Please be aware that videos like this always attract a ton of bots trying to get you to go to external sources for “help”. I try my best to keep up with banning them but I know I won’t be able to catch them all so please don’t deal with anyone but Activision when it comes to CoD account issues.
@thexclusiveace I was in the shadowban loop and the way I got out was to 1) not play for a week on that account once it was unbanned 2) get on PlayStation and try to get reported (refire corners, shoot bodies etc) I’ve been without a shadowban now for 3 months after doing this
I honestly don’t understand why you would cheat, it ruins the for fun for oneself and others. I doubt that i would be satisfied for more than 3 Minutes using cheats

I remember back in 2019 all you needed to do to steal someone's account was to change the email that was attached to their Activision account to your own email, because it never sent a confirmation to the original email, and 2FA wasn't a thing at the time. Billion dollar company btw.
@imadecoy. Also happened to me during cold war, but I never managed to get my email linked again. To this day I've tried contacting activision support but I can't get anywhere. Can't even unlink my ps account
Yeah, they think I cheated and I was the actual account holder during the infraction. They banned me and closed the case, no way I'm going to play a cod again tbh
It's getting worse. I just got perma banned for absolutely no reason. I exclusively play zombies on PS5. My account is linked to my own Steam account because back in MW2 days I sometimes liked to play with mouse and keyboard. I have never cheated. My account wasn't hacked. Steam shows I last played on the computer in 2023. I suspect they are now just banning all console players with a linked Steam account. I appealed and got the generic form letter response telling me that they checked with security and confirmed I manipulated data. Ridiculous.
Great security PSA, Ace. Everyone should use 2FA/MFA on any account they even somewhat value -- hackers are everywhere, and the constant data breaches nowadays doesn't help.
Worth noting that 2FA doesn’t have to be a Phone Number either and can be a app that keeps codes for 2FA, Google authenticatior is an example but much better options exist such as Authy or other methods
This happened to me and I unfortunately lost my account. Someone gained access to account and I got banned. I sent proof to Activision and still no luck.
My account got banned after not playing for a month while I was out of the country. Activision notified me of suspicious activity on my account, 4 hours later I reset my password and they had already permanently banned me and are now telling me there was no suspicious activity, despite them telling me there was in the first place SMH
It already happened to me... I unlinked the account and activated 2FA only 5 hours after the unauthorized access but the damage was already done. I haven't even touch COD since Vanguard and haven't even played one game of MWII, III or Warzone but oh well, apparently I'm permanently banned in those games.
This just happened to me. Got an email but did not noticed right away of a new log in, friend request, and linked steam service to my Activision. Onced I noticed, I changed my pw and unlinked all accounts, shortly after activation said I’m banned. I’ve been emailing back and forth but seem like they are not budging. Activision won’t even allow me to unlink my ps so Seem I have to start from scratch in every aspect

I have that..... Didn't help. There's only 2 ways my account got hacked. Activision was hacked or an employee at Activision is selling the info..... I have never played war zone a day in my life so if Activision did do the right thing and go back and look they would have seen I never played on a PC and I have never played warzone either. So what did I do wrong. In the appeal that they gave me said none of that matters, all that matters to them is that the cheating happened on my account. So weather I got hacked or they got hacked or it happened in a different state on a PC on a linked Steam account that is not in my name on a game that I have never played once is MY FAULT AND I HAVE TO PAY THE PRICE AND BE BANNED FOR LIFE. That's absolutely crazy talk what other company would act this way. And there is no customer phone number to speak of or any way to reach out to them..... Just a real shitty way to run a business.

OK, so check me out I got hacked and when I sent in my band appeal, they said since I’m the owner of the account I cannot get it unbanned. I said I was hacked and that’s what they sent me.
Same bruh. I said that I was hacked and that my account was linked to steam without my consent, and they still won't get me unbanned. I bought mw3 a month ago along with a battle pass, so this was a waste of money.
My account was false banned. I have never cheated and only game on console with Xbox series elite controller. I don’t use chat or talk online. My game said temporary however online said permanent. I contacted the BBB and they are now handling my case with Activision, however activision was caught in a lie because I had screenshots and data from activision. Also I have no other linked accounts and password strengths are super strong.
Yep got banned 4 life. Been playing since the first Xbox came out. Now this hobby has gone. I activated 2-factor too late and 2 weeks later , BOEM. Activision kicked me , I did the appeal thing. That was was useless since they stated the cheating took place on my account (which is true), only it wasn't me. Why would I do an appeal if I was the cheater ??? This is one of the reasons I stopped playing games on the PC. I just have pop on the XB and go. Anybody other ideas?
The shadowban issue primarily affects pc players. I spent the first 250 hrs of mw3 on ps5 or my series x. Have dropped plenty of high kill games, nukes, etc, never had an issue. I finally build a gaming pc and within 2 weeks of the same kind of performance I received my first shadowban. The fact that it’s dictated primarily on reports from salty players who genuinely can’t imagine that someone is much better than them without cheating is ridiculous.
Well, when you have such strict SBMM the only way they see people that much better than them is when that person is reverse boosting. So of course they are going to suspect that player of cheating.

