I had just fled a bad marriage. I had enough to buy a sound system and one record. Jim Croce was that one record.. saved to play only in evening when kiddies were in bed. Still absolutely love this song and Jim
Jim and his music are frozen in time, so it comes as no surprise that it still affects me just as deeply each time I hear it. The purity of his music lies in stark contrast with what we have now, and it just compounds the loss.
Having recently lost my mom, as I listen to this song, I’m taken back in time to my early childhood, warm summer mornings, my mother, too self-conscious to sing more than a few words at a time, softly humming along, sidestepping every couple feet taking down the dry sheets, reversing course pinning the clothes up on the line in our backyard. I’ve never missed anyone more in all my life.

As palavras saem erradas,
As palavras saem erradas,
Time in a bottle and this song are immortal ...they never get old
Rest in peace your music lives on and I for one thank you so much for me growing up listening to your music I still listen to it today I'm 63 years old God have mercy on your soul
Jim died before his time ! Great musician !
Sometimes that's the only way I can deal with life...
One of my favorite Jim Croce's songs. Pure genius.
Like Buddy, this world wasn't meant for a full lifetime of your beauty.❤
His songs my God just brings me back to happier times. Truly timeless classics. Lots of great American movies used his songs. One of my favorite is The Last American Hero...♥️
He who dwells within the body is eternal and can never be slain. Gita
Oh ! Wonderful Song... Jim Croce (R.I.P)
Forever in My Heart 👈❤️👈
Always loved his beautiful voice!
✅
We saw his son in concert last night. He represents his father well.
I hope I didn't wake you...the words just came out wrong.....I know you'ld understand! I'd have to say I Love you!!!!🥰
His wife owns a restaurant in San Diego ...corces
I think Jim Croce was underrated. He had so many wonderful tunes.
Just leaving this comment here to update in 5 years.
A timeless classic. The genius of Jim Croce to put such poiniency into a relatively simple song. RIP Jim Croce.
"timeless" describes all of Jim Croce's tunes,,,,,people will be listening to these tunes a hundred years from now... 🙂
The music of the 70's were the best. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Still listening in 2022 ♥️♥️♥️ thank you for the memories ♥️
No one writes like this anymore.
A brown LA haze. Growing up in Northern California in the 1960's and 70's, we know about this more than we should!
I Love you Jim Croce!!! Cheers🥂Rest in Power dear friend🥲
I've had Jim Croce's greatest hits on LP, 8 track, cassette, CD, and know on my phone.
R.I.P. Jim... thanks for the music
One of my favorite artists, however his life was cut way too short, such a sad story! 😢
@@billsmith9388 No, man, it was an accident.
So it's not sad because it was a accident ??
@@otom20 sorry, not what I meant. It a sad story, great singer, songwriter, taken much too early, in the prime of his life.
Is it possible for u to publish the full music sheet that appears briefly the background of the video?
Yea nobody ever recognizes and acknowledges thease really beautiful mellow truth ful tunes
Hello Dawn👋

So uplifting. Just beautiful!
Never gets old, love Jim's music.
I had just fled a bad marriage. I had enough to buy a sound system and one record. Jim Croce was that one record.. saved to play only in evening when kiddies were in bed. Still absolutely love this song and Jim
I'm wanting to dedacated this to my girlfriend Shelly
Jim and his music are frozen in time, so it comes as no surprise that it still affects me just as deeply each time I hear it. The purity of his music lies in stark contrast with what we have now, and it just compounds the loss.
Good words my friend. Best wishes to you.
@@philmullins136 Thank you very much for your kind words Phil, I'm glad I'm not in this boat alone. Be well sir.
You got that right!
Most of what they record / play today, is garbage.
Aye
Having recently lost my mom, as I listen to this song, I’m taken back in time to my early childhood, warm summer mornings, my mother, too self-conscious to sing more than a few words at a time, softly humming along, sidestepping every couple feet taking down the dry sheets, reversing course pinning the clothes up on the line in our backyard.
I’ve never missed anyone more in all my life.
What a songwriter, arranger and voice! Blend it all together, perfection. Like the perfect summer day.
Aww❤😍
Absolutely.

What do you mean ?
Well, I know it's kinda late
I hope I didn't wake you
But what I gotta say can't wait
I know you'd understand
Every time I tried to tell you
The words just came out wrong
So I'll have to say I love you in a song
Yeah, I know it's kinda strange
Every time I'm near you
I just run out of things to say
I know you'd understand
Every time I try to tell you
The words just came out wrong
So I'll have to say I love you in a song
Every time the time is right
All the words just came out wrong
So I'll have to say I love you in a song
Yeah I know it's kinda late
Hope I didn't wake you
But there's something I just gotta say
Know you'd understand
Every time I try to tell you
The words just came out wrong
So I'll have to say I love you in a song
Thanks so much Jim and Ingrid for a lifetime of LOVE ! Jim your music has been a part of my emotional life for 50 years, thank you, thank you, thank you !
AMAZING -
Nostalgia..... embedded into my psyche from early childhood.......
born in 1971 and the whole 70's and 80's these songs rocked the airways
One of if not his greatest composition. He and his music are truly missed.
He is so sad
@@gwenellis9529 His music is sad?
Such a tragedy 😢. Only the Lord knows the number of our day !!
When I hear his music I'm 16 again, 8 track playing in my yellow Dodge Colt.
Hello Deborah, how are things going with you?
It's a beautiful song with a haunting melody.i used to play it in Eflat minor in a jazz club.the audience would be unusually quiet during, funny because they ignored everything else I played or sang.
Love isnt real. Ppl are incapable of love. Noone has ever loved me. All I get is hate and all the world is ok with it. Noone cares
Graduated from High School in 75
This man is a LEGEND
Such a beautiful , meaningful and tender song. Really touches the heart. Pure and real feelings. thank you, Jim I liked it so much since the first time I heard it.
Growing up in the 70's and 80's, I always wondered if this song was written for someone Jim knew... now I know. I love the pictures of them together.
My memories of Jim Croce are forever lovingly entangled in my childhood summers . Lived in So Cal throughout the school year, and spent the summers on the family farm in Iowa where my Aunt Pat had that iconic Consol TV/stereo that played LPs..This album had Roller Derby Queen on it, and my cousins and I played it until the grooves wore out!! I was 8 years old and learning harmonies lol
Great songs he did .we would cruise in my 70 Torino GT..8 track playing this all night...if we only had a time machine..lol..😅
My love i love you
I love you too so much❤❤❤
Aah those were the best days in the 70s. Jim Croce is timeless... this still sounds like a new song one can't stop listening to it.☺☺
🎶♥️Hearing those words,I LOVE YOU is as GOOD as it gets.💋😇Thanks for shari g.
Im not a Angle, how can i hear you from so far!
But im still hoping and waiting to get atleast a msg from yours! Fréd..... 😔
Lost life too soon. I miss him
This music is like a time capsule. It can instantly take you to another place and time
Hello Karen, how are things going with you?
Sort of like time in a bottle?
its like a thought never can be taken from u
oh god, so true, and it HURTS
that we can't go back and do it....all over again!
