I've been digging and digging to find a decent wireless N64 controller. The RetroFighter Brawler is for PC only. No Android or Linux support. I already have the 8bitdo Pro 2 controller. I love it. It has been abused and still doesn't drift. Battery life is unmatched. And its cross platform support is insane.
So, an N64 button layout/Gamecube handgrip controller is heacily welcomed. ❤️

Analogue 3D, selling 2024, sold out in 5 minutes, shipping June 2025! Plenty available on eBay for 2x the price.

I dont See anything about that IT IS Limited Not even a two per Person limitation. I think they Accept all Kind of preorders for the First batch i think , 4 years of development isnt cheap and with that small price compared to an original N64+ Expansion Pack , WiFi Mod and upscaler, i think they made the money over with the huge demand. And i think only Special colors later will be Limited. But we will See in a few days.
I hope this is not going to be like the NES classic mini console, or SNES classic mini console where it's short supply in demand and sold out and resold for inflated prices. Yes I do want an Nintendo 64 clone console but I hope it won't sell out too quickly or it's going to be like that movie Jingle all the Way 1996 movie or the sequel.

To me the move would've been to make it a hybrid of the sega 6 button and the n64, in the way that their pro 2 is a hybrid of the PS and SNES controller. But either way I'll get one, can't let perfect be the enemy of good.

@@mdiGrilome too, I think it's a well suited fightpad (if the D-pad feels sturdy and robust of course). I don't like the floating pads, altrough they may feel good, they are fragile, and parts inside might break if you accidently press to hard (happened to my brandnew RetroBit Megadrive 6button fightpad, after only two hours of playing)...

They have one. It's called emulation. Retroarch with Saturn cores like Beetle have let you do that for years.
The controllers should have kept the coloured buttons.

I've got so many bt controllers on top of a few third party modern n64 options so I'm glad I can go wireless, wired, or even use my wireless Admiral if I ever remember to charge it

Retro Fighters N64 controller is shaped like the 8BitDo one but the buttons are coloured.

I managed to get one. Didn't feel hard to do at all. Maybe my color option wasn't the popular one? I chose white. When I went to pre-order the controller off amazon, it was fully in stock in white, but sold out in completely in black. I'm guessing most people went for the black one, and that's the one everyone is fighting for. I feel real lucky that I liked it in white😅
I got the black one. Thought about the white but I wanted it closer to the original.
@@MYVINTAGECOLLECTION I almost got it in black for that very same reason, but then I thought about it and I was like... I already have one of these in black lol (the original). I wanted it to feel different, so I shifted to white. Both look excellent though. Can't go wrong with either way.

Think I’ll end up getting a clear green original in the future anyways. Also, I wasn’t lucky enough to get the black controller. Had to get white so I’m thinking the black is probably more popular. Surprised it hasn’t sold out since the black 8 bit do already did.

That black controller will pop up again at some point. The important thing is that you secured the console before the scalpers got them all. Now we just have to play the waiting game lol.

"Analogue3D does not support openFPGA." I dont think this will EVER have the capability to play different systems on it. everdrive64 will be the only thing you can use.

Analogue 3D controller ships March 19 2025 according to Amazon. I'm guessing that is the same for the system too.

If you can buy an original Sega CD that still works and you have a Analogue Mega Sg, you already have an FPGA version of that.
@@cr4sh0veride You could literally play all the Sega CD games on the Analogue Mega Sg, you just need a Mega EverDrive or the Mega Sg from Terra Onion, then flash all the Sega CD ISO roms onto an SD Card and load them to the Mega Sg then go to the internal console menu and turn on Sega CD audio and viola you can play Sega CD games on Mega Sg. You don't even need to use the disc or the add-on.

I would take it apart and built it into an original N64. The original look of a console is very important to me.
They finally did an overhaul of the OS, that's pretty cool.
I'm more excited 8bitdo finally designs a 64 controller than analogue releasing a 64 fpga console. Knowing Analogue's track record probably will ship late spring 2025.

The all white looks soooo clean... But you just know that analogue will release these versions and then within a year they will release "special" versions, probably funtastic clear colors, etc.

@@volvoguy804they only did two runs of the Super NT that I know of and they have no plans of bringing it back. This could be the same unless they release a bunch of colors like the Pocket.
@@Jason_Moorhees supposely its "end of life" whatever that means. Glad I got my Super NT when I did, cause there were very few chances until that last call for orders happened awhile back.

I think you're right since the labels on the cartridges lack a whole bunch of logos and stuff.
White looks clean and pops, while black has more of a sleeker stealthier look to it. Both are great, and it's hard to make a decision... if you even get a decision. Like you said, pre-ordering this thing is likely going to be a matter of taking which ever one you can get. I'm leaning more towards white, but I wouldn't be upset at all if I ended up with black.