@@defeatignorance8681 there’s definitely some truth to that. But for as long as COD has been around there have been hackusations of good players even when there was less strict matchmaking. My issue is leaving the ability to render a persons account nearly unusable in the hands of that kind of community without a proper system in place to actually assess and review an account in a timely manner.
@@defeatignorance8681 SBMM is not as strict as you think, goes to show your own skill level if you think so, skill is prioritized over connection, but connection isn't ignored, so high skill players will end up in lower skilled lobbies to make sure they don't have horrendous connection, it wont be great connection, but not 500ms of ping and unplayable
2FA Is great if you have access to the email on the account. If you've lost access to that email there is NO WAY to change the email. So as a result I have an account that can be hacked because of the stupid rules that state you can't change your email if you can't access that email to get an email about changing your email. Crazy BS imo
Same situation except the app I had for 2FA is now gone along with its data once I got my new phone last year. Forgot the name of the app it was Google something. Either way, my account is basically locked to anyone besides me since it remembers my device/location of login. Even I can’t access the 2FA codes
2 of my friends that didn't have 2FA activated had their accounts hacked the last 2 weeks, back to back too. Both managed to get their accounts back and unbanned, but it was a pain in the ass. So yes, please make sure you have 2FA activated.
Had this exact thing happen to me on Xbox, got an email that a steam account was added, even though I had mine already added, then I logged on and saw my Activision ID got changed, made me level 1 and lost everything, after submitting an account take over ticket with Activision and 4 days later, had my account back.
Seems like there was a HUGE security breach on THEIR end. I've been playing video games for close to 35 years now(Yeah I'm an old head). Played call of duty since it dropped, never hacked in my life. Like EVERYONE else here, randomly my account gets compromised somehow (I'm extremely careful with my information & data), and then linked to my steam account, next thing you know a random person is hacking on my account, and somehow I'm permanently banned? They obviously didn't take 30 seconds to check any of the IP addresses or MAC addresses that these new accounts linked to ours, because if they did obviously they'd see it WASNT US and would overturn the ban! I spent a lot of money on these games, as I'm sure everyone else has, and I'm not going to let it go down the tube because they can't keep their information secure! SHAME on you Activision.
This happened to me last month. Someone linked their steam account to my Activision account and I got banned. I appealed the ban and they declined my appeal. What I had to do was an account recovery request and there’s a text box where I explained that the steam account was unauthorized. A few days later the steam account was unlinked and I got my account back.
This happened to me upon discovery last week. Finally got my account back luckily. Had to change passwords and update 2FA real quick. I have been popped with easy fall damage/deaths in return.
@OG_Murk you can't find any lobbys and if you find one, it's filled with cheaters. Also, if you go to the Activision website your are banned from searching for any games.
I’ve been reported & spam reported So much by so many different players that I can’t keep track since the anti-cheat came out in MW2 and i have never been “false banned” or “shadow banned”. I’m pretty sure you’re only going to get banned if you’re actually cheating, doing some exploits, unlock tools, or someone hacked your account
My homie went afk for dinner and when he came back he was notified that someone else on PC was playing on his account. He immediately activated 2SV right then and there and then only a few weeks later he was permabanned. I’ve played with him for years. He’s no cheater.

came back after a 4 month break and installed the game to find I was banned. never got an alert about another linked id or anything. there was nothing linked but my xbox id when i logged in. they pretty much told me to go screw myself when i appealed it. so ive lost hundreds of dollars in cod points and battle passes ive bought. really hope someone brings a class action lawsuit against them. not sure how its legal they can just say you did something and not have to provide proof of it. ill never spend a dime on COD or any Activision game at this point

