In this video, we will install:
1. The backend for the database. Here, I will use Oracle SQL 21c Express, as it is free. You will need a 64-bit computer for this, but most modern computers are 64-bit.
2. The front that you can use. Here, I will install Oracle SQL Developer - again, for free.
3. Then we need to connect them together.

try entering ... orcl in sid option
@@AnilKumar-mp9hk that makes no difference. I've tried everything possible. I've given up on trying to set up oracle/sql developer. Only a fresh install works. oracle and will stick with tsql or msql

Hi @printassia, I had same issue. Turned out to be some kind of network issue as the oracle database on my machine is either not listening on the localhost addesses and/or blocking access to that. As workaround I put in my machine's IP address and was able to connect without any issue.
@@fkwvdpol This also worked for me - putting in my IP in place of localhost.
After update 21.0 then get Data convert issue unicode to non unicode in SSIS package from oracle source (OLEDB) to SQL Server , I check NLS_LANG = AMERICAN_AMERICA.AL32UTF8, or need to change other values ?

Hello Sir, I have a doubt. I already had previous version (which I don't remember) already Installed. So I made some change in registry then only it let me download this version. But it got partially installed and not successfully installed. Will it generate any error in future?

CONNECTION ERROR SOLUTION!!!
1. go to services - make sure that OracleTNSListener and that OracleServiceXE are both running. if not "Start" both of them.
2. if that doesn't fix it go to cmd and type in LSNRCTL status a bunch of info pops up go down to Listening Endpoints Summary...
here you will find your
HOST:
PORT:
SERVICE:
in SQL developer my "Hostname" ended up being an IP address the port was still 1521 and as far as service my system worked with both xe as SID and xepdb1 as Service name.
So most likely problem/fix is finding the correct host/hostname.
Hope this helps someone save the few hours it took me!

In the tutorial he has fill the Service name box. I left it blank yet The problem is solved. So you do not need to fill the service name

Hi, i followed all the process as mentioned in the video..able to login after completing installation ..
but next day when i logging in it gives an error:

When i searched in internet with that error, to start all oracle services. i checked this too by opening "services.msc" all the ORACLE services by default running .. still getting the error as mentioned..