The only real place I can think where they could go next would be an Analogue DS
They probably would wait until a dockable 3DS is viable so you get everything that came after the pocket.
And that would be really sweet I think, compared to modding a real handheld for video output and grappling with your controller options.
That's a hard sell, for me. What could they add to it that you can't get from a regular ol' DS or 3DS? At best better screens, *maybe*.

Might be a stupid question - but will this system be a perfect integer scaling of the original N64, approximating 4K? Or will it actually be rendering polygons and graphics in 4K? (Upscaled pixelated vs 4K rendered)
Ars Technical article says “To capture the "unmistakable essence of CRT" that the N64 was designed for, Analogue says it's using a "bespoke, purpose-built 4K upscaler" that it says goes beyond existing shaders designed for 2D games.”
If you take a look at the Retrotink 4k, it shows what can be achieved with low latency upscaling. Imagine 8x or 10x pixel scaling, with a variable intensity scanline overlay, an aperture grille or slot mask overlay, and HDR
This is pretty exciting, not gonna lie. The guy behind this core is a freaking fpga genius. The only drawback is that this is an Analogue product, so limited quantity, high prices etc.

Except that drawback doesn't really apply here. This isn't a limited edition console for $500. $250 is lower than most thought and like with all their other default colored consoles, there will be other batches if the first one sells out.

The only disc based console that I'd love to see recreated by Analogue is the Sega Dreamcast.
The controller website mentions you can upgrade the controllers by plugging the controller into the system. Sounds like the WiFi will allow for downloading updates.
I would love a disk based system that plays all Sega Saturn, CD, and Dreamcast games... And a Playstation that plays PS1 and PS2 games..

I own a 70" Sharp 3D tv - and although its not 4K all the original consoles look fine on it. Original hardware / original controller... only way to go.
Should I buy it now or wait for the clear funtastic colors in the future? Im sure they'll make them but years from now.
I think that see-through plastic tends to make hardware look kinda cheap, so if I were in your shoes, I'd get a solid color, but if you're keen on waiting, I don't think it will be multiple years from now. I could be wrong, but I have a gut feeling that this time next year, they're going to have new colors.
I have to wait and see if I like their scaling options or not. Once I see it in action, then I'll decide.

Because they don’t emulate. They recreate console to play the game cartridges exactly how it used to be. You’d have 20 different cartridge slots on one console, on top of 40 different controllers slots. It’s clear they remake consoles because the companies won’t do it themselves. And they can’t be sued because of it
@@Rudgged I said, make different cartridge/controller adapters for one unit. So you don't have to pay full price for an entire console for every platform.
Yeah, it's a fair point but in this instance, the Cycle 10 FPGA has about double the logic elements. It wouldn't be possible to do cart adapters on the old units along with 4k. Mixing and matching cd units is tricky and Analogue not only has to support the full PSX library but also create a custom bios. Same with the Saturn. There are not small feats and cost of development comes from selling hardware which we assume they make a profit. Considering the Cycle 10 GX costs about $250 alone, not sure how they're doing it this time around. The MARS project released this year which was suppose to be a base FPGA unit with multiple cart adapters but so far nothing has materialized.
I personally would rater an N64 Classic Edition Mini, but that's just where I'm at with gaming. No hacking or pc emulation, just a legit mini console. Especially if they currently have the rights to 007.
The problem is finding the 30 year old cartridges, especially ones with working batteries.
It should launch with see-through coloured plastic.
It's only about the price of a legit COB N64, the scalpers will have a field day with this...

I probably have fewer N64 games than games for any other system in my collection and I almost never play them. I love my Super NT and Mega SG, but I’ll probably pass on the Analogue 3D. I might buy an Analogue PS1 if they ever make one.

The is is pretty amazing. I wasn’t sure this would ever happen. I thought about getting an HD mod for my OG N64. But this is what I truly wanted. The white model is sexy as hell. But I’m going with black because my NT Mini and Super NT are also black and I want everything to match.
If there was enough affordable software I think Analogue could do well offering a X78000 because their systems would be MUCH more affordable.

Saturn had some big multiplayer as well and Playstation had multiplayer as well. On Saturn you had those huge Saturn Bomberman matches that have never been enabled since.
megadrive had those jcarts with extra joystick sockets and pc engine had a 4 joystick add on as well so the n64 was far from the first with 4 player capabilities.
I’m shocked how cheap they are selling it for.Hope you can use your influence and speak to them about making it easily available for everyone and not just the scalpers

I'm very curious about the OS personally. I also wonder if the 8bitdo controller has a port for the controller pack. Some N64 games require it in order to save or unlock certain features. I still have a working N64 but this is really tempting.
