Brings back memories of my visit back in 2010 there... Glad to see your video of it as now I won't be able to visit it as I'm stuck in a wheelchair... The other layout (Vale of White Horse) is the one that I most remember though as it's even bigger and the railway is even more lost in the landscape like in real life, and it also is filled with many wonderful stratchbuild buildings from the station area to the village with it's thatched roof houses and farms. It's this layout that made me switch from continental railways (Belgian mostly) to British railways in the 40's (and also in the 80's due to memories of my first trip by train to the UK in 1985 - first Dover to London Victoria then London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street with the IC125).
Sorry to hear you won't be able to visit anymore Eric but I'm glad you were able to relive some memories. I think it's safe to say there will be a video on The Vale scene along at some point too 😉 Thanks for watching 👍
Very relaxing and impeccably well filmed. Music fits smoothly over the top and you’ve done well to avoid as much reflection off the glass as you can. Cheers and keep up the great work - Alex.
Glad you enjoyed it Alex! The staff at the museum were very accommodating with switching off some of the lights to minimise reflections or opening up the glass screens when there wasn't much public around which I was very grateful for. They take a huge amount of pride in their work, rightfully so, and want it to be presented in the best way possible. Thanks for watching 😃
It's superb isn't it! The viaduct especially is incredible - well worth a visit to the museum to see in person if you can. Believe it or not this is actually their smaller layout! Thanks for watching 😃
Many thanks for featuring the magical world of Pendon in this feature length video. As you mention, we also have our own RUclips channel with even more content, for everyone to enjoy. www.youtube.com/@PendonMuseumVideos
Glad you enjoyed it, amazingly this is only the smaller of their two main layouts! It's definitely worth a visit next time you're in the area I'd say 😉 Thanks for watching 👍
That viaduct at the beginning is amazing! I love all the Southern Region stock, it may be my favorite BR region (although, I do love the Midlands). Great video! :)
Nice video, it is difficult to capture the scale of the layouts on a screen. I went there in the same weekend as STEAM Swindon and Didcot Railway center. Its a great area for GWR nerds.
Yes, I'd definitely agree with you on the scale. You really do get a sense of trains getting smaller and disappearing off into the landscape rather than going behind a wall or back scene. I can't claim to be a GWR nerd myself but even I can appreciate the work that has gone into this! Thanks for watching 😃
Recently discovered the channel and can honestly say it’s the best model channel I’ve found. Videos are super enjoyable and informative, I’ve been watching your beginner model series as I get back into the hobby and hope to build my first proper layout in the coming months, looking forward to some more tutorial videos 😁
That's great to hear Aaron! Really glad you've been enjoying the videos and best of luck with your own layout. Fingers crossed it all goes well. Thanks for watching 😃
Soon hopefully, I’m currently in the middle of filming a big series for it at the moment. Channel Members are getting updates on the progress as it happens but there will be videos showing the progress for everyone once the work is completed. Thanks for watching 😃
My first visit to Pendon was in 73, when it was still in a nissan hut. I had the pleasure of meeting Roye England on a number of occasions up to 81 when I moved away. I have returned on odd occasions since and the vale scene as absolutely epic. Also the Dawlish scene could be taken for a moving photo, stunning. Thanks for this fantastic filming. 👍👍👍👍
It's stunning isn't it! Have you seen my most recent video that I just released of the Vale scene? I certainly agree that it's an epic diorama! Thanks for watching 😃

Mesmerising, that includes the great choice of music .....😁
Thanks David, glad you enjoyed it 😃
Colouring looks so realisitic and with background looks fantastic
It's incredible isn't, I love how the trains just curve away off into the distance. Thanks for watching 😃

This is really incredible. What an amazing layout this is. Beautifully presented. Thank you.

Beautiful. Lovely stock, great detail. The sort you could watch for hours. Many thanks.
I certainly did watch it for hours - not that I noticed, the time flew by! Thanks for watching 😃
Excellent video! The layout is totally amazing! 😀👍
The amount of work that has gone into creating and maintaining it is just staggering! Thanks for watching 😃
@@ThatModelRailwayGuy your welcome!
Put a passenger train and it would look like Settle - Carlisle.....wonderful
Do the passenger trains in the video not count? Thanks for watching 👍
Traaaaaaaaiiiins
Very impressive layout. It must have taken so much time to build the bridge section, and locos looked great going over the bridge 😀
Yes the viaduct is an incredible piece of modelling - wish I could have one like that on my own layout! Thanks for watching 😃
I regret to inform you that I must subscribe otherwise if I do not my sanity will cease to exist
Well we wouldn't want you to loose your sanity, subscribe away! Thanks for watching 😃

Whippeeee
Love it , I keep watching this over and over . Thanks
I don't blame you, it's a stunning layout with plenty going on! Thanks for watching 😃
It's called Dartmoor, not Blackmoor.
How on Earth did I manage that 😅 Duly amended, thanks for the heads up 👍
Thanks for sharing - it looks fantastic. I still haven't been but it's close to my in-laws so will have to go next time I'm up that way.
Glad you enjoyed it, amazingly this is only the smaller of their two main layouts! It's definitely worth a visit next time you're in the area I'd say 😉 Thanks for watching 👍
Absolutely stunning! :)
Tell me about it, the video doesn't really do it justice! Thanks for watching 😃
That viaduct at the beginning is amazing! I love all the Southern Region stock, it may be my favorite BR region (although, I do love the Midlands). Great video! :)
It's fantastic isn't it - wish I had space on my own layout for a viaduct that long or that high! Thanks for watching 😃

From the opening shot, this is a beautiful video. That viaduct is stunning. Great selection of music as well. Loved this
Glad you enjoyed it, it's a pretty impressive layout to look at! Thanks for watching 😃
Great layout, a beautiful and peaceful way to start out my Sunday morning, Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it Dave, sounds like a great start to your morning! Thanks for watching 😃
Great layout amazing mountain my question is when are you going to post another layout update
Soon hopefully, I’m currently in the middle of filming a big series for it at the moment. Channel Members are getting updates on the progress as it happens but there will be videos showing the progress for everyone once the work is completed. Thanks for watching 😃
Thats the one that was in the railway episode of James Mays Toy Stories right?
I have to admit I’m not sure. It’s ages since I watched Toy Stories and I’ll be honest I just don’t remember 😂 Thanks for watching 👍
Great video as usual! Where did you get the from music btw? Reminds me of the soundtrack from a 90s video game called Sim City 3000.
Glad you enjoyed the video! All the music is stuff I've written myself specifically for the channel. Thanks for watching 😃
@@ThatModelRailwayGuy That's awesome, really great music! This is the song it reminded me of ruclips.net/video/vBszCIKYumk/видео.html.

@@ThatModelRailwayGuy Yes, I watched them back to back. Thank you for sharing 👍👍👍
You've captured the atmosphere of that layout so well!
Thanks Alastair, it was certainly good fun to film! Thanks for watching 😃
Looks great , i still cant see if its 4mm or 7mm as i'm watching it though .
4mm
Hi there, it's 4mm modelling in EM Gauge - basically 1:76 like with 00 but with a slightly less narrow track gauge. Thanks for watching 😃
Great vid 😀
Thanks Ian! 😃
Amazing job.
It's incredible isn't it! Thanks for watching 😃