Hpw do I get a passkey for 2FA? In 2020 my account was hacked, I reported and actually managed to get them to sort it and when I got my account back it had loadouts all changed and renamed so I know someone was definately using it. I can't figure out how to 2FA it though and I don't think I ever did it.
This happened to me unfortunately. I was able to get my account back, and i enabled 2fa. However, my account now has the splat mechanic and I cant play normally now. I really liked this cod too which is a shame.
My account got banned for unauthorized software but they won't even help me with proof to get unbanned just copy paste messages in replys at this point it's rip my 13 year old account they won't do shit so much glad I got a back up account on steam
The false shadowban is a seriously annoying issue that needs to be fixed every time I wait out the 5 days to get out of it few months later look back in it better system needed

happened to me a couple weeks ago. someone linked a steam account to mine. i got the account back and a day later was ‘permanently’ banned. i appealed ban and appeal was denied. I found other ways to beg them to investigate it, and they actually did and got me unbanned
It seems like Everyone Hacks or uses Modded Controllers, so I don’t know if this Ban Wave is for False Bans Cause I’ve seen these Types of Mods/Hacks from Most to Least: •2-Tap Damage Mod •Zip Walk Mod •Wallz Mod •Xtra Aim Assist Mod •Toggle Invisibility Mod •Xtra Immunity Frames Mod •Classic BO2 Style Aimbot (Only saw that Happen Once in a Search Game) •Gitter Mod (Only Heard of it from Friends who play the Game)
Reports should never incur a ban. Reports should only give pointers to the anti cheat to be alert on somebody. Also, accounts never cheat, players do. Until there is a system in place to link an account to a person, cheating will only get worse.
I got shadow ban 3 times in the past 2 month, before that NEVER! 3rd ban was today! I was never shadow ban playing MWIII. I go to warzone and i play and I get shadow ban 3 times in 2 months. I hate activision so much. What the fuck are they doing! WTF man! WTF!
It's mostly pc players cheating. To gain an advantage and/or cheat is why they bought it. They know it and it's not a secret. I'm for console cross play only. It's so much smoother than even having one pc nerd in the lobby.
Hate to see it, but hacking issues like this is why I just avoid Activision/Blizzard's Call of Duty. If you get shadow banned your either cheating, using some type of software or unlock tool. I have over 50 Cod friends who are all top tier players (Over half are Warzone Iridescent) and only 2 are in a shadow ban loop. One uses an unlock tool and the other use to cheat in Warzone 1 but doesn’t anymore (So he says 😂). Absolutely no one else has ever been shadow banned.

I had this happen to me a little while ago, an unknown person linked their steam account to my Acti account. Reached out to Activision support and they did NOTHING to help and didn't even unlink that account because "they haven't done anything with it yet" Turned on 2FA, hope that prevents it in the future. But it pisses me off.

