True, but you wont see many people taking their g wagen into serious offroad use… it‘s a shame i think too but it‘s simply too expensive and real offroad enthusiast often can‘t commit to cars which are driven as statous symbols like the g wagen is mostly. Tbh i‘d love to own a g wagen offroad beast

From all G- Wagon models, the German Bundeswehr Wolf is still the sexiest. Leather Interieur, walnut wooden Dashboard, etc. is no configuration for a heavy duty Offroad Car! Even the early 460 Models are a little bit similar to the Military Version. Herzliche Grüße aus Deutschland.
No it was designed for Iran military for the king of Iran. 3000 was built and ready to deliver but because of revolution it was not delivered. So it was sold to public to recover the money spent on building it. In fact iran had the sole right to own for next 5 years after making it
I have seen some of the oldest Gs (230G Argentinian proto, 240GD pre-series cabrio, 230G 5 door general’s cabrio, the flying 230G cabrio…) but I have never seen an Iranian version and never heard of any. The Iranian revolution ended just 2 days after the production in Graz has started so I don’t think they had any time to build them.
