OMG as someone who treats hand injuries ... you were giving me such serious anxiety the way you were using that box cutter! I just saw you coming into my clinic after having to have a tendon repair surgery going, "How am I ever going to play my retro games after this surgery?!" I need to take some prozac or something after it. Great video and you scared me more than any horror movie could.
carefull once you start then you want all of them to make a collection. boxes are counted for this reason :D also you can buy the evercade console to connect to your tv and play the catridges.
You may very well be new to this channel if that's the case. Pretty much everything anyone could hear of in connection to the Evercade family of gaming was most likely first and foremost from MLP!
Don't say advertising doesn't work, because I think I'm finally going to bite the bullet and buy an Evercade. I'm really starting to love this platform!
Save your money and build a raspberry pie emulation console. The games run better and aren’t limited to a couple good games on the cart and several bad ones. Remember most RUclipsrs are paid to say good things about ever add.
Mine arrived today (a day early) the Atari one is incredible, imo better than the Taito one I had before for my personal taste. This Atari one will be staying in my collection
If you have a woodgrain Atari Super Pocket coming don't forget to check which number you have on the back as they only made 2600 of them. Some early unboxing videos have surfaced and they didn't even check which number they had! 😆
I would definitely get the Technos one. I’m actually interested. I just can’t go back to Atari. It does nothing for me. The VCS has its place in history, but it’s like a Model-T… it’s classic, but I don’t want one. This looks like an amazing handheld. I’d get it.
I have one of the previous models (the Taito version) and I think they are absolutely fine for their cheap price. Good screen (although a bit small) and a good speaker. It can run PS1 games as well with no problem in the emulation. The only issue I would say are the awkwardly placed L1, L2, R1, R2 buttons. They can get a bit uncomofrtable for the fingers.
@@alerommel1 A laminated screen should be the standard in 2024. The screens on these also have a common fault with bright spots, so you could end up with a dud unit.
Looking forward to getting these to add to my ever growing Evercade Collection! Awesome Review as always. I picked them up from your shop to show my Support for your Channel. Also I picked up the CRKD Atoms from you this past Week and received them today... thanks for the bonus Skittles by the way! 😉👍
This definitely would make a cool gift for anyone who appreciated the Atari 2600 and the video games at the time. I bet anyone could enjoy this. It looks absolutely great for a handheld! Madlittlepixel, you always find some cool gaming stuff! Keep up the great content!
Got my Atari limited woodgrain edition in the mail the other day. Its really cool and so many great games. One weird thing with it is that it will not play the built in games if a Lynx collection cart is inserted. Doesnt do this with other carts like Atari collections 1 and 2. Just those 2 Lynx ones.
I’ve been one of the unfortunate ones to not receive a pre order in the UK. I ordered the Atari version but plan on getting both eventually. Had ordered via Amazon but for some reason it seems not all of the pre orders can be honored yet. Everything else I pre order on Amazon arrives with no issues. It’s annoying. I don’t know if Blaze underestimated demand, couldn’t get enough units manufactured in time, or distribution is messed up. Anyhow, thanks for the unboxing and review. Both of them look great 😀 The only thing I feel is missing is a brightness adjustment.
I got the woodgrain Atari one of these. I like that they're seemingly keeping to that same price for all these handhelds, quite affordable for a lot of people, and plenty games already out there. I'm waiting for a ZX collection cartridge. But the upcoming Toaplan 3 is next one I'll be getting
There's something to like on both of these game selections. It's too bad that Evercade carts weren't as robust in regards to game content per cart because that would make these superfluous.
I bought the capcom and Taito double pack last year and was very disappointed with the light bleed from the screens. It looks like these newer versions might be totally fixed though!
I want the technos one cos I'm a sucker for River City Ransom. Already have the Capcom one. If it weren't for RCR I likely wouldn't have gotten into Evercade but I'm glad I did, theyre awesome.
I have the Atari version on the way. I didn't go for the Tecnos because a number of those games were already on the Tecnos Arcade cart that came with my VS, and they weren't very good compared to the Data East cart that was also included.
Amazon UK screwed me on these. I pre-ordered both in July and they were meant to be delivered today, but got an email saying they got pushed back to December 28th. Instead, I cancelled and got them off Argos and should be here next week apparently. Ugh.
I bought the Taito version last year and although it was very cool, the screen is just too small for my old eyes. These are very nice handhelds though.
Oh ffs I haven't even bought the previous 2 yet and now these even more interesting ones come out? I'm gonna have to ask for a raise to fund this addiction.
Yes, no problems at all. I've played both carts on my super pocket. Although I find with my big hands the shoulder buttons L1,L2 and R1, R2 buttons are a bit awkward. They should have placed them on the ridge about one centimetre higher.
I have the Taito superpocket (same device, just different preliaded games). And unfortunately I find it a little cramped to enjoy playing on for my hands. Can be uncomfortable quickly. Also luckily I dont have any games that need it but the shoulder buttons are kinda hard to reach. But I think these new ones came with a general price increase Mine was like under or around $50 I think. And they seem to be more now (which is okay they are still good value). But for a bit more you can get a wider Evercade handheld (I think its called the VS? or VS R ? ). i kinda regret my superpocket, but I also wanted the Taito games.
Really enjoyed this video! You’ve explained the upcoming event in the crypto world really well. There's more info in my bio for those interested in this topic. I'll definitely be following your updates closely!
River City Ransom........ this was one my my first ROM download we had "river city nudist colony" as a hack back on the c64 and it was one of the first roms I downloaded when I started emulation.
Feel exactly the same when it comes to Atari. Was great for its time but it didn't age well. Once we got a NES never really wanted to revisit Atari. With a few exceptions of course.
Looks alright, but I think I'll pass on this. Most of the games I'd want on these carts I already have. Also, I realllllly don't need another handheld. lol.
Physically? I haven't been to a GameStop or Best Buy in a while, and I'm not fully sure what's on there these days. But the pocket players SHOULD be on either store's shelves as the hang tab on the box might imply.
I think if you really want one of these wait until after Christmas when they'll be discounted. But if you really want to spend $60 on something like this, just get an Anbernic, Trim UI Smart Pro, or one of the other decent emulation handhelds from China.
Pac-Man is namco, neither Atari (although they could have included the 2600 version of it, but thankfully they didn't) nor Technos. If you want the classic Pac-Man you have to get the Namco Museum Collection 1 Evercade cartridge.
The only thing I have heard so far, the Gremlin Collection 1 cart doesn't work with the Atari one. No real loss at the moment if you have a Evercade machine as well. 😉
These hyper super pockets are garbage! DON'T BUY THEM! The sound control is bad. even on the lowest setting they are loud. Also, THERE IS NO SCREEN BRIGHTNESS ADJUSTER! Its so bright in the dark that they hurt your eyes. Mine came with no screen film and the screen was scratched! They are poor quality. Get an evercade and skip these. They are bad!
What? This thing is $60. Just get an emulation handheld. Hell, get three for that price. Absolutely do not waste your money on this. I have a Anbernic RG353m that cost $160 and plays everything up to dreamcast. Its even solid metal.

