    Im gonna be working on my 06 charger. Hope its just the head gaskets. But could be full rebuild

      Well hopefully it is just a head gasket. I would suggest a leak down test and compression test before dismantling anything. More information the better. Good luck!

    How serious is it if something like a pebble fell into the oil entryway of this type of engine, I hear a clink up against the top manifold but doesn’t bounce around it’s just on cold start. As if it doesn’t travel anywhere and it just stays in the top

      Not great. Could be fine or might be a matter of time before a spring, valve, cam lobe gets damaged. I can't recall if it's an interference engine but if it is, personally I'd definitely want it out. It's not too difficult to pull the valve covers. Might be worth getting it out for peace of mind.

      Ok so on the crank there is a little nipple on it that sticks out but the oil pump has to go over it. Do you have to remove that nipple or the oil pump gasket will slide over it without an issue?

      @@vsg_stangsquad7207 If you could go to my Instagram and send a picture, that would be helpful. I don't recall any sort of nipple. Also is this a V6 or V8?

    were the cylinder heads already put together or did you have to assemble it yourself?

    • @bakerRebuilds
      @bakerRebuilds  6 месяцев назад

      For the v6, we just reused them as they were. Knowing what I know now I think it's well worth it to have a shop check for bent valves, weak springs and replace all the valve stem seals. Our v8 we had the heads gone through and it had two bent valves with about 170k miles. Bad intake valve stem seals can lead to burning oil so especially with higher mileage I'd have them gone over.
