    Nice descriptive review. That said, is it just me who finds it a bit frustrating to see a review about a synth bundle without hearing even one note? Sure, I can check out the demos on the website but it just seems natural to me to expect to hear a synth that is being reviewed.

    I've just watched three of the reviews/tutorials on your channel (Syntronik/Spark 2/Zebra 2) and there isn't a sound example in any of them, just endless talking. You obviously have a good idea of whatever you're describing and articulate it well, but please balance this up with some sound examples. It's kinda redundant otherwise.

      As I say in each of the videos, I find it difficult to try and do sound demos for plugins like these. Syntronik has somewhere in the neighborhood of 5000 presets across 20 different engines. Demoing any of them would take hours and hours. Any time in the past when I've tried, people comment asking why I didn't demo whatever specific sound they wanted to hear, so I decided a while ago to just focus on discussing features, workflow and my opinion of the plugin. It's easier, shorter, and I feel more useful. Thanks for watching though.

      You can always demo and try them yourself. IK is good for that

  • @johnbach2380

    I dont agree with the sound comparison. Ik uses a sample based method vs arturias modeling. I find just messing between the obxa arturia vs syntronik... the syntronik sounds more analogy. Sample based engines will have that advantage. Drawback is when you begin to do extreme modulations of course. But yeah i regrer buying the obxa from arturia as well as analog lab. The ik stuff sounds better. Heck the u he stuff sound better to me. Diva and repro. Not that arturia sounds bad. It iust isnt as "analog" to me as the others ive mentioned. I love pigments.

      @@lownrgy How do you feel about this v UVI's synths? As I understand it there's not much tweaking you can do to UVIs.

    • @johnbach2380
      @johnbach2380 3 года назад +1

      @@MysteronLunaris UVI is the same. Although it feels to me the sounds or at least the presets are super polished and compressed to be huge from the get go. Great to just get the run of the mill ready to go 80s sounds quick and UVI sounds great.
      Recently, the Jup V4 has impressed me from arturia though... that thing sounds better than v3. I hear their Juno reproduction is way better as well. It seems like they're getting better with their emulations.

    • @MysteronLunaris
      @MysteronLunaris 3 года назад

      @@johnbach2380 I do like Arturia's synths quite a bit. I use their Solina all the time in particular. The reason I'm asking all this is because UVI has a couple of sales going on and I'm trying to figure out if I should try one (unfortunately I don't think I can demo). I'm preferential to Oberheims (and in particular the Matrix 12). I like Arturia's ... but it just doesn't sound *accurate* to me no matter what I do to tweak and process it. If only I could buy a real one!

    I got V collection and just bought Syntronik. My first problem is I can't play the keyboard. Got some catching up to do. To much to do in to little time. Bought syntronik cause the deal looked good. As was for V-collection. My guitar skills are better. Thanks for the review.

      Having too many choices is not a good thing in my experience.
      I sold my Arturia V Collection when I bought UVI Vintage Vault because UVI VV frankly gives me more choices than I would ever need (and I like the sound better than Arturia). I've even uninstalled a bunch of synths because I want to limit my selection even further.

    It’s not graphically inauthentic with remapped controls, as you say, it’s a sample library. There aren’t going to be the same controls, because it’s sampled. I did not hear you mention the modeled analog drift, or that there are brand-specific filter types you can mix/match within any of the instruments. Did you play any of the multis? There’s a ton of animated layers and splits in there. That’s where the inspiring stuff is. Many of the included instruments are not offered by Arturia or UVI so not a competitor for those.

    Hi @consordini, have you tried using ' automations' with IK synths before? I like the sound of syntronic but do not use it because I cannot use automations when using it in my DAW.

    • @consordini6258
      @consordini6258  4 года назад

      In theory, it should be able to be automated just fine, but I haven't messed around with it much, personally. It would be a big issue for a lot of people if they couldn't automate things within the plugin.

    Hello. Great info. I do have a question I am considering The Arturia V collection but I’m also interested in IKmultimedia Syntronic bundle. It seems to me that the V collection is possibly newer and from what you’ve been saying sounds much better than the Syntronic collection. Pricing is about the same Arturia is having a special until 9 June. I am looking for something that has a great 70s and 80s sound that I can use in my performance. I would love your thoughts. Thank you

    • @consordini6258
      @consordini6258  4 года назад

      V Collection all the way. I like the synths that it comes with more, especially for 70's stuff. Syntronik seems to be focused on later 80s and early 90s synths. V Collection also just sounds better to my ears, and the layouts are more authentic. Plus you get each synth as its own plugin as well as Analog Lab, as opposed to Syntronik just being a single plugin.