🚨I got false banned for backing out of lobbies that picked a map I didn’t want to play. Before the countdown started I would leave bc my wife didn’t like the map but I got banned for “manipulating the software” and they refused to even reverse the ban
Dont forget to mention.. in shadow u have limited modes u can find matches in and it takes a LONGG time to find a match. Basically u just cant play. Its tragic for the false shadows.
I'm on PC. my playstyle is basically I TRY to get reported. I run such a class setup to the point of i can basically always see through smoke with the engineer vest and the enhanced vision goggles on hardcore playlists. no kill cams and people are constantly shot accurately through smoke with a tac stance weapon XD.... I get reported ALOT and I've quite literally never get banned, shadowbanned, falsely banned, etc. if someone was banned they did something dumb that they might not even realize is bannable. it's laughable how many people claim a false ban. it's hilarious...
Not necessarily true. I've been shadow banned 5 times and am currently banned. Each time it happens after some 100+ kill game with like a 5-6kd... I run advanced UAV and usually get 2-3 in one of those high kill games. People start leaving and messaging that I'm cheating and then next game I get kicked out, I check the website, and sure enough I'm shadow banned. Can play for about 3 days straight before I get banned for a week.
Do you have any idea how easy it is to get shadowbanned? Literally get 3 games in a row where you get advanced UAVs and watch what happens to you in the 4th game. You even get people who mass report you because they don't know how things like footsteps and ghost work.
I've been shadow banned once for about two weeks. It was for going hard with the Jak Outlaw pre-patch. Didn't get banned for abusing the new stacking killstreak feature with the new vest on ship; constant mortar strikes. It was patched to not include assists. Either they improved the system somewhat or maybe you have to try even harder. lol. PC btw, so I might get more attention from console players for being "sus".
a buddy of mine had a shadowban loop back in mw2, when he got "unbanned" we played exactly 3 matches and he got shadowbanned again, about 3 times in a row
I got shadow banned in MW2 last year, it was a painful 2 and a half weeks… Which is why people who false report others should also get banned permanently, unless you’re absolutely sure and it’s clear as day that someone is hacking, you have no right to report anyone for anything other than hacking or harassment. I’m saying this because I had a few decent matches and had multiple people on the same day tell me that they’re reporting me and I was shadow banned literally the next day.
False reporting people won’t result in a shadow ban. You can false report someone all you want if Ricochet doesn’t detect anything on that account they wont get shadow banned.. you probably got shadow banned for other reason than mass reporting it.. you’ve got shadow banned for doing something you weren’t supposed to be doing
I’ve been playing cod for almost 20 years. Until 2023 I played exclusively on console. This year I moved over to PC for the fps boost. Since the move I have been shadow banned 6 times. Call of duty is pretty much the only game I play and it’s ridiculous that I can’t enjoy this game due to people being salty and spam reporting. Each time I’m shadowed it’s lifted so cheating is off the table. At this point I’m so frustrated about this that I may give up on cod forever. Kind of wild that someone such as myself with a lengthy history and such an old account has to face this BS. I wish there was something that could be done to prevent being placed in limited matchmaking over and over again after a review process and proved not to be cheating.
This really sucks for me because I can’t even take action to protect my account, because I accidentally unsubscribed from call of dutys email and I have now clue how to resubscribe.
You can resubscribe by going to call of duty’s website and logging into your account and going into your settings. You can also set up 2FA as well. Things like an account linking will still be sent to you as well if you aren’t subscribed to their marketing emails.
If your account has been hacked and you are no longer receiving emails from them, you can submit a ticket to activision and let them know the last known email attached to the account. They will have you set up a temporary account that they will move all your information to once the issue has been resolved.
At least 20+ shadow bans since mw2. Even after I take a break for several months, I'll get another one after a couple hours of play time. I only barely got finished with interstellar camo since shadowbanned lobbies don't exist in Australia. The queue times are anywhere from 6-12 hours for the game to finally accept a match above 250 ping.
My account was banned 4 days ago. My Activision account was linked to a steam account. I logged on right away and changed everything. 4 hours later I was perma banned.. I tried to appeal and the told me its final. I am in my 50s never cheated. The support is the problem also. Its 2024 and they have the ability figure this out and revere the ban. They just do not care. I have years and hundreds of dollars in this game and they just don't care. The time stamp from linked steam account is 4 hours ahead of me. They can cleary see this and figure it out. They just do not care.
Yea and check your call of duty account.... I recently was hacked where the hacker piggy back my account to their stream account (which I don't use). They added friends and I was notified by Activision of those additions... I don't add people.. I instantly change my password and set up 2 step verification.
Lol jokes on the hackers, I had google defender or whatever it is for 2FA on my Activision account, and when I got a new phone it deleted it and its data. So now the hacker and even I cannot access the 2FA code 🤣. Safe to say my accounts good, besides I don’t play MW3 and most likely will not buy the next BO unless reviews are immensely positive.

It's time to get rid of PC cross play with console and make it just Xbox/Playstation cross play. It was a bad idea to start with, and it's a bad idea now. It's never going to work. It's the only way to reduce the cheaters. There is a reason Black Ops 4 (The last game without the PC crossplay) wasn't infested with cheaters on the Playstation or Xbox

Yeah this happens to me. As a casual gamer I have better things to do than set up a bunch secure connections between the litany of apps, games, and publishers...I have an actual job where i do that. Its their responsibility not mine as the paying customer, just like its mine to my employer and its paying customers. So its their job to make the game accessible to me. I had this happen to me the week b4 x defiant came. So everyone please listen an make sure u change ur account password. Since then I got my account back after a week. But since then I left cod an I'm not going back. SBMM, showed me how much I suck a shooters. Lol.
I have been in the shadow ban loop for 4 months since the beginning of this year spam reports are no joke I quit playing multiplayer because how much people maliciously report me had to make an alt account just to play warzone somewhat in peace the workarounds I have to do as a legit player just to play the game makes no sense Black Ops 6 is my last hope if the anti cheat is still falsely banning me based off malicious reports I GIVE UP & only playing zombies where people cant falsely spam report you because they suck.
My battle met account was hacked like 2 years ago. I wasn’t aware of it for a long time because I had barely played at the time. I did get it back but unfortunately I was banned on all my cod games. They wouldn’t appeal them either but they did unban me from most of them except Cold War. I stopped using battle net after that because they don’t respond quick enough and they changed up 2fa. I’m on steam now.
14th shadowban on my main account since Fortune keep ranked... i was free of my last shadowban i played only 1 game and did 1 kill and got again shadowban. This System is a fucking joke..
I have finally reached the point where I hit my goals in ranked I can play pubs just for fun just kinda ass that I can get shadowed if I get reported enough I don’t even talk in game chat at all so I don’t get vc banned but after multiple weeks of back to back shadows I’m probably done with this game it’s actually unplayable in shadowbanned lobbies dudes are promoting hacks in game chat.

