new), bit of rattle from the exhaust so have a Scorpion system on order and want to get the exterior/interior detailed to bring her back to her best. She's a real head turner! Would be more than happy to appear on the channel once all the works finished 😊👍
Good facts on this video Andy. Bottom line i owned my TT over 4 years, lots of £££ spend and recently I've replaced my rear bumper also replacing rear brake pads and disc and hopefully will last me for good years , therefor i couldn't see my self driving another car to be honest.
Cheers Ben. I put a lot of effort into the research so I got as true a picture as possible in today's market. They sure are great driving cars. I saw a lovely blue soft top in the garage in Staplehurst last night while I was in my Mondeo. You cant really go over and chat about TTs when you are driving your "other" car! lol
Excellent video. Maintaining a TT is not for the faint of heart or a thin wallet. You’ve convinced me to move on from this car even tho I love the looks. I’ll look for a 350z or even better a 370z instead. Perhaps a little more money upfront for the car but much less maintenance.
trying to pick up an mk1 in S.Korea and prices seems very unfriendly here, minimal asking prices is roughly over 4500 euros for cars with about 230,000 kilometers. Hopefully I can find a snatch for these great cars

Nice one Andy I agree with everything you said. Spares are definitely going up in price with so many being broken. I have a stage 1 tune, the best mod I have done. Driving sensibly I get another 3 mpg but the power is there if I need it. It has done 170k and uses no oil between services.
Thanks for the reply as always Al! That is good to hear about the stage 1 tune. What was involved in it? Just the remap? 170k with no oil use sounds like that is a well maintained engine to me. Great work and happy motoring!
Yea, it was just the software upgrade. All done whilst driving on the road, the chap sat with his laptop..he's very clever, main dealers go to him when they are stuck on a job. Stage 2 involves more hardware and so the cost starts climbing. I also have fitted a set of 4 pot Porsche 986 breaks. I'll send u a pic if I can figure out how to :))

3.2s are great cars. I love mine when it’s working right! On a 2008, your car will be a mk2 car as the started making the mk2 from 2007. Good video and useful, I’ve just put down a deposit on a 225 roadster as I had one when they first came out but couldn’t keep it long and always missed it. Was very tempted by the QS 240 but didn’t want to invest that much on a weekend car and also wanted the roadster even though I think the coupe looks better. Paid just under 5k so top of budget but it has good mileage, great and owned by one family so hopefully will turn out to be a good car Thanks for the video. Hi Andy, Bought my 2003 mk1 V6 3.2 in May last year (Glacier Blue with blue leather seats!). I've done a lot of stuff (suspension front and rear, disc brakes, etc) with the view to keeping it OEM. I've read that the 3.2 can suffer from a stretched timing chain after a lot of miles, so that is something to keep in mind. Also I've just noticed on mime the there is a slight leek from the steering rack which will be my next (easy!) job. How's your steering rack? Great research on your part as to the model prices, keep up the good work.
Hi Colin. Thanks for your comments! I put a fair amount of research into this one. Sounds like you have been busy. That is a bit of a coincidence as I thought the steering was feeling a little heavy yesterday and figured I may investigate that. Would you be interested in dropping me an email about your car?
