The genius of this theme is that it's actually perfect for Shindo when you think of it being from his perspective. He's a delusional narcissist he sees himself as finally taking his rightful place at the top of the Tojo after having to grovel for who knows how long.
He pushed his old patriarch because he is so easy to dealt with, he killed Kiryu's friends to riled him up, he took the position because vacancy. Don't be like Shindo, a punk who delusional.
Kind of like how the OG and Kiwami versions of "For Whose Sake", can be considered what goes on through the heads of Kiryu and Nishiki respectively. "The Grudge" is basically Kiryu's perspective of the conflict.

I really liked Aizawa in the beginning, but the way 5's narrative treats him and Morinaga after Kiryu's part just makes him really dull in my opinion. That's why I feel like he's still a throwaway even though he's the final boss of that game.

Oh damn the most viewed upload got deleted? Yep, heavily misused theme, an absolute masterpiece fit for entirely different context, but at least it got nice exposure by virtue of the final fight. Absolute epicness, anime, majestic, honor, heroism, duel, passion, heart, etc. . It's should be a duel of the two incredibly epic heroes. But welp it's a classic Sega fashion of underusing\misusing ot having proper music at all (for the latter I mean like many important Y0 bosses having generic boss theme instead of unique; in general of course Yakuza OSTs are masterpieces).
The saddest part is that Shindo could've been a way cooler villain. The setup was RIGHT THERE, he was Nishiki's Captain who holds a grudge against Kiryu for what happened to him, and even in Kiwami he came off as respectful, despite needing to fight Kiryu. They could've built on that, but instead we got MILF hunter.

Every year or 2 years or whatever we keep getting sh_tty trashy fighting games by Bandai Namco and at this point I hope I'm not the only saying this but it's getting stale. (Tho someone going to say "Yakuza is also getting stale.") Bandai Namco really needs to try new things, well they just revealed that Death Note Among Us style game and I feel the service will last a lot but won't get as much players as years passes. Either they give the Naruto license to Sega for RGG Studio to make a game or BN should look at Sega's homework and copy it or wait until BN's License runs out (how long till Bandai Namco's anime license runs out or is it forever? and Sega will aquire it and yeah yeah that. At this point, Bandai Namco only cares about the Online market and not the single player market. Nor does it seem they're interested in trying different gameplay styles. DBZ Kakarot doesn't count as the gameplay looks like a 3D Fighting game WITH an Open world exploration. (Just like Naruto Ultimate Storm series)

@AkiyamerGaming in fact the upcoming Pirate Yakuza game, in TGS gameplay footage Majima can activate shadow clones in his Mad Dog style just like in 5, 7 & 8 but now that Majima is playable again we get to see the shadow clones in action a lot more. In many TGS footage it shows that the clones will be able to attack enemies on their own. That should be the blueprint for a Naruto action Brawler game. It's a minor thing cuz he just summons clones but it shows that it could work. If Bandai Namco were to look at Sega's homework but they won't cuz what matters to them is more online competitive games. I guess they're the Japan version of a game dev telling gamers that single player is dead. At least that's how I think of BN.

Shindo was a 3 phase fight where Kiryu had to be tossed a sword himself to defend against Shindo. Whereas Kiryu beat Ryuji completely barehanded lmao.
Shindo even has better character motivations than Ryuji. Shindo: Fuck the Tojo Clan. I want Dojima Yayoi and I don't care who I have to kill to get her. vs. Ryuji: Waaaaaah! Someone else has a similar nickname and tattoo! I'm gonna start a war over it!
Kiryu absolutely didn't need a sword to beat Shindo. He grabbed it just because Yayoi tossed it to him. In Yakuza 1, Shindo brings a sword and even a whole army to beat Kiryu and yet Kiryu still beats him barehanded. Hell if you miss the last QTE of the Ryuji fight, he insta-kills Kiryu, no matter how much health you have. To think that Shindo is anywhere near Ryuji's level is absurd.
This guy and Aizawa are so alike in some ways. Both foolishly started a fight in a room full of furniture....ending up taking the fight outside after realizing their mistake. They only survived because there were no bicycles lying around.