In regards to shadow bans and shadow ban loops, just play on console. If you are adamant about playing on PC, play on console for like a week or two and you’ll be out of the loop. Annoying? Yes, but it works.

this happend to a friend of mine, he got temp baned. he plays on PSN but a steam ID is linked to his account. now he has put 2FA on it but he cannot remove the steamID link since it was done to recently. anyone have any idea's how to remove the steam link?
I disagree on their policy. They should give accounts back if the account was comprimised. Its not purely the users fault in my opinion. Their servers are the one that's actually doing the authentication
I'm a crimson 1 in ranked multiplayer so i'm decent but not really all that good for people to think i'm cheating and when i play pubs for some reason sometimes the game puts me in some reaaal bad lobbies it's like there was no sbmm .... And you might think oh man thats great ! Well yeah and no because i literally get spam reported by everyone even my own teammates and that gets me shadowbanned pretty fast wich is extremely annoying
I guess good thing for me is I did setup 2 factor authentication but my problem is that I lost my backup codes now anytime I try and generate a code through the authenticator app it doesn't work so I can't actually log into my account. It also means I cannot login to the mobile game. So I guess I'm safe from this but screwed if I need to log in somewhere else.

This happened to me I play on Xbox and I had a stream account get linked and got banned. I emailed them and they banned my account. I kept emailing them and they investigated and fixed my account.
Nice vid bro my acct actually got hacked one day randomly and I noticed someone had linked a random name and had been playing Warzone on my acct luckily Activision quickly helped me get my acct back and lock him out
I had to dump my steam account and they actually had sold it to cheaters. All fixed fuck off steam. Once the account is link to yours on steam it takes months to deactivate or unlink. Steam never responded to my issue

I remember back in 2019 all you needed to do to steal someone's account was to change the email that was attached to their Activision account to your own email, because it never sent a confirmation to the original email, and 2FA wasn't a thing at the time.

It's getting worse. I just got perma banned for absolutely no reason. I exclusively play zombies on PS5. My account is linked to my own Steam account because back in MW2 days I sometimes liked to play with mouse and keyboard. I have never cheated. My account wasn't hacked. Steam shows I last played on the computer in 2023. I suspect they are now just banning all console players with a linked Steam account. I appealed and got the generic form letter response telling me that they checked with security and confirmed I manipulated data. Ridiculous.

Great security PSA, Ace. Everyone should use 2FA/MFA on any account they even somewhat value -- hackers are everywhere, and the constant data breaches nowadays doesn't help.
Worth noting that 2FA doesn’t have to be a Phone Number either and can be a app that keeps codes for 2FA, Google authenticatior is an example but much better options exist such as Authy or other methods

The way they gain access to these accounts 2fa doesn’t do shit because they are stealing cookies which will have your 2fa included in it.
This happened to me and I unfortunately lost my account. Someone gained access to account and I got banned. I sent proof to Activision and still no luck.
My account got banned after not playing for a month while I was out of the country. Activision notified me of suspicious activity on my account, 4 hours later I reset my password and they had already permanently banned me and are now telling me there was no suspicious activity, despite them telling me there was in the first place SMH
It already happened to me... I unlinked the account and activated 2FA only 5 hours after the unauthorized access but the damage was already done. I haven't even touch COD since Vanguard and haven't even played one game of MWII, III or Warzone but oh well, apparently I'm permanently banned in those games.
This just happened to me. Got an email but did not noticed right away of a new log in, friend request, and linked steam service to my Activision. Onced I noticed, I changed my pw and unlinked all accounts, shortly after activation said I’m banned. I’ve been emailing back and forth but seem like they are not budging. Activision won’t even allow me to unlink my ps so Seem I have to start from scratch in every aspect

I have never played war zone a day in my life so if Activision did do the right thing and go back and look they would have seen I never played on a PC and I have never played warzone either. So what did I do wrong. In the appeal that they gave me said none of that matters, all that matters to them is that the cheating happened on my account. So weather I got hacked or they got hacked or it happened in a different state on a PC on a linked Steam account that is not in my name on a game that I have never played once is MY FAULT AND I HAVE TO PAY THE PRICE AND BE BANNED FOR LIFE. That's absolutely crazy talk what other company would act this way. And there is no customer phone number to speak of or any way to reach out to them..... Just a real shitty way to run a business.

My account was false banned. I have never cheated and only game on console with Xbox series elite controller. I don’t use chat or talk online. My game said temporary however online said permanent. I contacted the BBB and they are now handling my case with Activision, however activision was caught in a lie because I had screenshots and data from activision. Also I have no other linked accounts and password strengths are super strong.

Yep got banned 4 life. Been playing since the first Xbox came out. Now this hobby has gone. I activated 2-factor too late and 2 weeks later , BOEM. Activision kicked me , I did the appeal thing. That was was useless since they stated the cheating took place on my account (which is true), only it wasn't me. Why would I do an appeal if I was the cheater ???
This is one of the reasons I stopped playing games on the PC. I just have pop on the XB and go.

