    Fletcher Cox retiring isn't really getting discussed enough. He obviously slowed down in his last couple years, but he was a steady force for our line that played a lot of snaps. Fletch is on the Eagles' Mount Rushmore of D-linemen, and I'm going to miss seeing big 91 on Sundays.
    Hope the conditioning is paying off for our DTs because there are a lot more snaps to go around this year.

      I really appreciate that Fletch was here the last few years, that expertise and experience went a really long way with Milton, Davis and Carter! Miss him already

      Fletch was definitely underrated for the past few years (many fans seemed to want to kick him out of the door). Consistent and was hardly ever hurt. He was a foundational part of the best era of Eagles football and he'll definitely be missed. I think it's a good time for these new guys to step up though, Milton heading into year 4, JD into year 3, time to see what they've got in bigger roles.

      I'm an ex Dt I would have loved to play for Hurt. I took notice of the way he had Akeem Hicks and company playing when he was coaching in Chicago a few years ago. He's always got his DT's playing well! So I AGREE!!

    Milton is an athletic beast. It will be nice to see him as a DE in Fangio's 3-4. I wonder if Moro Ojomo is going to rotate with him or push him.

    Appreciate the knowledge!!! He really makes me think Gabe Hall is going to make this team

  • @kevo1441
    @kevo1441 6 месяцев назад

    He’s got a fast get off..plays with effort, undersized so he gets beat at time when linemen get their hands on him, but he’s quick to shed blocks and get after the ball carrier or QB. He just has to be more consistent but he’s got a knack for being around the ball.

    • @PhillyFilmRoom
      @PhillyFilmRoom  6 месяцев назад +1

      100%. He was also primarily a DE coming out of college so getting the timing down playing inside takes some adjustment too. Hopefully another season inside will help his consistency in his pass rush.

      @@PhillyFilmRoom he’s been a solid addition to our defensive line rotation. Hopefully he takes his game up a notch this upcoming season as he will be getting a ton of snaps. Great video breakdown on one of my favorite players.

    When did he become a “fan favorite” I mean I like him but he was the 4th favorite DT last year now he’ll be the 3rd

    • @SleeplessKnight122
      @SleeplessKnight122 6 месяцев назад +1

      It's a thing. People were really enamored with his combine measurables and fantasize about his potential.
      He's a productive rotational player, that's about it.

    • @PhillyFilmRoom
      @PhillyFilmRoom  6 месяцев назад +1

      I would say he's definitely the 2nd favorite DT in the room right now. People have been on the Milton train since day 1 based on his testing numbers, a lot of Aaron Donald comps got thrown around. JD gets a ton of hate, which in large part is due to where he was drafted. Milton has been a good run defender and bad pass rusher, but he doesn't get any of the heat JD is getting for not developing as a pass rusher to this point. He's also one of the most mentioned players when you look at people saying who will be the breakout player this year.

      @@PhillyFilmRoomMilton pass rushing hasn’t been bad his entire career. They used him so many years as a contained rusher meaning he’s not used to attack.

    I think this is one of the best analytical youtube channels for eagles fans (up there with breaking the birds that went mia during the decline last year), but its an uncharacteristic lazy analysis to state if he was better the DC would have used him more.
    The 2 DC last year were the two worst DC the eagles have had in the last 40 years. There is no reason to trust the analysis of talent when they couldn’t even get their Xs and Os right.
    Milton may not be a top tier talent but relying on the opinions of Desai and Patricia, who will likely never again be DC in the league because of how poorly they did at their job, is ludicrous

    • @EaglesXsandOs
      @EaglesXsandOs 6 месяцев назад

      Appreciate your support! Perhaps you disagree with the sentiment, but that doesn’t mean it was a lazy take. It’s plausible to suggest that if Williams impressed on the pass rush snaps he did have, he could’ve earned more 3rd down snaps

    • @suzannedaily5455
      @suzannedaily5455 6 месяцев назад +3

      It wasn't an uncharacteristically lazy analysis. None of us do the kind of research he does. It was well thought out.

    • @PhillyFilmRoom
      @PhillyFilmRoom  6 месяцев назад

      I don't disagree with you that the coaches were incompetent (even brought it up when making this statement on the full pod we just dropped). It wasn't the main crux of my argument though, just additional context to the situation. Regardless, were they wrong not to play him more on 3rd down? He didn't show much in his reps last season or the season before. He's always been primarily a 1st & 2nd down player and even on those downs, he hasn't been a good pass rusher comparatively.

    • @mikeminarich1159
      @mikeminarich1159 5 месяцев назад

      I agree! And those are great arguments! Those are a much better analysis than “if he was better then then the DCs would of used him more”.
      Keelee Ringo wasn’t used at all by Desai and i think did pretty well for himself last year compared to bradbury when who was used over him.

      @@PhillyFilmRoom Like you said though… if he’s not great at double teams or the huge weight thing & trying to do that is hindering all other aspects of your game…why continue to do it? Rather slim down & try to advance what you are good at. Keeping the motor high, get quicker… Its not like without the fat at full motor he cant push that pocket… He’ll always be massive. As far as the weight & someone whos been around massive people… you’d hardly notice 20lbs on a 345 lb man & that picture at the bike race looks transformative from his getting fined for being overweight days.
