    Our test driver, Jay, takes the Tesla Model 3 Highland out for a spin, to show some of the features in the latest software v12 (version 2024.14.9). The Spring Update is entertaining, to say the least!

    Thanks for the video. Really helpful. Question, do you know how to change the gear to neutral after the update? Thanks

    • @relativiTV
      @relativiTV  3 месяца назад

      To be honest, I've never had to use Neutral on the Tesla. I haven't seen N on the touchscreen either. However, regardless of the software version, can't you just press N on the roof-mounted shifter buttons?
      Thanks for the feedback, by the way!

    Just my opinion, if there is an option for it please forgive my ignorance…. I wish when you put it on drive the full visualization comes on with navigation on the top corner without you swiping it.

    • @relativiTV
      @relativiTV  3 месяца назад

      @Jhayster92, thanks for your comment.
      My experience so far has always been that when you put the car in Drive, the full-screen car visualisation immediately changes to the one-third car/three-third navigation format. In order to restore the full-screen car visualisation, you do have to swipe the navigation to the right.
      If you learn about a way to make the full-screen car visualisation stay on while shifting to Drive, please post here and let the others in the community know.

      @@relativiTV I travel for a living and was so excited that my Tesla app said “downloading software 2024.14.9”. When I finally got to my car I literally looked at every possible setting to see if there is an option. I’m afraid there is no option and like you said will revert back to the one third/three third screen unless you swipe. The great thing about software is that they can program that option, but I don’t see many people complaining about it - so probably won’t happen.

    • @relativiTV
      @relativiTV  3 месяца назад

      You're right. Tesla can easily program this in. Like you, I also would like to see full screen visualization all the time.

    Is there any real application in the driving? Otherwise showing all those details is just powder in the eyes to hide everything it doesn't see. Did they improved the perception of near obstacles which is awful?
    I see that automated head light is still really bad... it tuned ON with a car right in front of you very close and stopped at the street lights (but seems to not be on the car at least), and before when it was pretty dark and the car very fare, it was completely OFF. And the conditions were very good.
    The rule for head light is ( not ON in the cities, I guess it's the same where you live)

    • @relativiTV
      @relativiTV  3 месяца назад

      @YannR34, thank you for carefully watching my video and critiquing the features in this software update.
      You are right about the Adaptive High Beams. They were behaving rather inconsistently when I did that drive. In fact, I did mention that "sporadic on-off behaviour" in the video as well. Surprisingly, the lights used to work better before this update. I shall therefore do one more night-time drive in total darkness and post my findings here. And yes, high-beams should not be ON in cities or residential areas ... regardless of whether one has Adaptive headlamps or not. Tesla ought to use Maps to decide where to turn on high-beams and where not to.
      Regarding obstacle detection, I must say that I am very happy with Tesla Vision based ParkAssist. Without that feature, I would have scraped my wheels already.
      Regarding AutoSteer, you would have noticed in my video the anomaly when the car tried to centre itself on a two-lane road without a centreline .. but using the extreme road borders to centre itself. This feature has room to improve (a lot).

      @@relativiTV I have seen a video. The guy was testing his car in his garage, and it wasn't working at all. The car stop like 1 meter from the wall and the guy couldn't even close the garage door, the back was outside. The car was saying that it was like 10 or 15 cm. Then he forced and go further, and then the car wasn't seeing the wall anymore and telling him that he could still go when he stops at less than 2 cm almost touching the wall. It was useless.

    @relativiTV the strange thing is that suddenly after the update it switched from dutch to english. and i switched everything back to to dutch and to Kilometers, yet below the kilometers i see the miles also.. very irritating.

      @ezitobezito5251, thanks for reporting this. It's really strange ... this language change. Also the dual units. Would a reboot of the car (pressing and holding both left & right scroll wheels) help fix the issue?

      @ezitobezito5251 3 месяца назад

      @@relativiTV reboot did not fix that. I also notice that using the big font, the text do not fit in the "changed seat" save or ignore box... i just wonder.. this suppose to be the bug fix update yet.. i notice these smal fixes. they should let me test these updates.
      Also since a few updates, when playing music from USB, you can click on the song and it takes you to the usb folder that the song is in, but it does not select (or highlight) the song itself. i mean how hard is it to fix that?

    • @relativiTV
      @relativiTV  3 месяца назад

      @ezitobezito5251, sorry to hear that reboot did not fix that issue. Are you on 2024.14.9? That's the last version that I have tested ... and that does not have the font issue or the units/language issue. The music from USB is something I have never tried out, but could check and let you know soon.

    How do you shift to neutral??

    • @relativiTV
      @relativiTV  3 месяца назад

      To be honest, I've never had to shift to Neutral in my 6 months of ownership. It's been either D, R or P ... all possible with the touch-screen, as you know. However, if you need N, you could make use of the roof-mounted P--R-N-D buttons.
      But there might be another way, with the touch-screen itself.

      @@relativiTV thanks for the reply, I got my 2024 model 3 in March, somehow, mine doesn’t come with the roof-mounted gear shift buttons.. can only change gear on the touch screen..

    • @relativiTV
      @relativiTV  3 месяца назад

      Are you sure? When you look at the roof, don't you see the red emergency triangle button adjacent to the rear view mirror? The P--R-N-D buttons will be in the same cluster. Just try pressing the red triangle first, and the other buttons will light up.