The shadowban issue primarily affects pc players. I spent the first 250 hrs of mw3 on ps5 or my series x. Have dropped plenty of high kill games, nukes, etc, never had an issue. I finally build a gaming pc and within 2 weeks of the same kind of performance I received my first shadowban. The fact that it’s dictated primarily on reports from salty players who genuinely can’t imagine that someone is much better than them without cheating is ridiculous.
Well, when you have such strict SBMM the only way they see people that much better than them is when that person is reverse boosting. So of course they are going to suspect that player of cheating.

My issue is leaving the ability to render a persons account nearly unusable in the hands of that kind of community without a proper system in place to actually assess and review an account in a timely manner.
@@defeatignorance8681 SBMM is not as strict as you think, goes to show your own skill level if you think so, skill is prioritized over connection, but connection isn't ignored, so high skill players will end up in lower skilled lobbies to make sure they don't have horrendous connection, it wont be great connection, but not 500ms of ping and unplayable

2FA Is great if you have access to the email on the account. If you've lost access to that email there is NO WAY to change the email. So as a result I have an account that can be hacked because of the stupid rules that state you can't change your email if you can't access that email to get an email about changing your email. Crazy BS imo
Same situation except the app I had for 2FA is now gone along with its data once I got my new phone last year. Forgot the name of the app it was Google something. Either way, my account is basically locked to anyone besides me since it remembers my device/location of login. Even I can’t access the 2FA codes

2 of my friends that didn't have 2FA activated had their accounts hacked the last 2 weeks, back to back too. Both managed to get their accounts back and unbanned, but it was a pain in the ass.

Had this exact thing happen to me on Xbox, got an email that a steam account was added, even though I had mine already added, then I logged on and saw my Activision ID got changed, made me level 1 and lost everything, after submitting an account take over ticket with Activision and 4 days later, had my account back.

I've been playing video games for close to 35 years now(Yeah I'm an old head). Played call of duty since it dropped, never hacked in my life.
Like EVERYONE else here, randomly my account gets compromised somehow (I'm extremely careful with my information & data), and then linked to my steam account, next thing you know a random person is hacking on my account, and somehow I'm permanently banned? They obviously didn't take 30 seconds to check any of the IP addresses or MAC addresses that these new accounts linked to ours, because if they did obviously they'd see it WASNT US and would overturn the ban! I spent a lot of money on these games, as I'm sure everyone else has, and I'm not going to let it go down the tube because they can't keep their information secure! SHAME on you Activision.

This happened to me last month. Someone linked their steam account to my Activision account and I got banned. I appealed the ban and they declined my appeal. What I had to do was an account recovery request and there’s a text box where I explained that the steam account was unauthorized. A few days later the steam account was unlinked and I got my account back.
This happened to me upon discovery last week. Finally got my account back luckily. Had to change passwords and update 2FA real quick. I have been popped with easy fall damage/deaths in return.

My homie went afk for dinner and when he came back he was notified that someone else on PC was playing on his account. He immediately activated 2SV right then and there and then only a few weeks later he was permabanned. I’ve played with him for years. He’s no cheater.

came back after a 4 month break and installed the game to find I was banned. never got an alert about another linked id or anything. there was nothing linked but my xbox id when i logged in. they pretty much told me to go screw myself when i appealed it. so ive lost hundreds of dollars in cod points and battle passes ive bought. really hope someone brings a class action lawsuit against them. not sure how its legal they can just say you did something and not have to provide proof of it. ill never spend a dime on COD or any Activision game at this point

In 2020 my account was hacked, I reported and actually managed to get them to sort it and when I got my account back it had loadouts all changed and renamed so I know someone was definately using it.
I can't figure out how to 2FA it though and I don't think I ever did it.
This happened to me unfortunately. I was able to get my account back, and i enabled 2fa. However, my account now has the splat mechanic and I cant play normally now. I really liked this cod too which is a shame.

Reports should never incur a ban. Reports should only give pointers to the anti cheat to be alert on somebody. Also, accounts never cheat, players do. Until there is a system in place to link an account to a person, cheating will only get worse.
The anti-cheat doesn't "target" someone, it's always on and for everyone, reports are made for manual bans

I got shadow ban 3 times in the past 2 month, before that NEVER! 3rd ban was today! I was never shadow ban playing MWIII. I go to warzone and i play and I get shadow ban 3 times in 2 months. I hate activision so much. What the fuck are they doing! WTF man! WTF!
It's mostly pc players cheating. To gain an advantage and/or cheat is why they bought it. They know it and it's not a secret. I'm for console cross play only. It's so much smoother than even having one pc nerd in the lobby.

