Did u think about splitting the 2020 set apart and connecting another set to it for more space? I want to buy 2 sets so that I can make a much bigger set and do something I don't usually do and completely ignore the instructions. I might post this video on my channel when I can buy this if anybody would be interested to see a big battle scene. I also want to do this with the duel on starkiller base btw

LEGO made an episode III nute gunray in the 2012 anakins Jedi Starfighter (the green one). That set also has an a Mustafar fight scene, in the form of a mining droid and a platform, as well as obi wan and Anakin minifigures.
They should have a set with anikin and the young lings

I feel like the 2020 one is a pretty cheap opportunity to get Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi, which is why I prefer the 2020 one. Although the build for the 2005 is better than 2020.
GhostDiver I agree but I wish it was a way bigger set that was like 80 dollars but the set does fit with the 20 dollar light saber duels that LEGO seems to be doing

the only thing I think are bad with the figures are the light up lightsabers, in my opinion its a horrible innovation at the time they were made at least they didn't use it for today.

Don’t flick the lava feature in the 2020 set, I sent every stud flying and I have to use the extra pieces now

But yeah I have always, even as a kid seen _stud shooters, all "studs flying" features and even flick fires_ just annyoing. My hands and imagination do a better job. Spring loaded shooters are OK though.

Because of the complete Saga, I like the old Anakin more...
I also think it's a good figure, but what I do not like is that in the 2005 set both Anakin and Obi-Wan are smiling, and I cannot remember neither of them smiling in the Duel on Mustafar scene.

The lion is nice to look at in videos or behind glass but you'd be much better off buying the kitten for yourself? Sounds about right
I prefer the minifigures from the recent set due to the sheer amount of detail, but prefer the older set in terms of the building. More room for playability.

Imo the 2020 set looks indeed very cluttered. But it would be pretty easy to clean it up a bit.
Metawarp meant the characters. Something about the simple faces just gives it a more imaginative LEGO feel, yah know? Like it wouldn’t look out of place even in a non Star Wars setting, which I think is a good thing. Like you could put them in a lego city set and not look too out of place.

2035: Return of the Light-Up Lightsaber figure now with moving hand. Wand pieces now have a transclear center with blue outline so now they light up just like in the film. Three faces on each, with detachable arm and legs on Anakin. Removable capes too. Obiwan gets his earth brown legs back with dual molding.

Whenever I see the lightsabers I only think about translucent flavored lollipops, such as push pops.

I have been conditioned to believe that these plastic pieces have a taste but they don’t. Infuriating.

LemonGoofBall wow, why? it’s just horrible. i’d much rather have bigger space to play than that little, cramped area that has a spot with some clear studs for no apparent reason. there’s many more places to put the figures in the old set. the new set is just an effortless release to get money. back then, there was actual thought and imagination put into the set.

The hilts weren't removeabale. They were just like that for the light ups. The lightsaber hilt hasn't changed since 1999
I like the extended fire detail....and even though more of a compact set, I love that I can save space in my LEGO display and get a great detailed scene.

the mini beam, pole thing was supposed to be a tiny recreation of the floating structure they fought on, if you push the two wing looking things down you can keep it standing up. (I'm saying this before I've even gotten the set lol)

That was a rollercoaster. It felt like you were saying soooo many good things about the new one and only bad things about the old one. Then you come out with a plot twist that you prefer the old one.
I think the 2005 set were supposed to have them fall over. Since then have the smooth bricks on it. Maybe I'm wrong but thanks for an entertaining video

There was another duel on mustafar set, released after LEGO changed the faces, but before Disney got the Star Wars license.
I got it as a child, broke it, and can't find it anywere online.
Given some time with the fighting mechanisms, I think I could get a good grasp on how to play with the older set.
The 2005 build could definitely be improved with some minor design changes, and some more detail.
They can definitely not do anything about it now, due to it being released nearly 15 years ago now. But with minor design changes, I absolutely agree
The 2005 build was doomed from the start. The 2019 build just needs to have more space for it to be good

It is easy to replace the batteries all you have to do is take off the arm w/o Lightsaber take a small needle and pit between the two batteries and pop it outward carefully and the backplate will pop out
The newer beam is that you can create the scene when the beam is falling down Obi-one is on the top and Aniken is on the bottom but with the beam in a upwoods angle. I honestly don't know what the other name to it but that is what I found out with the new version of the Duel on Muustafar.
Tbh it shouldn’t be a surprise that the new one is better cuz in 15 years they definitely should improve

I think some of the 2020 sets are really good as moc inspiration also the smaller details are a good way to teach newer and younger builders more advance techniques. For instance the duel on Starkiller Base could be inserted as is to a moc.
The old one is probably a nicer set but the new one is the cheap and cheerful version and I can respect that

He commented on the bubbles in the blades and honestly the no bubbles looks so good but the bubbles is nostalgic
think when i buy it am going to redesign the set in some ways. iv got a load of black and dark brown bricks to make a little high ground added on to the set. and remove the red bricks with clear red bricks where the platforms move up and down on and add a couple clear bricks under the platforms to make them look like they are floating

They also updated the colored rods for LEGO by the air bubbles compact in the rods if u look back at the video
if you look near the walkway on the 2020 set it reveals a 2x2 area on top of the tall black stone- that is the high ground, while the rocks below are where Anakin is charred to a crisp.

the 2020 set takes place before obi-wan jumps off of the droid onto the high ground.
I remember in December they had ads for that 2005 set, sometimes back-to-back, during every commercial break on Nickelodeon. I thought it looked awful.

I csn see myself getting this set, one as a model & the other for parts. I REALLY like the trans. orange helicopter propeller blade cause I can use it for some expanded builds for Mars Mission.
Doesn't the Obi-Wan from the 2005 set have a brown hood instead of the hairpiece? I had that set when it came out and I loved that he had the hood, it wasn't an easy piece to find
