One thing you forgot to mention was lighting. Without good lighting like the studio light he used or good natural lighting you won’t get as good of quality as this. 🤓🤙
This is excellent, I want to start doing some film editing and learn it to help my wife’s events for the city. Do you have something just like this, but in daytime/sunlight?
Would you recommend using third party camera apps to control exposure etc or just the native camera app to do those things also would you shoot with native camera app or other camera apps thank you
What is it called when only something in the picture has like motion blur but it is the nation of the object that is visible but blurred? I’m trying to find tips on that but can’t find anything
Best to capture as much info as possible first then make your edits in post. Hence why RAW and Log exists. There are definitely ways to reduce the framerate afterwards without turning it into a slow-mo video
I went to film school. The cost of the device shouldn’t be the issue… Making a 20 minute student film is an incredible endeavor that has nothing to do with money.
But what if you already have the iPhone 14 Pro Max? 😅 I feel it looks good just basic without the editing for me. But I do sometimes edit it by color grading
@smartphonefilmmakingpro I tried, but nope still the same On both S23 ultra and 13 pro max It comes out the same 30 fps video on social media Tbh I hate social media for not allowing, 60 fps , 4k or (8k 30 fps) Or even HDR But I have no power to upload such a sorcery 😅
@smartphonefilmmakingpro Dude, I can't even have a Facebook customer service chat support !! It's just so bad. Also your reel is 30 fps not 60. The only good thing is the angel of your shot and the distance itself. Both S23 ultra and 14 pro max Can get very close to any object hence your video or photo can be used in a very cinematic way. I tried that on both. My only notice that samsung has better indoor photos 14 pro max has so much noise in artificial light unlike what MrWhoseTheBoss says. I been shooting with s22 base model and 13 pro max both since release for 1 year Yet s22 has better in door shots The resolution itself is different from what I see on youtube But you can get very cinematic low light photos from S23 ultra and 14 pro max in low light and they both will look identical except for S23 ultra will have better resolution But thr 14 pro max is not "bad" so people with normal phones won't notice the difference, they would just say oh both are nice photos. But if they pay attention they would see the difference, also social media will destroy the resolution on both anyways 🙄🙄 I always link my pictures which is cringe or samsung drop it or air drop it Whatever so irritating.
You know what, I am gonna link you an 8k 30 fps with your style of shooting and tell me your opinion You will see full resolution if you have 8k screen or it will be reduced to your screen resolution which will much details.
@@JulianEisenkirchner? How it will be shown like nice slow motion with 60 to 30fps joke? Only u put more duration on the footage then it will look like slow motion but not smoother than higher number fps footage slow motion
I currently have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and really enjoy creating car videos for my mates. They love when I shoot them videos of their cars, but I do wonder is their a better phone out there then the one I’ve got currently. Please don’t say the 15 pro max cause really there isn’t much difference, I’ve used both.

The wonderful thing about smart phone videography is that gimbals and sliders are scaled down and cheap plus require less space to set up shots
true!
shat are sliders?
Didn't realize I could set my phone to 4K 60fps. What a game changer.
that opens up a whole new world of possibilities!
Me neither
Me too haha
That's why iphone user's are called Dumb
32fps is better, that’s the equivalence to the human eye so it looks more natural therefore cinematic
Cool. I just need to pause the video to learn everything

It’s called taking notes

Excellent tutorial. Succinct but loaded with great information. Inspiringly well done!
thanks a lot!! appreciate it
@@JulianEisenkirchner bro, all the change in parameters are set before or after shooting the video?
Thanks bro.
@@ahambrahmasmi9776 how should you change them AFTER you shot the video? 🤔
oops! thats the 'editing' part isnt! 😖
Sorry and thanks again bro.

I love you showing the changes that each icon does as they happen, and as you name them.

that's true, lighting is extremely important!
Didn't say anything about slowing it to 24 or whatever
What kind of light?
Your tutorial is top 10 bro 💪🏻
I just tried it SO DOPPPPE!!!

Glad you like them!

I want to make more videos for Instagram and RUclips. I have a iPhone 13+ what are my best options for recording and uploading to these platforms
Which model of iPhone
that was the 14 pro - but this will work with any phone really

No problem 👍 :)
Man I just tried this and it’s so cool thank you for telling me this❤❤❤❤
glad it helped!
Thank you for sharing 😁
My pleasure 😊
Bro this is awesome. I just copied your technique and it worked to the T awesome awesome awesome.
Fantastic!
Do u always turn room lights off for cinematic look?
yes sure, almost no room lights look even remotely cinematic ;)
Why did you turn down the exposure on lock focus and then back up in editing?
Was thinking the same thing🤔
so now I am really struggling, is your bottle half full or half empty!
thanks for your tips!
Neat tip! Very insightful! 👍👌👌
Thanks for watching!
Why do you lower the exposure and then turn up the exposure?
It creates a different image. I know it might sound weird.. but if you don‘t lower ghe exposure first you‘ll loose information
@@JulianEisenkirchner Thank you so much! This is great info, I really appreciate you taking the time to explain it.
its not in the actual camera app do u have to go to the settings?

how to slow video at the end ?? like u did
can be done in any editor! just change the speed

Isn’t cinema at 24fps?
i am converting 60 to 24

How to save a short lol?
What? I don‘t understand the question
@@JulianEisenkirchner You can save videos on youtube, I wanted to save this but it is in a short format and I can't find where to save it 🤷♂ .

My iPhone 14 pro max show 30 frame not 60 ?
Yeah it does. I have the same phone . you have to go to settings then look for the camera icon then that’s where you set it
14 pro not 15
24FPS is the cinematic standard
true!
Can u elaborate? How?
Best to capture as much info as possible first then make your edits in post. Hence why RAW and Log exists. There are definitely ways to reduce the framerate afterwards without turning it into a slow-mo video
You shoot high and playback half speed for smoothness.
The final video result is actually color graded

It takes too long to save the edit
Step 1 have 3 point lighting
Well there is only 1 light

why not? What went wrong?
This is cool, but cinematic is 24fps, not 60
But we transform the vidoe to 24fps

? What do you mean?

Also don’t forget the 500+ dollar lighting
It‘s a $30 softbox from amazon

I have to say that, 60 fps doesn't work on social media
Only 1080, 720 (30fps) can work on social media.
