    Great video as always, Andy. I like how you explain and show how to do things very detailed and clearly, so it leaves no room for confusion. 🕶

    Only one weight mate. Harmonic ballast. Don’t ask me what it’s for. Great vid

      Harmonic = balancing weight distribution front to back across the wheels. At VERY high speeds a resonant frequency bounce initiates on uneven road, lifting tyres from road contact, higher risk in wet weather. Weight same side as lighter gearbox upfront, tech update following high speed mortalities on German Autobahns after cars first sales with ESP, spoiler, suspension. People remove who dont travel that fast lol Audi design engineers are no fools

    Andy thanks to you I’ve just removed my rear bumper. It’s a standard 1.8 225 Bam. It too only has the weight on the passenger side 😮

    • @andycharger
      @andycharger  Год назад

      That’s quite normal Paula. It’s a harmonic counter weight. All good just on one side 👍

    is there a replacement bracket to hold the license plate on the inside of the bumper bracket? I have a US Spec and the retention nuts seized to the screws and are mostly spinning freely (with my old plate trapped in place).

    Nicely done sir, I think that weight is some sort of acoustic/sonic baffle??? Bryn mentions it in one of his vids. Can't remember what he said. he normally removes them as they weigh a lot....keeping mine on😉 Great explaination of how to remove those bits Andy. its so easy to snap stuff, this helps a lot.

      Thanks Si. Yes I too will be keeping mine in place, although I will be tightening it up so stop any rattles. Find of counterintuitive to have a rattly Harmonic Weight on the car!

    Remove the harmonic weight
    It serves no purpose at all.

    • @andycharger
      @andycharger  2 года назад

      I could but then I would not be keeping my promise to myself of keeping it totally stock. It came with the weight so it has to keep the weight. Its only about 15KG anyhow so only like a couple of bags of shopping. Its not going to really be affecting the 0-60 much!
