Only regret I have is how fucking expensive accessories are. $40 for a mag *before* tax and shipping. Holsters are hard as fuck to find, paid $140 for a holster that would have been $90 for an M&P or Glock.
I don't hate the pistol, I hate the cost of ownership.

The Beretta APX is as good or better than other quality full size 9mm pistols, some costing over twice as much. It meets every requirement that we've come to expect from a modern striker fired polymer 9mm. For me the APX was so good that I sold my H&K VP-9 and put that money toward a nice AR Pistol and never regretted it.

I purchase the Beretta apx as well and the reason I went with a Beretta if you look at how long they have been making firearms I mean it's over 300 years anything mechanical can fail I don't care who the maker is I mean I like Glocks but Glock only came out in the 80s.
The Beretta I think started making firearms in the 1500 I don't know how old you are.
The police that's all they carried for a long time was Berettas and you know they're not going to carry anything that's BS

I think this gun has been WAY better sorted out of the box than competing designs. The CZ P10 had a lot of little niggling issues like a terrible mag release out of the box, The Sig 320 had very serious safety issues, the VP9 was undersprung in its earliest guise and even the Gen 5 Glock had issues with the coatings on the earlier triggers where they would degrade quickly (a sort of reverse break-in), the early M&Ps went through multiple generation of breaking strikers and terrible accuracy in 9mm. The APX has had none of these issues, it has been a beast out of the box but it gets no love. This is probably the one of the biggest failures in marketing in modern gun history.

I always look forward to your videos and I agree with everything you said. The Beretta APX is a very underrated pistol. It's very ergonomic, the stock trigger is great (isn't the best but it's up there), has a relatively low bore axis, the slide is easy to grab/rack, it's easy to take down (contrary to how some RUclips reviewers make it seem), has a high trigger undercut, comes with grip backstraps to adjust to any size hands instead of buying a new $50 grip module, the grip texture is great (not extremely aggressive but you can get a lockdown grip), it's modular (you can take out the trigger module and put it in a new grip frame very quickly once you know how and it's snug fit in the gun), very reliable (I haven't had a single malfunction in a little over 8,000 rounds mainly shooting cheap ammo) and it's extremely affordable. You can find a Beretta APX, APX Centurion, or APX Compact for around $300 or less prepandemic. Since the pandemic, you can probably find one for under $350. The primary issue is finding an APX at a store in the first place. You can find some online, but I know many people prefer to hold and see a gun in person before they purchase it. I've seen many more APXs at the range and many gun stores that do carry it are consistently selling out. If Beretta can adequately supply gun stores with more stock, I can see more third party aftermarket support for the APX.
P.S. if anyone owns an APX, I highly recommend purchasing a competition firing pin spring assembly at $15 directly from Beretta's website. You can install it yourself without taking it to a gun armorer. This upgrade reduces the trigger weight by 1/3-1/2 a pound making it such a sweet shooter. The trigger weight is still enough to carry safely while making it so much more fun to shoot.

I recently purchased my first handgun and it was the APX Centurion 9mm bc I'm left handed and want to conceal carry. I flipped the magazine release to the other side and put on the large grip and put about 300 rounds through it and it worked flawlessly. Completely satisfied with purchase. FWIW, My friend bought a Glock 19 gen 5 for Xmas and we fired our weapons together for first time using cheap ammo and his gun kept jamming.

Just got finished watching your 92A1, PX4 Storm, APX video and I was pleased to find you just uploaded this! I just purchased the APX fullsize as a birthday gift for my wife, who simply said, "I want a Beretta". After much research I went with the APX, and am anxious to get some actual range time. I paid COVID/gunbroker prices due to lack of inventory in Maine, around $450 after FFL fee, so I feel a little salty seeing all of the $350 price-range comments from the past few years. I found myself only bringing my APX to the range. I prob have 7K rounds, at least.. through mine and have never had the first malfunction, whatsoever. I don't (wonder) if I could count on it, but rather I have no (doubt) that I can bet my life on the reliability of my APX. Nuff said. I ended up selling the XDM and buying a second APX. I've seen this model pistol at various gun stores, however I've overlooked it mainly for the odd (to me) serrations. The overall look, was also unappealing in that it looked cheap in quality.
Since then and through numerous reviews, like yours, very well done by the way, I've been reconsidering, if not actively searching for the best deals on this pistol. You and some other reviewers comments, have about convinced me of the quality and performance capability of the APX. Thanks for the video, it was informative and entertaining.

I own Glocks, Rugers, Taurus, HK, S&W M&P, Springfield XD's, Colts, Kimbers, Kel Tecs, CZs, Berettas DiamondBacks, Kahrs, Sigs, Phoenix Arms, and I probably forgot a manufacturer, but I think that's all of them that I own. What I carry the majority of the time is the APX. I own 3 of them and prob $1200 in spare replacement parts and accessories.
I am not sure what you are seeing, but the APX feels and is every bit as robust if not more so than others on the market. Nothing feels or looks cheap on it IMHO.

@@80sDon I need to clarify my original opinion of the APX. I had only looked at it, not held it, nor even shot it, therefore I was unaware of what so many of you APX owners know. My initial comment and assessment was purely based upon it's looks and my uneducated perception of it's quality and performance. I was unaware of the military connection and the over-all reputation of the Barretta line of firearms. I just knew they were popular. My perception was tainted due to my experience with many of the firearm manufacturers you mentioned.

Regarding the Sig P320, is there a bigger slide release lever available? I absolutely hate the plastic under the lever on the gun on the left side while I’m trying to lock the slide open. Wish the frame could be replaced without that plastic ridge. I’m right handed, so I’m using the left side slide catch, and have noticed the right side has a different configuration of plastic ridge. I actually own the M17 and consistently shoot low left and others shooting that gun, experience the same low left problem. So any thoughts on different slide release options, or frame options and front site adjustments on the Sig M17?? Just bought the apx, haven’t shot it yet, can’t wait. Love the video!

I personally believe that the removable chassis system requiring the pin to be pushed while the spring is pulled up, is probably the only reason they did not win the military contract. It is a far superior pistol to the sig.

I can completely feild strip and pullout the chassis out of my Centurion frame and install it in my Compact frame within 3 to 5 minutes at most. Why would that be a big deal?
There is 1 notch in the pin in which the spring rest. You simply lift the spring out of that notch and then push the pin out. It is easy and takes literally a second to do...

I just realñized that you are the same reviewer of the Canuk 1911 which I bought after seeing your review and now I have bought the APX as well. Quick question, did you need a special sight pusher to change the rear sight? I ask since Beretta states that you need to use their on specifically designed for the APX. Thanks

Anybody else have issues with the paint on the rear sights of their APX? My full came with a pin-sized defect on the right dot (not terrible, but enough to be distracting). Beretta CS said I would have to send it in to get it fixed, but I would rather not have to wait 3 months to get our home defense pistol back. Any advice?

I think even SIG thinks this is a better design. If you look at the P365 which came out after the 320, they used a lot of the same ideas including the full length rails, the rear pin, and of course a MUCH lower bore axis. The 320 (which I do really like) suffers from being adapted from a hammer gun.

Yupper.. All you need is a $50 MSRP grip frame that routinely goes on sale for around $30. Or, you can buy the compact and just use a Centurion 15 round magazine in it. It will be the same difference as owning a Centurion.
