With your cookie dough you'll freeze, roll it into a log before freezing it. The frozen dough log will take up less space in your tiny RV freezer than your pre-shaped dough balls. It'll take just seconds to slice off dough slices before baking.
Thanks for the kitchen tour! I'm definitely putting the misto on my Christmas list. One thing we do differently in the kitchen is to use a pressed loofa sponge for dishes. I like that it dries quicker than a washcloth and lasts longer than a Swedish dishcloth.
Hello Emma maybe I should have ate first 😂 I regrew a green onion too with a reused container. I reuse bike inner tubes as rubber bands now. I reuse a container like the tofu one to dry seeds on, and can be recycled after. Yeah using what you have to get the most out of it ❤ take CaRe
Ok, I’ll try you trick of pouring the number of cups wanted into the kettle to heat water for pour over coffee. This morning I shredded a bunch of torn brown paper bags I’ve been saving to shred & add as “browns” into my compost bucket where I’m making soil for my planters for along our Apt/condo walkway.
@@TheSimpleEnvironmentalist hey, that filling the mug with water in & heating that is a lot faster than my default of heating 1 liter at a time in my electric kettle.
We also have the Misto spray bottle! 👍 Directions say to release the pressure when you’re done using it (not sure if you were just demonstrating how it would sound when you release it, but wanted to make sure you’re not storing it pressurized since it could be dangerous). Ours has gotten really gunky around the trigger and won’t spray. I haven’t looked up the best ways to clean it yet. Do you have a way of cleaning it that you’d recommend? Your cooling migraine relief item suggestions from your chronic illness video have been on my shopping list. One thing I like for this is peppermint essential oil. I know it’s not the most sustainable thing, but you don’t need much so I’ve had my bottle for over a year. I add a high concentration to a little bit of carrier oil and put it on my temples, behind my ears, and the back of my neck. The scent is refreshing and the cooling sensation is soothing + serves as a decent distraction from the pain.
@@TheSimpleEnvironmentalist yea I will have to look into it so I can get it clean and use it again! I recommend cleaning yours maybe once per month so it doesn’t end up gunked up like ours lol 😅
Hey! Really appreciate what you’ve been doing you’ve helped me and boyfriend find all types of ways to be less wasteful! I was wondering if you had any tips for traveling with water. We recently got a Brita pitcher as we thought it would be better than single use bottles but we realize the filters are what is wasteful on those. Do you have any suggestions on what we could bring with us for travel? Thank you !
yay that makes me so happy! Yes! You can use a charcoal stick. Lots of places sell them like Package Free Store i think? They're easy to travel with, sanitize, and can be composted
@@TheSimpleEnvironmentalist awesome! We did some research on that and it may work for us! We appreciate you responding , looking forward to the next video! 🤍🌍 🤍
My favorite kind of zero waste thing in the kitchen is buying something you love when you are in the market. I needed new oven mittens and instead of going for cheaper and okay-looking ones I bought ones from this specific Finnish brand (Marimekko, although I'm surprised if anyone knows it) and I absolutely love them. They are good quality and look very elegant and timeless, and since I put a bit more money into them I will be taking good care of them.
Omg thanks for being here! The wine is from Earthgrown Wines and they use natural cork. The one I had in there (the colored one, i think) is my own reusable one
Love my Misto! It didn’t work well with Avocado oil, but works awesome with Olive oil. I got that cold head wrap for my husband’s migraines, but he hasn’t used it yet. I on the other hand use and love it as well as 2 of my kids who also suffer from migraines at times.
I have been reusing the same plastic soap for dishes bottle since 2012. We live in a plastic world, but we can do what we can to reduce our impact on the planet. Thank you for your videos Emma! Love your content
Turns out they take advantage of content creators and I don't want to support that. That does not align with my personal ethics and I suspect they also drop ship aka don't source their products sustainably. I have a full video on Patreon unfortunately, so it is behind a paywall. They were so nasty to me I don't even want to blast them publicly cause I literally think they would take legal action, yikes. Feel free to DM me and I can give you the name of them! Or you can pay $3 to watch the video on Patreon and then unsubscribe lol but please don't feel like that is necessary!
Thanks for watching and subbing! I'm plant-based. I still buy wool socks and leather work boots but eat 100% plant-based at home and when traveling as much as possible. I'm in rural US right now and I simply will not starve
Yes please do change the playback! This is significantly slower than I used to talk (see my videos from 2020 lol, or don't) and I literally cannot go slower so take advantage of RUclips's accessibility tools :) If you need help finding it, I can explain it or there is probably a tutorial on youtube :)

perhaps! I don't use the freezer a ton so we will see

I love my Misto!! I should try that I hear people talk about Loofa for the bathroom but not the kitchen but makes sense!
Thanks for keeping it real and sharing about your life because it shows me what living zero waste could look like ❤
of course!! it's not pretty but it's practical and eccentric :)
I have been reusing my scrap paper since one of your other videos I watched. And I just reuse the same laundry reminder note every weekend. 🙌🤗
omg amazing!! Love to see it :)
I use my used teabags as fertiliser, it works so well
hopefully empty! most teabags are made of plastic so be sure to check your brand before adding the entire bag to your plants
@@TheSimpleEnvironmentalist they're made of paper.
okay i sure hope so @@engineergaming4384

It would be helpful to some of us if you could talk a little more slowly. My hearing is very good but I get everything you say. Thanks.
You can change the playback speed in the little setting option on every video! I use it a lot :) I also love using captions
if you click the gear button near the video it will open the settings. from there you can change the playback speed to be slower (or faster.)