Welcome to the family. Emulation is so low tier nowadays. Pay for what you get
Nah man, save for a PC for emulation, you will get more.
The evercade controllers on the other hand are making me doubt if i should buy them. 💀
I already did and I'm loving it🙂 Blaze has something special here
One of Evercade carts coming December 2024 that madlittlepixel couldn't tell us is Toaplan 4! Official Trailer just dropped. 😉
Double dragon and river city one is tempting.
Don't get it. I just got one and it sucks. Buy an evercade.
I pre-ordered mine as soon as it was announced. Basically what sold me is that it’s a good looking, compact Evercade machine with an Atari logo on it.
Cool looking handhelds!
Hopefully they make larger ones with larger displays.
There you go .... the Evercade EXP-R ... 🙂

They're not that good quality. The screens are poor by today's standards and if you drop this baby on a hard floor it's toast.

last months update fixes a lot of that as it comes with a proper cartridge restore option. Seems to have fixed a lot of broken carts.
I bought the capcom and Taito double pack last year and was very disappointed with the light bleed from the screens. It looks like these newer versions might be totally fixed though!

The Super Pocket units can play any Evercade cart. It's literally plug and play, just like an old DMG-001.

For a company that nailed the D-Pad on the OG evercade, the Super Pocket D-Pad is extremely disappointing.

I wonder if those handhelds can play the Tomb Raider and Legacy of Kain carts?
It does!
