  • Have you ever wondered why smart people play dumb?
It's because smart people know how to avoid being too smart for your own good.
Intelligence is great. But arrogance is not.
Intelligence without social skills creates more enemies than needed. Harmless messages have the capability of coming off as harmful to the smaller mind.
You ever heard the phrase 'you are too smart for your own good' ?
This phrase means that you are annoying.
It's just a polite way of saying it.
Being smart and playing dumb is not about acting like a clown.
On the contrary, it means to keep the message content & to adjust the delivery.
The process of adjusting the delivery at will is what creates a social superstar.
What's the gold standard for simplifying the delivery?
    BY SIMPLIFYING.
A large part of smart people who play dumb comes down to the art of simplifying their message. It's so simple that even a dumb person should be able to understand it.
Another reason a smart person plays dumb is for selfish reasons.
Smart people say 'I don't know' often.
And saying 'I don't know' allows the smart person to remain open-minded for life.
A cheat code for an abundance of creativity.
So the 2 benefits of a smart person playing dumb comes to:
    1. Simplifying message to build social bonds.
    2. To be an eternal student of the game.
The pride & ego hates the word 'dumb.'
But understand it for its true meaning in context to the phrase to have a paradigm shift.
This change in paradigm will pay dividends into the future.

being smart is tiring because you have to deal with stupid people...the problem is you will run out of energy explaining it to them... It's more relaxing being dumb, but damn...sometimes, you can't help but try to get people back on track and not make a mistake.... we are on separate avenue, but it's another aspect of playing dumb.

If I was told that being smart wasn't all that great (long ago), I wouldn't be smart at all. As an adult, I hate it so much. I attract all the wrong people, overthink things, worry too much, and the list goes on. When it comes to knowledge, it's use or lose it. One of my former hobbies is reading (textbook collection, old notes, lab books). I haven't done that since 2019 (before COVID). Every once in a good while, I do. As a kid, I was tricked into making the Honor Roll, and thinking it was cool. So, I have no choice, but to find ways to dumb myself down.

I have learned that it is best to match your level of speech to your audience. If you "talk dumb" they will think you are an idiot. And if you "speak in an esoteric fashion" they will think you are an asshole.

I think one aspect of being 'smart' is introversion or coming across like you take in information rather than constantly chomping at the bit to offer information. I don't think it necessarily makes you smart to have this trait but it has a similar effect, especially in group contexts. Most people just want you to be contributing to the energy and fun of the dynamic, rather than soberly taking in information and remembering things about people when they are acting relaxed, goofy, and social (and therefore 'judging them'). It's different one-on-one, but keep in mind anyone who has agreed to such a circumstance with you has already invested in a deeper dynamic with you.

Do it with my older brother. At first, I'd tell him: "dude, you already told me 2 days ago..." Got tired of pointing it out. Now, I let him speak and I just turn my brain off.

Playing dumb definitely benefits you. The more that you show you're SMART , the more they expect especially employers The less you show it , the less they expect. So , base it off your wage. Don't think that if you're smart and show it you'll get a raise. It use to work that way , not any more.

Most of the 😂 people don't know if they are dumb or smart
What i can confidently say is that
Very least of you are smart
And most of the dumb people thanking they are smart now trying to act dumb
But they don't need to because they already are
And now let's talk about me
I don't know what it means to be smart
But i play dumb so people don't expect something from me specially my parents
They will burden me with responsibility that i don't want to take like cracking some elite examination
Also another reason so people don't get jealous

I play dumb because it creates a much more fun environment and interaction. Theres laughs and smiles etc. Kinda like the dumb character in every tv show. Their stupidity and dumb comments are whats funny. There is no ‘funny’ in being a dry, smart, know it all. But there are times to be an intelligent individual. Learning when and when not to be is what I think most of my smart individuals should work on.
But what I don’t want to do, is let people know how smart I truly am. Because then the dumb act becomes transparent, and obvious of just being an act.
