One Sunday night, Maci and her family were at church. Her dad wasn't with them, though, because he was a police officer who sometimes worked at night.
As she was at church, Maci found out heartbreaking news about her good friend Ryder. Ryder's dad had lung cancer, and Ryder was struggling with the reality that his dad might not be around much longer. Maci felt so badly for Ryder and his family, and she couldn't imagine what it would feel like to lose her own father.
After she got home from church, Maci decided to head to bed. However, she was woken up later that night to sounds coming from downstairs. She decided to get out of bed and find out what was going on, and she found her mom talking to a police officer at the front door. Her mom seemed to be really upset. Then, Maci heard people crying in the living room. When she went into the room, she saw her aunt and two sisters crying together. At that point, Maci knew something had to be terribly wrong.
Soon after, Maci found out why everyone in her house was so upset - her father had been shot. Maci was in complete disbelief. She thought to herself, "I never thought this would happen to my family." While she heard about police officers getting injured on the news, she never thought her dad would ever get hurt on the job.
Later that night, Maci and her family received positive news - her father was going to live, but he would have to have a major surgery at the hospital. At that point, Maci didn't know if her father would ever walk again, which was extremely scary for her.
Maci and her family began to pray, and they waited hours for an update. When the phone finally rang, they anxiously listened for some news. Thankfully, the doctors told them that Maci's dad was going to be okay and that he was extremely lucky. Maci was ecstatic when she heard the news.
Now, Maci's dad is back at work, and he's about to get a new dog. While it was an incredibly scary experience for Maci and her whole family, they all feel so lucky and grateful that Maci's father was okay.

Police Officers are some of the strongest people out there. They go through a lot and they see a lot of horrible sights. My grandpa was an officer and he died in the line of duty. I wish I could’ve met him :(

This hit a little close to home for me, both my parents were in the Marines and suffer from injuries that they got nearly 26 years ago, along with PTSD. I know my mom has anxiety in big crowds, but my dad hardly ever shows anything. Their both AMAZING people, and I wouldn’t change them for anything or anyone.

Thi Khong that’s not how I see it. A lot of people, even Christians and other religious individuals say certain things(they probably shouldn’t) and it don’t happen. I’ve even said myself, “I don’t need to study this test is too easy to fail.” and I never did. I think it depends on who the person is tho cause for someone else they can say the same thing and end up failing. But yeah, you should never think something can’t happen to you because anything can happen to someone, no matter who u are.

I love how storybooth stories are actually realistic. A lot of people go through the things that are talked about in these stories, while on other channels like my story animated, my animated story and other channels like that have absolutely mad stories, which make barely any sense. I lost my dad, last year on september.
He was on a break of his work on another state (he worked with trucks) and someone's truck fell on him because the truck broke.
He was rlly friendly and kind, he always gave me and my mom what we wanted and he always helped my grandparents when they needed and I loved being with him and listening to his jokes.

Thanks to all of you don't worry I have moved on but it was shocking you might call it weird but i never knew my mum was sick you may say that I'm lying but I swear I didn't know that my mum was sick until before she died I knew, they have told me that she was suffering from a disease and told me she would be ok but my father never told me she had cancer I guess he didn't want to cuz I was the closest to my mother but the day had came me and my brother while were waiting for our father to pick us up to go to the hospital to see our mum but he came up late, when he came he came straight up with bad news
I obv couldn't believe it at first I was in shock and speechless until I realised it after a minute or two I started crying but I didn't know what the hell was going on I didn't know if I should be happy, sad or angry I cried for a bit until my father forced me to stop crying because it will make her soul sad if she sees us crying
We went to the funeral and I saw my big half brother was crying too all of my siblings and family came from all countries just to come to the funeral my siblings came a bit late but they made it there it was a huge funeral.
I hated that day so bad, my aunties were trying to calm everyone by telling us she is In a better place and she told me that she was smiling when she died she couldn't see or speak before she died but she still could smile. before burying her they asked me and my brother if we want to see her face for the last time I couldn't I literally couldn't I was still a kid and scared of seeing my mum dead my brother denied too which we regretted after but days, months passed I didn't go to school until I was feeling ok. When I went to school everyone understand what was going on they didn't try to talk to me at first but they slowly tried to talk to me so I feel better months had passed I've moved on life is just life but there is a better place in the paradise