If you get shadow banned your either cheating, using some type of software or unlock tool. I have over 50 Cod friends who are all top tier players (Over half are Warzone Iridescent) and only 2 are in a shadow ban loop.
One uses an unlock tool and the other use to cheat in Warzone 1 but doesn’t anymore (So he says 😂). Absolutely no one else has ever been shadow banned.
No cheater ever admits to cheating. I sometimes drop 20+ kills snd games with non meta weapons and regulary carry team. Never seen a shadow ban.

I had this happen to me a little while ago, an unknown person linked their steam account to my Acti account. Reached out to Activision support and they did NOTHING to help and didn't even unlink that account because "they haven't done anything with it yet" Turned on 2FA, hope that prevents it in the future. But it pisses me off.
You need to unlink it yourself in your profile on the website, all you can ask to Acti is to send a change password link so you can connect

I'm on PC. my playstyle is basically I TRY to get reported. I run such a class setup to the point of i can basically always see through smoke with the engineer vest and the enhanced vision goggles on hardcore playlists. no kill cams and people are constantly shot accurately through smoke with a tac stance weapon XD.... I get reported ALOT and I've quite literally never get banned, shadowbanned, falsely banned, etc. if someone was banned they did something dumb that they might not even realize is bannable. it's laughable how many people claim a false ban. it's hilarious...

Not necessarily true. I've been shadow banned 5 times and am currently banned. Each time it happens after some 100+ kill game with like a 5-6kd... I run advanced UAV and usually get 2-3 in one of those high kill games. People start leaving and messaging that I'm cheating and then next game I get kicked out, I check the website, and sure enough I'm shadow banned. Can play for about 3 days straight before I get banned for a week.
Do you have any idea how easy it is to get shadowbanned? Literally get 3 games in a row where you get advanced UAVs and watch what happens to you in the 4th game. You even get people who mass report you because they don't know how things like footsteps and ghost work.

I've been shadow banned once for about two weeks. It was for going hard with the Jak Outlaw pre-patch. Didn't get banned for abusing the new stacking killstreak feature with the new vest on ship; constant mortar strikes. It was patched to not include assists. Either they improved the system somewhat or maybe you have to try even harder. lol. PC btw, so I might get more attention from console players for being "sus".
a buddy of mine had a shadowban loop back in mw2, when he got "unbanned" we played exactly 3 matches and he got shadowbanned again, about 3 times in a row

Which is why people who false report others should also get banned permanently, unless you’re absolutely sure and it’s clear as day that someone is hacking, you have no right to report anyone for anything other than hacking or harassment.
I’m saying this because I had a few decent matches and had multiple people on the same day tell me that they’re reporting me and I was shadow banned literally the next day.
False reporting people won’t result in a shadow ban. You can false report someone all you want if Ricochet doesn’t detect anything on that account they wont get shadow banned.. you probably got shadow banned for other reason than mass reporting it.. you’ve got shadow banned for doing something you weren’t supposed to be doing

I’ve been playing cod for almost 20 years. Until 2023 I played exclusively on console. This year I moved over to PC for the fps boost. Since the move I have been shadow banned 6 times. Call of duty is pretty much the only game I play and it’s ridiculous that I can’t enjoy this game due to people being salty and spam reporting. Each time I’m shadowed it’s lifted so cheating is off the table. At this point I’m so frustrated about this that I may give up on cod forever. Kind of wild that someone such as myself with a lengthy history and such an old account has to face this BS. I wish there was something that could be done to prevent being placed in limited matchmaking over and over again after a review process and proved not to be cheating.
This really sucks for me because I can’t even take action to protect my account, because I accidentally unsubscribed from call of dutys email and I have now clue how to resubscribe.
You can resubscribe by going to call of duty’s website and logging into your account and going into your settings. You can also set up 2FA as well. Things like an account linking will still be sent to you as well if you aren’t subscribed to their marketing emails.
If your account has been hacked and you are no longer receiving emails from them, you can submit a ticket to activision and let them know the last known email attached to the account. They will have you set up a temporary account that they will move all your information to once the issue has been resolved.

At least 20+ shadow bans since mw2. Even after I take a break for several months, I'll get another one after a couple hours of play time. I only barely got finished with interstellar camo since shadowbanned lobbies don't exist in Australia. The queue times are anywhere from 6-12 hours for the game to finally accept a match above 250 ping.
My account was banned 4 days ago. My Activision account was linked to a steam account. I logged on right away and changed everything. 4 hours later I was perma banned.. I tried to appeal and the told me its final. I am in my 50s never cheated. The support is the problem also. Its 2024 and they have the ability figure this out and revere the ban. They just do not care. I have years and hundreds of dollars in this game and they just don't care. The time stamp from linked steam account is 4 hours ahead of me. They can cleary see this and figure it out. They just do not care.

