My truck is getting delivered to dealership in June. Will be performing this exact process

A lot of work that so many do. Why not just remove the bumper and cut the bolts? I believe it to be less work and certainly less destructive. You'll still have your crash bars too. Just saying.

If you took off the front bumper, which is actually pretty easy what you could have done is cut the bolts and the welded nut and slid the crash bar out. Then if you need to put them back in, all you need is new bolts

Nice video! Wonder if you had +18 offset rims, would you still need to cut off the crash bar?

A grinder would work to just trim the rubbing part right?

That’s what I was thinking. Or just cut off 1/3 of the bar near the end where it’s rubbing so atleast you still got 2/3rds of the bar there for “safety”. I really don’t see how these bars are doing anything safety wise anyways, you got a big steel bumper right in front of it and huge wheels ands tires right behind. Those crash bars are like toothpicks

All you have to do is cut the bolts then cut the crash bar in two pieces and you can get it out

Nice looking truck! I’m surprised that they rubbed with a 6inch lift kit. I’m still debating on my crash bars but I may just do the same

Take the 8 bolts off the cab and lift it far enough to pull the bolts

Why does he keep repeated himself. Really? The crash bar has only one bolt?

Cutting it just enough wouldn’t be better than removing the whole thing?

You could remove the whole thing but you’d also have to cut out he bolts that hold it in place and they were a pain to get to! So I just left that part in and cut out the main part in the way of the tire.

You would have to remove the entire bumper to remove the whole crash bar
