As for the reconnecting I’m pretty sure the tool isn’t correctly doing the exit programming mode command and return to normal operation correctly. Code 22 is referring to OP code 22 which is requesting the Seed from the ecm, calculating the key and return it. Somewhere in that the key that was returned is incorrect. This same thing happens with IO terminal if you do it obd and unplug it without hitting disconnect first, the vehicle stays in programming mode and if you try to scan it with a scan tool it will show no comm with ecm. You do a complete power reset and the mcu returns to normal mode.
Thanks for the reply.. I thought the same as well but if you completely remove power as shown in the video then attempt to reconnect it results in the same error.. only after leaving the pcm without power for about 5mins will it connect.. mind you there is always comms with the ecm.. I can do an ecu info but unable to "connect to access rom functions" unless it's left without power for about 5mins..
@@globalcommerce7654 yes the tool can read info but that’s because it’s communication is on a different protocol. The reason you have to let it sit 5ish minutes is to let the capacitors drain and drop power to the mcu. Y in a scantool and see if it will communicate. I doubt it will. I can’t remember the different can protocols but for instance when a programming tool is sending programming commands it’s sending it to id 7E0 and a response from the ecm is 7E8 but when a scantool is communicating it’s sending a request to id 5E8(this is the UUDTRep ID for diagnostics) and then the scantool is looking for a response from 5E8. If it’s in programming mode the ecm ignores diagnostic id request. For programming the OE can ID modules kinda how they want to but Diagnostic side is standardized I believe for the OBD requirements.
@@autodiagyt I definitely suspected it had to do with being in some mode as leaving it for about 5 minutes works so that points to a capacitor holding charge.. Hi, thanks for sharing this videos. I would like to know, if by cloning the ECM I still have to reset the Immo? Or is the Immo function only whenever you planning to use SPS2 for programming?
Did you understand how to fully virginize the ECM? I did partially & i need to know if the VIN must be edited after performing the reset to make it fully ready for Techline connect
Would you be able to go into the HEX data and change the VIN before you try to use SPS 2 and program it? You say that it is in a Virgin state but is it really if a different VIN is stil in it? Great Work!

It sounds like the Key Master G3 might not have the ECU E92 option due to its specific coverage limitations. If you need coverage for the E92 ECU specifically, you might need to consider another tool with broader support or an upgrade.

once you do a clone, the car wont tell a difference
from one thing to another
Can you do the same (virginize) to used GM BCM to program in other vehicle via techline connect?

if you have a blank image you can