Yea and check your call of duty account.... I recently was hacked where the hacker piggy back my account to their stream account (which I don't use). They added friends and I was notified by Activision of those additions... I don't add people.. I instantly change my password and set up 2 step verification.
Lol jokes on the hackers, I had google defender or whatever it is for 2FA on my Activision account, and when I got a new phone it deleted it and its data. So now the hacker and even I cannot access the 2FA code 🤣. Safe to say my accounts good, besides I don’t play MW3 and most likely will not buy the next BO unless reviews are immensely positive.

I have been in the shadow ban loop for 4 months since the beginning of this year spam reports are no joke I quit playing multiplayer because how much people maliciously report me had to make an alt account just to play warzone somewhat in peace the workarounds I have to do as a legit player just to play the game makes no sense Black Ops 6 is my last hope if the anti cheat is still falsely banning me based off malicious reports I GIVE UP & only playing zombies where people cant falsely spam report you because they suck.
My battle met account was hacked like 2 years ago. I wasn’t aware of it for a long time because I had barely played at the time. I did get it back but unfortunately I was banned on all my cod games. They wouldn’t appeal them either but they did unban me from most of them except Cold War. I stopped using battle net after that because they don’t respond quick enough and they changed up 2fa. I’m on steam now.
14th shadowban on my main account since Fortune keep ranked... i was free of my last shadowban i played only 1 game and did 1 kill and got again shadowban. This System is a fucking joke..
I have finally reached the point where I hit my goals in ranked I can play pubs just for fun just kinda ass that I can get shadowed if I get reported enough I don’t even talk in game chat at all so I don’t get vc banned but after multiple weeks of back to back shadows I’m probably done with this game it’s actually unplayable in shadowbanned lobbies dudes are promoting hacks in game chat.
Happened to me... Took 10 days for them to restore my account.. hopefully with TFA won't happen again

My account got 7tims shadow ban.............it's very annoying and unfair and stupid system
And if you don’t think your account can get compromised you’re wrong 😭 I never got banned but got shadow banned, found out my account got sold to somebody in a completely different country 😭 dudes literally messaged me to buy the account AGAIN
In regards to shadow bans and shadow ban loops, just play on console. If you are adamant about playing on PC, play on console for like a week or two and you’ll be out of the loop. Annoying? Yes, but it works.
yeah iv been shadow banned on my account now like 16+ times since the release of mw3 and clearly I'm not cheating as i would of been perma banned by now i would of thought, hope so
this happend to a friend of mine, he got temp baned. he plays on PSN but a steam ID is linked to his account. now he has put 2FA on it but he cannot remove the steamID link since it was done to recently. anyone have any idea's how to remove the steam link?
I disagree on their policy. They should give accounts back if the account was comprimised. Its not purely the users fault in my opinion. Their servers are the one that's actually doing the authentication
I'm a crimson 1 in ranked multiplayer so i'm decent but not really all that good for people to think i'm cheating and when i play pubs for some reason sometimes the game puts me in some reaaal bad lobbies it's like there was no sbmm .... And you might think oh man thats great ! Well yeah and no because i literally get spam reported by everyone even my own teammates and that gets me shadowbanned pretty fast wich is extremely annoying
I got banned last month and I hadn't even played in probably two months smh 🤦🏾♂️
I guess good thing for me is I did setup 2 factor authentication but my problem is that I lost my backup codes now anytime I try and generate a code through the authenticator app it doesn't work so I can't actually log into my account. It also means I cannot login to the mobile game. So I guess I'm safe from this but screwed if I need to log in somewhere else.
Ive gotten shadowbanned 3 times already because of low skill players reporting me all the time its so annoying because you cant play for ~5 days everytime i get banned
Here's a great idea to stop getting banned! Don't play a garbage recycled game. Also saves you your hard earned $70.
This happened to me recently. I was luck snd got it back. But just to echo message u said please please use 2 factor authentication.
This happened to me I play on Xbox and I had a stream account get linked and got banned. I emailed them and they banned my account. I kept emailing them and they investigated and fixed my account.
Nice vid bro my acct actually got hacked one day randomly and I noticed someone had linked a random name and had been playing Warzone on my acct luckily Activision quickly helped me get my acct back and lock him out
I had to dump my steam account and they actually had sold it to cheaters. All fixed fuck off steam. Once the account is link to yours on steam it takes months to deactivate or unlink. Steam never responded to my issue
