Priceless! I love your authenticity. I know there are many that would have cut that last part out, but I love that you kept it in and shared it with us. How many times have we all been there? I so enjoy your videos and look forward to the next one.
I really thought about cutting it out, but then I figured "Hey, this happens. So let me show folks that it DOES happen, don't die over it, and an easy way to fix it." I made another video right after with the fix and it will be out this weekend.
Becky I must say the look on your face (when the light bulb came on) was priceless! I’m not saying that in a mean way either... anyone that has every sewn anything has made a mistake one way or another... I was watching your video around 5AM this morning and this has turned out to be a great Friday since I had such a belly laugh. Thank you for being the real person you are. I know that if I lived in Texas we would probably be friends. Keep up the good work. If you can’t laugh at yourself who can. Have a blessed weekend.
Becky I absolutely love the look on your face when you realized you messed up... Priceless! Can’t wait to see how you fix it. 😊so nice to see I’m not the only one who messes up then has to figure out how to salvage the project. Thank you for sharing the boo boos as well as the triumphs. ❤️
Thank you for doing a real real video of one of us quilters.... you are such a good teacher , I also love you explaining to us what tool is right for what project you are working on. You make me feel a okay if I have the same tool or one that is similar...🌺
Can't wait for the next video. I have no idea what you have done wrong! Thank you so much for getting me into machine embroidery again. I have had my Bernina for 12 years and have only embroidered towels for Christmas presents! Products here in Australia are a little different (name wise) but I am sure I will work it out. You know what? These lessons are worth a small fortune, you are very generous in sharing your knowledge. Thanks again.
I have been embroidering for about 12 years and I have learned so many things from your videos. I feel like I'm chatting with an old friend every time I sit down to watch. I don't do much garment sewing but I even like listening to those videos also. I ordered the magazine that was on special. I had it several years ago and let it lapse. I embroider on a Babylock Destiny 2 which I got two years ago. I am learning on my own. Thanks for the wonderful videos.
Aren't you sweet? Embroidery is so much fun - even when boo boos happen. I'm glad it happened because I made another video right afterwards that shows an easy fix for this common mistake. Thanks for your kind words!
OOPS! Thought I was the only on who skipped steps. Now I know I am in good company. Love watching you work and talk at the same time. I can’t walk and chew gum. Looking forward to your redo.
I’m really laughing at myself right now. Watching what you do and knowing you make mistakes too like myself. I just spent 45 minutes carefully tracing out an appliqué and used friction pen. And did not realize it till I went to iron the fusible onto the fabric.. guess what happened. I have to trace all over again. Things happen and we move on. The lesson I learned is I won’t do that again. Big hugs Becky. You’re doing a wonderful job in teaching. Love the videos.
I have the Baby Lock Ellure Plus and it is giving me fits! It eats the bobbin thread the fabric every single time I try to embroidery🙄. She’s going in the shop
I love that you are doing this. I finally get to stitch along with someone that has the same embroidery machine as me. To bad we can't communicate, I would have reminded you to put the batting down. . .lol Can't wait for the next video.
Oh Becky your boo boo face is priceless. I can’t wait to hear from you with the correction video. We all have done it. I’m excited to do the process with you. I do have an advanced question can I use my scan n cut to cut my seashell appliqué pieces? Thanks.
YES! And I'm I'm going to do a video on how to do that next. Part III that I made last night will show how I fix the boo boo and there will be a Part IV on how to use the SNC to cut the shells. This has been so funny. I'm actually glad it happened so I can show how to fix this common mistake. Thanks for watching and commenting! lol
Oh wow your face was priceless!! Wanted to join in with this and downloaded instructions and files but guess my 7x12 hoop is not big enough as my machine only recognised one of the files. (Bugga it!) but look forward to watching you do it xx
Oh they look on your face.......I honestly feel for you, have done the same on a different project, I sobbed for hours, there was no consoling me that day, good luck
Becky, love your videos! You’re such a natural and comfortable teacher....a godsend for this new to embroidery girl. I heard you mention having attended an OESD presentation and wanted to ask your opinion of it. I’m considering signing up for one at an All Brands in Lafayette in a few weeks and wondered if it would be helpful to understand the ins and outs of machine embroidery. Ty. Melissa Noel
I really enjoyed it and if you're new to embroidery, you'll do a lot of hands-on projects that will get you more comfortable with the entire process. Those classes are helpful because if you get stuck you have an instructor or other experienced embroiderers around you to help out. I highly recommend you go to the class and enjoy yourself!
Oh! Thank you Becky for the chuckle at the end... I so relate! There's nothing like a booboo. I appreciate you showing your booboo. Awaiting for the next installment of the embroider along!
Hi Becky (my daughter's name too). I have spent the last hour reading a number of your blog articles but can't find the 2 you mention in the video. They are the ones that will show me how to resize embroidery Designs and also the one for getting the design files from the internet to a computer. I put the words in, in a number of ways and the message said that they could not be found. Would you please give me the exact names of the articles. Your videos are the best educational videos that I have watched and I have watched many because I am one of those people who bought an expensive machine (Bernina 770 with the embroidery module) and let it sit for a year without turning it on.

Becky, I love your way of teaching. Enjoying your sew along. Could you tell me what make you use for the bobbin thread or is it the same as the embroidery xx
These are bobbins just for embroidery machines. They are wound with a finer thread and work great. I ordered them on Amazon and they come from the Thread Nanny. 144 of them for $29.95. I have had zero problems with these. amzn.to/2ldwLxU
There's a school of thought that you run the risk of shredding the thread and causing a knotted mess inside. The way embroidery threads are spun, they are not really designed to withstand a backwards/forwards drag. (Or so I've heard). :)
I am watching you seashell runner video. Very enjoyable. I do have a question. You have a scan n cut. How can you cut the applique with the scan n cut and place it into the design?
I am so glad, Becky, that you will be teaching scan n cut applique. I never thought about the batting would have to be cut out too. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
Did your blue embroider mat that you use to line up your fabric in the hoop. Come from Dime or any place like that? If so, what is the phone number to call to order one?
Becki, I have a Brother 5x7 embroidery. But am wanting to know about yours . My Hubby is wondering about the price. I so enjoy your videos. Also thank you and your husband for your service mine is a 28 yr Navy Veteran. I sure wish we lived closer. I am in SW Indiana. My closest Brother sewing center in Evansville and have to depend on someone to take me. Is it possible to buy online. Thank you .
Tell your hubby thanks for his service too and he couldn't have done it without a supportive spouse! I started with a 5x7 too. The machine I have I bought on Craigslist for $3,500. Machine embroidery is not cheap. The newest machines are upwards of $20k. Really. You have to decide if this something that you will do for years or not. If so, it is worth the investment and Synchrony will finance for 0%. But, if this is a passing fancy, (be honest with yourself) then stay with your 5x7 and enjoy whatever you do. However, if you continually feel like you're being held back by the 5x7, then either go cash on an estate sale Craigslist find, or jump in with both feet for financing. We have done both and don't regret it. We have a Janome 7 needle that we financed. This is a personal decision but I can tell you, I'd rather sit in front of an embroidery machine than the TV. 😊♥️
@@marciashipley9499 I suggest looking around on the Allbrands website. They often sell trade-ins that are much less expensive than the newest models.
