I love that it's a real house tour with some less aesthetic and cluttered parts. We all have those! That's what I like about your channel, you really make sustainability cheap easy and fun (and real). also it was nice to see unnatural vegan in the screen :)
YES!! That is a big part of my channel is being real and not curating my life on RUclips to meet the aesthetics. I want to show that anyone can live low waste without the cuteness haha. Thank you! Also I LOVE UV!!
Thank you for this video and the other moving related videos to come. My husband and I currently live in Hawaii but in 2 years we will be moving to back to the mainland (contiguous united states). This will be my second major move in my life so it's a bit overwhelming to think about. Also don't stress about the mess since we live in a studio apartment, we are so much messier than you and Dan.
This got me thinking that every piece of furniture I have is second hand. Sub a table that my mom built for me ^__^ also I love that you're promoting dumpster diving in this video. You don't see many people doing that anymore. I dumpster dive for food constantly and I cant even explain how much money its saved me. Though it really makes you realise how much the grocers throw out 😬
It's seriously the best! Can't wait for our new home. I will probably do an empty house tour right away, a quick monday upload and then a furnished house tour in a few months :)
Love seeing all of the second-hand and homemade things in your home, it is so beautiful! Also, the tennis balls on the bottom of the chairs made me laugh because that's what we did in elementary school, so it brought be back 😄 Looking forward to the house tour in Vegas!
New subscriber here! We dumpster dive and love to see how other pepeople save perfectly good items that are thrown out. We will be catching up on some more of your videos soon! 👍
Yay the home tour, finally!! :D I love all the creative ways you repurpose things, that is so inspiring!! And all the things you found on the curb are so nice! you must have been so excited to find furniture to furnish a whole room, that's awesome! You have a beautiful home Emma :) Would love a home tour in Vegas too! I have a question regarding shopping second-hand: how do you buy large furniture second-hand when your car is small? I'm struggling with this issue as I'll be moving in a few months and I don't know how I'll be able to find a used couch or used bedframe (even though that's my preferred option) and transport it in my tiny car... :/
It certainly has been a long time coming haha! Thank you! I will probbaly do an empty and furnished home tour a few months apart :) that is SUCH a good question! I usually find a friend or neighbor who has a van or truck I could borrow. OR there is a guy in our area who his only job is to help people move with his box truck. OR we rent a truck from a rental agency! Hope these help!
@@TheSimpleEnvironmentalist Yay can't wait to watch it then! :) Thanks for all these tips! I have not thought of renting a truck, that is definitely something I think I will do! Fortunately, today I could pick a free chest of drawers in my tiny car. Still can't believe it fitted in it haha!
I love thrifting we have so many here in our city I would say 80% of everything in our home is from thrift stores or yard sales. And yes my 4 dogs are all second hand lol.. animal rescue. My containers for my container garden all but 2 of the 21 I have were given to me or I found at the curb when a neighbor threw them away. Anna In Ohio.
Amazing that a couple has a three bedroom apartment in military housing. A six person household was lucky to get a three bedroom apartment/house when we were in military housing.
@@lynndollarhide6887 thankfully military life has changed over the decades. We are Air Force, too, so that helps haha. We are also overseas so that is much different that stateside housing on base
I’m interested in getting into a more eco-friendly life-style but a lot of my least sustainable habits have to do with my health. I’m a type 1 diabetic and I’m constantly going through Rx containers, needles, lancets, test strips, bandaids, and more. Additionally, I always have to have snacks on me like gummies in case my sugar crashes and those tend to be individually wrapped. Do you know of any resources for eco-friendly diabetics? It’s definitely my biggest source of waste.
do what you can! Don't stress things you can't change. I have to take lots of meds for migraines. Change what you can instead like brining your own water bottle and bags to the grocery and restaurants :)
Your home is lovely. It inspires me to try beautifying..? My lack of imagination has made my whole house a huge rats nest... 😬 Hope Mochi adapts well with moving. Kitties can gets really stressed from changes to their environment/life
I don't get that creative with my space but I try to live minimally and intentionally to prevent clutter! I know Mochi is going to be scared and stressed so all the good vibes are accepted!
It's so awesome to see an eco minimalist who isnt obsessed with aesthetics! Love you and your pets soooooo much!
thank you so much :) I created this channel to prove that anyone can be an environmentalist without doing anything special :)
I’m so happy the RUclips algorithm “introduced” us. I am LOVING your channel!
Aww thanks RUclips haha! So happy to have you here thank you for your support :)

I loved the tour! I admire the intentionality of all of the pieces in your home!!!
Aww, thanks, Deanna! We really do carefully curate what we bring into our home even if it's not necessarily aesthetic haha

I love thrifting and finding unique things to furnish my home :) Good for yoU!
I wish we have some kind of garage sale here in Asia, it will be easier for people just get second hand stuff without commercial help.
Right! I almost forgot garage sales were a thing haha theyre so easy and fun!

It's crazy that this isn't even that big compared to American homes haha I think this house is so perfect for us, I'm going to miss it!
